God Himself Watches Over Jerusalem

“For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a burning torch. The nations shall see your righteousness, and all the kings your glory, and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will give. You shall be a crown of beauty in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God…..On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the LORD in remembrance, take no rest, and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth.”  Isaiah 62:1-6

This scripture is beautiful reminder of how God cares for Jerusalem.  He watches over her and He will not be silent concerning her.  He speaks of the watchmen on the walls that He sets over her as a city.  Who are these watchmen and what do they do?

The Role Of The Watchmen

In biblical times both in Israel and also neighboring nations, high stone walls surround the cities.  All of the dwelling places of the inhabitants of that city live inside those protective walls.   These walls separate them from the danger of invasion from other nations.  Appointed watchman take shifts looking out for any dangers even through the night.  The word watchmen in Hebrew here in Isaiah 62:6 means to keep guard, to watch, to protect and to wait for.  It is the role of that watchman to warn the people by sounding the trumpet at the first sight of invaders in attempts to apprehend them before it is too late.  This was a serious duty and truly a significant one to the Lord as we see in this scripture.

“But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.” Ezekiel 33:6

A Watchman On The Wall For Israel

As believers in Jesus we are called to watch and to pray.  Even as the end drew near for Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, He tells His disciples to stay awake and pray that they may not enter into temptation.  Additionally, shortly before that He gives the parable of the ten virgins – five wise and five foolish.  Those that were wise were that way because their lamps were full. They were wakeful, prepared and ready at a moments notice to meet the bridegroom.   They were watchful and on the lookout for him.

We gather from the scriptures and specifically from Isaiah 62 that God cares deeply for His people, Israel.  We also know that God does not give up on His covenants and therefore has not given up on Israel. In the final portion of Isaiah 62:6, those that remember the Lord, should take no rest. They should give God no rest until Jerusalem is a praise in all the earth.  If you read the news at all you know that Jerusalem has not yet become “a praise in all the earth.”

The Lord is looking for those who be will watchmen on behalf of Israel.  Those that will “keep guard, watch, and protect” as well as cry out for her salvation.  As prayer warriors, let us spiritually look out for approaching dangers and sound the alarm to pray. Watchmen are alert and vigilant in prayer ready to guard what is precious to the Lord.  What an amazing and sobering opportunity we get to partner with the God of the universe in watching over Israel!! Now more than ever Israel needs our prayers for physical safety and a spiritual awakening so that she can be “A Praise In All The Earth”.

Young Woman Powerfully Intercedes For Gen Z: “Depression Is Not Your Story”

A young woman is powerfully interceding for Gen Z. She specifically prayed for her generation to “wake up” and be bold for God.

Young Woman Powerfully Intercedes

Aubrie Kimbrough shared a video taken by one of her friends at a gathering to worship and pray for their generation.

“Why are you weeping? Gen Z’s not dead, just sleeping. Every time we have gotten together to worship, this line has come up. Why? Because there is a generation crying out that has been labeled dead. Because there is a world weeping for the future, believing that the next gen is dead and gone,” she wrote in the caption.”

Furthermore, she stirred up everyone to have hope for their generation: “Have hope, world; Gen Z is not dead,” she said.

Intercedes For Gen Z

In today’s time, depression, suicide, and anxiety are high, especially among the younger generations. But Audrey believes that it’s not the end of their story.

“Anxiety, depression, and suicide will not be the end of our story. Gen Z is not dead. They are just asleep, but they are waking up to the powerful name of Christ, the depths of His love, and the beauty of His face,” she said.

Additionally, Aubrie has faith that Gen Z is being equipped by God for a greater harvest of souls.

“Gen Z is rising up with boldness, passion, humility, and fire to see the gospel spread to the ends of the world. A nameless and faceless generation whose one goal is to glorify King Jesus. Wipe your eyes, world, a generation on fire for Jesus is arising with good news on their lips,” she said.

