Christian artist Joe L Barnes revealed how his mom’s faith helped him get through the darkest times.

Joe was born and raised in Kentucky. During his teenage years, their family went through the darkest moments of their lives. When he was 14, his parents separated. A year later, his mom went through surgery after almost losing her life. Another year later, his older brother committed suicide.
Those years were the most difficult years for Joe. It was his mother’s faith in God that remained strong even in the trials that helped him get through those years.
“I saw my mom running to the Lord, instead of running away… My mom chose in those moments to say, ‘I don’t know what’s happening but I trust You to carry me through this. Seeing my mother’s relationship with the Lord be anchored that much kind of shifted something in me.”

Mom’s Faith
Seeing his mother’s faith made Joe realize that there is hope no matter what our circumstances may be.
“I knew no matter how dark the season, no matter how violent the waves of life, I want to be anchored in Him that much… It didn’t stop the dark days from happening but it gave me hope in the dark days. It gave me something to hold on to until the dark days were over.”
Today, Joe L Barnes is now a Christian artist that aims to provide a safe place for people to talk or not to talk, to just be them and find the Lord. He recently released his new song “Million Little Miracles,” and it is about the story of his life.
“A lot of times, we get so motivated to introduce God to people. But Steffany Gretzinger said that God once told her, ‘I’m so much better at being found than you are introducing Me.'”
