A man committed suicide, was dead for 8 minutes, and then came back to life. He actually resented that he survived and dove deeper into drugs in an attempt to avoid his pain until Jesus encountered him.
Abandoned By His Father
Ty Bateman was abandoned by his biological father at nine months old. Then at nine years old, he experienced molestation that significantly damaged his identity. As a result, he often suffered from seizures, and kids made fun of his condition.

Such painful experiences made Ty doubt his existence and identity. Later, he became suicidal and “was in and out of mental hospitals.”
“I was so angry, I would have to be physically restrained constantly,” he recalled.
He Committed Suicide
Ty dropped out of high school sophomore year. Then finally, on May 11, 2017, he decided to end his life. But God had greater plans because he survived the attempt.
“I was dead for eight minutes,” he recounted. “And I finally woke up. I was so mad that I lived.”
Ty resented that he survived and “started running the streets” and “would do anything to get high.” He became so violent that he would attack anyone.
“I’ve been stabbed, beat up in my sleep,” he detailed. “I have scars on my body.”

Encountering Jesus
Amidst living this chaotic life, Ty’s mom continued to fight for him. He was in and out of jail and met Trivy, a Christian, while imprisoned in 2020.
“He had a prayer circle that I went to and he shared about God’s forgiveness,” he said.
Hearing about God’s love and mercy brought Ty to tears. Everything changed in his life starting that day.
“I couldn’t believe that with all I had done, Jesus still loved me just as much as anybody else,” he remarked. “I couldn’t believe it.”
MAN CONVICTED OF MURDER BECOMES A CHRISTIAN, ‘I CAN’T FORGIVE MYSELF.. JESUS IS MY CURE’
Ty had become numb to all the bad things that had happened in his life. Even his mom’s words about how much God loved him, didn’t affect him. But on that day, hearing the message softened his heart.
“Jesus transformed me,” Ty proclaimed. “He allowed me to feel again. He has healed my hate. My first step of faith was forgiving other people that had hurt me.”
Ty no longer resents the man who molested him. Instead, he prays for him because of how Jesus loved him. He also wants to live his life for Jesus.
“I felt full because of Christ,” he added. “You can chase everything in this world and find emptiness. But you can only find satisfaction in Jesus. I couldn’t stop reading the Bible from there. I’m healed. Jesus loves you so deeply.”
