The pastor of Saving Grace Seoul Church emphasized the importance of Christians faithfully representing the Father in a correct manner. But he also gave a warning saying, “If you represent the Father, you will get persecuted.”
Following Jesus
Pastor Paul offered a timely reminder to fellow believers, urging them to stand for the name of Jesus firmly. However, he acknowledged that following Jesus is no easy task, as the path with Him is narrow. He said, “That’s why it’s a narrow road because it takes denying ourselves, taking up our cross. Not just confessing and believing but submitting to the will of God.”
Nonetheless, Jesus remains the sole path, the truth, and the source of life. Life outside of Him is nonexistent.
Therefore, Pastor Paul wholeheartedly encouraged believers to boldly proclaim the Gospel without shame, even in the face of persecution that may accompany it. He said, “If you’re ashamed of the Gospel, you will never get persecuted. If you’re a closet Christian, you will never get persecuted. But if you represent correctly, you will get persecuted. One way or the other.”
You Will Get Persecuted
As stated by the resolute pastor, persecution is expected to intensify over time due to the prevailing culture of today. He said, “That persecution will become greater and greater because we’re living in the days and culture and trends where Christians are becoming public enemy number one.”
As Jesus said in John 15:19-20, “If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they keep my word, they will also keep yours.”
Pastor Paul further explained, “Because we’re against gay marriage, we’re against LGBTQ, we’re against abortion. And we speak forth about these things.”
“Beloved, Christ said, ‘I did not come to bring peace. I came to bring a sword.”
As a Christian, it is vital to accurately represent the Father. Embrace boldness in expressing your faith.
