Manny Pacquiao And Jinkee’s Response To The Pandemic

Jinkee Pacquiao who has more than 200,000 subscribers on YouTube shared a heartwarming video on Monday. With the title “Worshipping the Lord with my Husband” she wrote in the caption, “Let us share the importance of the word of God in our everyday lives. ????”

The couple sang a worship song by Amy Grant which Jinkee said was straight from the Scripture. It was from the book of Psalms 119:105.

“The Word of God is really important in our lives. And it’s very important that in these difficult times, we want to worship God, meditating in His Word. And we wanna share with all of you the message of this song,” she encouraged the viewers.

But before Manny struck the strings of his guitar to start their worship, his wife shared a short description of worship from her Bible.

“Worship is a sincere expression of reverence and devotion toward God. Worship can take place through singing songs of praise, praying and meditating upon God’s Word,” Jinkee read.

After worshiping the LORD, Manny said, “Brothers and sisters, know that worshiping is for the LORD. And when you worship, give your heart to the LORD 100%, not 99%. Because when we worship the LORD, we are communicating with Him, directly to God.” What a beautiful picture of a couple so in love with Jesus blessing and inspiring thousands to come to Him!

Boxing champion Manny Pacquiao reminded everyone that “God is in control” over the COVID-19 issue that the world is facing.

Manny Pacquiao is a professional boxing champion. He is alo a Philippine senator. Moreover, he is known for his bold faith.

As a Philippine senator, he is among the people fighting the coronavirus on the frontlines. The nation has now over 1,500 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 and it is still rapidly increasing every day.

The Philippines

Well-known for its tropical weather that attracts many tourists, the Philippines has been placed on lockdown. Beach resorts are deserted and traffic-jammed streets are now empty.

The problem is now a huge concern for the citizens and the government is implementing measures to help stop the spread of the virus. On behalf of the government, Senator Manny addressed the nation on a video expressing his gratitude to everyone.

He first thanked the founder of the Alibaba Group, Jack Ma, for extending help to the nation by giving over 57,000 COVID-19 test kits and over 500,000 face masks.

“I thank God for giving me a friend, Jack Ma, that He used as an instrument to bless the Philippines.”

The boxing champion then thanked his fellow Filipinos for cooperating with the measurements that the government is implementing.

“To all my fellow Filipinos, thank you for your trust in us, the government. And most importantly, thank you for cooperating.”

God’s promise

Lastly, he reminded everyone of God’s promise and that God is still in control despite this seemingly overwhelming situation.

“Let us just trust God who guides us in every way. The Bible says, ‘in this world, you will have trouble but take heart I have overcome the world.’ We are not fighting against flesh but against the darkness. God is in control.”

World boxing legend Manny Pacquiao defended his WBA title twice last year. But today, the boxing champ is defending more than just titles and worldly achievements. Above all, Manny Pacquiao in a champion for the Gospel.

Manny is a member of the Philippine Senate. He stands in the government as a man of deep and unrelenting faith. He was also instrumental in getting the law passed “declaring the last Monday of January as the National Bible Day in the Philippines.”

And during the National Bible Day in the Philippines this week, Manny once again shared his testimony to the public. He reminded everyone of God’s Word and challenged every Christian to spread the Gospel.

“The Bible tells us to do what is right. If we read and meditate on God’s Word, we will be molded into the man and woman God wants us to be,” Manny professed at the celebration he hosted.

The famed Christian apologist Dr. Ravi Zacharias also joined in the National Bible Day celebrations. He addressed the state of the world in a speech. “Natural calamities are causing us to realize how fragile we are. God brings a person to a time when they need to realize that I can’t do that, God does that.”

Dr. Ravi also pointed out the great importance of making God’s Word the foundation of one’s life.

“The foundation on which you build your life is the only thing that will stand when the storms of life ultimately come and they will come. It’s not a question of if, but when,” he said.

Importance Of Reading God’s Word

Manny also addressed the audience saying, “The Bible is the only book we need to discover the foundational truth of how to know and walk with God.”

The 41-year-old expressed his sorrow with the sudden death of friend Kobe Bryant as well. He is hoping that the reports about the NBA star receiving Christ are true.

“Life is too short in this world. So make sure you have a personal relationship to God. You have a strong relationship and you obey God,” he said.

“Read the Bible because it will lead you to all truth. The Bible is the manual to life,” he added.

Many People Doubted Manny Pacquiao

When boxing champion Manny entered the Philippines’ political scene, many people doubted his capabilities. Although he had a heart for the people, many Filipinos were hesitant to put their trust his leadership. One of the reasons was his lack of education. Having a college degree is highly esteemed in Filipino culture. 

Today, Senator Manny Pacquiao has surprised his critics by achieving a higher education. He never allowed the criticisms he received in the past to stop him from learning and reaching his goals. Instead, Manny worked hard to finish school in order to lead the Filipino people towards a better nation.