Powerfully Intercedes For Gen Z

It is evident that this young woman is passionate about winning her generation for Christ. Join her in this prayer:

“So we speak to the enemy. We speak to every spirit of depression, every spirit of suicide, every spirit of anxiety, and we say you have no hold over Gen Z anymore. We say you must lose your grip in Jesus’ name. They’re not your property anymore. They are not dead, they are just sleeping, and we proclaim every Gen Z, wake up. Wake up! You are not dead. Suicide is not your story. Depression is not your story. He has a good story for you. He has a good plan for you. So we say Ben Z, wake up. Wake up! Be bold!

“Lord, would You send workers into the harvest field, Lord. Would You send young workers into the harvest filled, Jesus. To get Your harvest of Gen Z, Lord Jesus. That school system will be turned around because of the way You’re moving in Gen Z, God. Then an entire nation would come to know You because of what You’re doing in this generation. We proclaim, in Jesus’ name. And we will see a new Jesus-people movement rising out of high schools, in Jesus’ name.”

“He Won’t Let Me Go,” A Compelling Tip On How To Be A Faithful Intercessor –

Matthew Lily has heard a lot of advice and tips on how to be a faithful intercessor. But, after encountering Nancy, his whole perspective changed. Simply because it was not like anything he had ever heard before.

Matthew Lily

Matthew is the founder of the non-profit organization Presence Pioneers. It aims “to build day & night worship & prayer for revival that touches the nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

He and his team have helped plant houses of prayer. Moreover, Matthew authored books about hosting the Presence of God and building a praying church.

As such, he is devoted to sharing the wisdom he received from God about prayer. And he is also excited to hear from faithful prayer warriors on how to be more effective in the call of intercession.

Faithful Intercessor

So, when Matthew got to sit with Nancy, who he considers a “faithful intercessor,” he asked her the secret of staying faithful.

But Nancy’s answer was unlike anything he heard before.

“She paused for a minute,” he recalled. “And I’m like getting ready to get my notes out and [list] top five tips for staying faithful in prayer.”

“She said, ‘He won’t let me go.”

Matthew put his notepad away as he sank into that truth. “Totally different paradigm,” he said.

“For her, it wasn’t about her faithfulness to Him. It was about His faithfulness to her.”

Matthew is encouraging everyone to keep their eyes on God.

He added, “Remember who He is and what He is doing. He is pursuing you with zealous love.”

“Let His love motivate your ministry. Let His desire fuel your prayers.”

Matthew continued, “Let His faithfulness fuel your own. You can only stay steady when you remember that He won’t let you go!”

Call For Prayer: Intercessors For America Urge Christians To Pray Against SatanCon 2023

Intercessors for America (IFA) have called fellow believers to stand in prayer against The Satanic Temple (TST), which plans to hold a SatanCon 2023 in Boston.

Intercessors for America

TST will reportedly hold a SatanCon, which promises satanic rituals, this coming April 28-30. And the theme for the said event will be “Hexennacht in Boston,” which means “Witches’ Night.”

Moreover, TST claims themselves that they are a nontheistic and that they don’t believe in supernatural, especially Satan. They label themselves as an “intellectual” group, aiming “to encourage benevolence and empathy among all people, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practical common sense and justice, and be directed by the human conscience to undertake noble pursuits.”

But IFA warns believers that this is one of the enemy’s schemes. “Satan wants us to believe that he is not dangerous or evil.” They added, “It reflects communist ideals and normalizes rituals, practices, declarations, and beliefs that are a gateway to allowing satanic footholds in people’s lives. There is real satanic power in all these things, and this power will ensnare anyone who participates.”

The prayer organization is pushing back its plans with its three approaches, “news, prayer, and action.” They are raising awareness against the lies of the enemy, and taking action against TST’s plans, including its adovacy for abortion.