His Heart For The Philippines

It was in February 2007 when Manny Pacquiao took a high school equivalency exam under the Department of Education’s Alternative Learning System. And because he successfully passed, he became eligible to get a college degree. Since then, Manny studied hard to gain the wisdom and knowledge he needed in for a position in government. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, he revealed that he needed it to better understand the country’s situation.

Manny also posted in Instagram on September saying, “Never stop learning because life never stops teaching.”

And finally on December 11, 2019, the 40-year-old boxing champion graduated from the University of Makati. Manny, along with 400 other students became degree holders.

Manny Pacquiao is known to be the “World Boxing Champion” from the Philippines. Every people has a story to tell, but this time, let’s hear from Manny.

Manny Pacquiao and Humble Beginnings

Manny Pacquiao was born in General Santos City, Philippines on December 17, 1978. His parents are Rosalio and Dionesia Pacquiao.

Growing up in a low-income family, Manny, at the age of 7 had to experience sleeping in the streets with an empty stomach. Many times he went an entire day without a proper meal, drinking just water. His family did all they could to survive and young Manny wanted to help.

At the age of 12, Manny joined boxing as an escape and a possible means to make money for his family. He entered paid fights and earned up to $12 per fight.

Marriage

Years passed, his career in boxing progressed and Manny started to compete in major fights. He wont numerous national WBA (World Boxing Association) titles.

But fame and wealth were too much for him. Manny gave himself over to the life of partying, drinking, gambling, and womanizing. Though married, Manny became known for running around with other women.

“Before I could not resist the devil. When sexy ladies would pass, my eyes would follow them,” Manny said.

The Lowest Point

One day, his mother sent him a letter telling him about the struggles their family was facing. His brother needed to stop going to school in order help provide for the family.

Manny – a champion boxer – was unable to help because he had spent all his money on frivolous things, gambling, and women.

That was his lowest point. To realize he had finally had position and fame and yet had failed his family.

The Dream

One night, he cried out to God, praying for God to change his circumstances. God intervened and visited Manny in a dream. Manny described the dream like this:

“I was in a jungle. I saw the light brighter than the sun, It penetrates my bones and my body, I heard God’s voice, saying, ‘Son, why did you leave me…Why are you away from me?’”

After that dream, Manny woke up wondering about the meaning. He didn’t realize it was truly God speaking.

One day, he decided to read the Bible and made a discovery. He found out that God could speak to people through dreams.

“My dream was real!” he declared after receiving the revelation of from God’s word.

After that, Manny decided to surrender his life to Christ.

Worldly Passions vs. Passion for God

“But now, I have a strong Spirit… I am blind now to other women, the only thing and most beautiful woman that I keep my eyes on is my wife,” Manny testifies.

He became a Man of God, hungry and thirsty for God’s word, proving the Lord can change any man. He even holds Bible studies and encourages his fans to read the Bible.

“When you meditate on the Word and keep the Words of God in your mouth, in your lips, in your hearts, in your mind, you will be guided,” he explained.

“The Holy Spirit will guide you,” he added.

Aside from being a world champion, now, Manny is also a Senator in the Philippines. And just recently, he became the oldest welterweight champion in history. He defeated Keith Thurman in a split decision at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

On top of his awards as a professional boxer, he is also a follower of Christ. Manny has always been vocal about his Christian faith and beliefs. But despite the controversy on his opinion about the LGBTQ, he still won the hearts of the Filipino community and they elected him as one of the Philippine senators. With his seat in politics, he is using his strong faith in God to serve the people.

During the weekend, Manny stepped in the boxing ring again. The 40-year-old boxer faced the unbeaten boxer Keith Thurman in 12 rounds on July 20. Manny won the WBA title in a thrilling split decision at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Both boxers showed their respect for each other during the post-fight press conference. Manny praised his opponent in a show of respect and admiration.

“Your journey is not over here… This guy is a warrior!” said Manny.

The post-fight press conference ended with Manny glorifying God and speaking about his purpose with his boxing career.

“The ability that I have is not my own, but God gave me this ability to continue my career for a purpose. And I believe that I’m here to inspire the fans and inspire the people of boxing. And not only that, being a role model to everyone as a follower of God, a follower of Jesus Christ,” he added.

Champion Boxer Boldly Ends Speech With A Bible Verse At Final Press Conference

The fight between Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner last at MGM Grand in Las Vegas recently was remarkable. Manny successfully defended his WBA Welterweight title once again in a unanimous decision. It’s no surprise his fellow countrymen are celebrating while Manny started off with a Facebook post thanking God for this victory.

However, three days before Manny and Adrien got on the boxing ring, both gave their last speech at a final press conference. During the conference, Manny never forgot to use the platform God has given him to glorify Him.

He started his message with a grateful heart to the Lord, “First of all, I would like to thank God for this privilege today that we have a press conference.”

Then appreciating every individual organizing the event, the promotions, the media press, his fans, and everyone who has given them a favor for the event, he mentioned how overwhelmed he was for the unexpected support he had received.

Manny also highlighted that the fight was nothing personal. In fact, he showed interest in wanting to be friends with Adrien, his opponent.

Moreover, before ending his speech, Manny took the opportunity to share God’s Word. Overawed by God’s favor at the age of 40-years-old still fighting in the boxing sport, he shared a Bible verse taken from Jeremiah 9:23-24 where it says:

“Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these, I delight,” says the Lord.”

Manny boldly declared God’s Word in front of the media with millions of people around the world watching. He is truly a Man after God’s own heart and we praise God for his life!

Manny Pacquiao After Winning The WBA Fight: “Thank You Lord For The Victory!”

Once again, the world-renowned, professional boxing champion, Manny Pacquiao, defended the WBA Welterweight title in a fight against Adrien Broner.

Last Saturday night, at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Manny dominated Adrien throughout the 12 rounds in the ring. During the fight, Adrien found it hard to keep up with Manny especially when he used aggression and speed over him. Adrien could hardly throw a punch to counter back.

According to the CBS Sports report, Manny snapped out over 70 jabs in the first three rounds, cruising to easy wins as he avoided Adrien’s rare attempts at counters. He also successfully launched a punch on Adrien with his left hand in the 5th and 9th rounds—which is known to have great strength since he is a left-handed person.

In the end, by a unanimous decision, the Filipino boxing champion victoriously retained the WBA Welterweight Title. Manny then posted on his official Facebook Page crediting God for his triumph.

“Thank you, Lord for the victory! Thank you to my wife Jinkee, my family, friends, and fans from all over the world. Thank you to everyone who watched my fight tonight. Thank you for all your support. I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of you. May God bless you all!”

Aside from being a prominent world boxing champion, Manny is also known as a man after God’s own heart. After hearing God’s audible voice, he became a changed man, leaving all his vices behind. Since then, a huge part of his profits go to those less fortunate. He has built homes for the homeless, given provision to the poor, and has given millions of jobs to people in his country through the businesses he has built. Perhaps, Manny acknowledges that it was God who has given him all these things and so he stewards what his gifts, in light of his fear of God.

Maybe, winning the fight wasn’t only for him, but for every person who will be blessed with his generosity. For this has always been the will of God.

Manny Pacquiao’s Tearjerking Message To Students

If you can’t think of a man whose life is literally from rags to riches real-life story, let me introduce to you the world boxing champion, Emmanuel D. Pacquiao or popularly known as “Manny Pacquiao.”

Just recently, Manny, who is currently serving as a Senator of the Philippines, was invited to speak at Oxford Union at the University of Oxford in England. The Oxford Union is a debating society which holds talks and debates by intriguing and influential people who shape our world. It was established 190 years ago and aims to promote intelligent discussion not just at Oxford, but across the globe.

When Manny received the invitation from such prestigious University, he asked himself: “What could Manny Pacquiao say that would be of any impact, much more utility, to the men and women who enjoy the highest standards of instruction at Oxford?”

During his speech, he admitted he felt intimidated knowing the kind of main event headliners who faced the Oxford Union over the years— Sir Winston Churchill, American Presidents Reagan, Nixon and Carter, Mother Teresa, Dalai Lama, and Sir Elton John, to name a few.

And although Manny felt trepidation, he humbly added, “I know what I should speak about. Something very few among you can claim to know about: my education, certainly non-traditional, non-formal, largely unstructured. I will call it my education in the Open University of Life.”

That’s when Manny started to share his life story. He referenced a favorite Bible story of his saying, “Think of David and Goliath. Look at me. I am not very big and I never had five smooth stones to throw at any obstacle, but determination is a power tool. I won a lot of fights.”

Manny also addressed the people who considered him unfit for his role in politics. “I do not fault anyone who views me as singularly ill-equipped for this role. Instead, I ask, is there anyone more knowledgeable, than this humble civil servant, about the hardships and the way of life of the majority of our people? Who among my colleagues has faced poverty from birth? Whose life’s work has it been to battle illiteracy?”

It would have never entered the mind of the seven-year-old Manny Pacquiao, sleeping in the streets hungry, that he would become a great inspiration to many people today.

At the near end of his speech, revealed a secret, “Miracles do happen. Dreams do come true. Being poor does not mean one must die poor. Hard work and persistence will set you free from the shackles of poverty. But it is faith that will take you to the very top.”

Then he ended his speech with these powerful words, “So I ask you – all of you – to never lose faith in what you can do as a human being. Believe in the loyalty of family. And belief in the Almighty God. It is not easy to believe in the power of one. But I ask you to look around you. Count the faces. Do the multiplication and suddenly we are a power of 50 or 100 or 1,000.

You, with your education, determination, and faith, you can change the world.”

Manny’s life story is indeed a blessing. May God bless this humble man’s heart!