Former satanist

Former satanist but now evangelist Jon Ramirez calls out TST for disguising themselves as “satanists who don’t serve satan.” He said, “These people are a bunch of jokes because this is how they trap people.”

He added, “On the front door, they say, ‘We call ourselves Satanists, but we don’t serve Satan.’ But then that’s like a Christian saying, ‘I’m a Christian, but I don’t serve Jesus.’ How can you be a Christian not serving Jesus? Either you have one master, or you have the other.”

Based on his 25 years of experience as an occultist, Jon declares that satanists build temples in places “so demons and spirits can work in the atmosphere of those regions to really bring destruction to the people.”

TST may plan to bring destruction, but as followers of Jesus, we are called to destroy the works of the devil. Join the Intercessors for America to pray and fast so that “these efforts will actually backfire and instead embolden and empower the Church.”

Your Prayers Matter

Guys, did you know that your prayers matter? They actually matter. They shift things in the earth. You know, it’s like we have our personal prayer time with the Lord where we pray for things that are concerning us, whether it’s, you know, your finances, your family, your job, whatever it is. But then the Lord calls us to a place, an intercession, where we begin to partner with Him and we begin to pray the prayers of Jesus.

The word says that Jesus is at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. And so I just wanna encourage you, prayer, intercession is such a powerful tool where you can say, “God, what are you praying?” You know, we see just so many things on the news. I feel like we’re just being bombarded with just chaos in the earth right now, and it’s so easy to become overwhelmed. But guys, God has a solution. And we can take time and we can say, “Lord, what are you praying about this situation?” And we take time and we listen, and then we begin to partner with Him, and we begin to pray the prayers of Jesus on the earth.

And sometimes I don’t feel like I have enough faith, and I don’t feel like my prayers matter, but I know for sure that I can bank on the prayers of Jesus. And so I lean in and I say, “God, what are you praying about this situation? What is your heart for this situation?” And then I just begin to pray out what I feel like the Lord is saying, you know, about whatever it is that’s on His heart.

And so I just really just want to encourage the body that we would begin to step into just that deeper realm of intersection, that deeper place of just praying, just partnering with God. You know, the word says, “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray.”  It doesn’t say if we will humble ourselves and make Facebook posts and Instagram posts, if we will humble ourselves and become loud and angry. But it says, if we will humble ourselves and pray, then God will heal our land.

And so, I’m just gonna take time just to pray for our nation right now, and just that faith would arise in you to just begin to pray just the intercession of Jesus. And so, Lord, we just humble ourselves and we just, we pray God for our nation, Lord, we ask that you would just give us your burden for this nation, God, that you would give us your burden for people, for people groups, for cities, God. For states, Lord. God, that you would yet just begin to just pour out the intersection of Jesus on the earth, God. And that we would see just a wave of healing, God, just touch our land. God, where there is pain, God, where there is blood crying out in the streets, God, that your blood speaks a better word over this nation. God, we ask that you would finish the good thing that you started, God, that you would make your name known in the earth. In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

You Can Be In The Secret Place All The Time

God says that He will provide a way of escape in times of trouble. What is this way and place to escape to? I believe it is the secret place of His holy habitation. This is the place where our spirit communes with His Spirit. This is the place where we can hide and be ministered to by His Spirit. When we are in trouble we look for solutions to get us out of it. This is a natural response as none of us want to be distressed by our circumstances. However God says we need to trust Him during these times and not our own ways. Our ways may lead us to look for solutions in the wrong places. Many resort to drugs and alcohol as a way of escape.

Habitation

God has a place for us to dwell in all the time. This is His place of habitation. We do visit this place from time to time especially in prayer. However we can operate from this place all the time. In the world we are taught to function in different roles to achieve different tasks. In the Spirit we operate in the same position but use different strategies. God’s strategies are His ways. When we come to know His ways, we become more familiar with His personality. His ways are based on righteousness and truth. Our ways many times are selfish and self preserving. God sometimes allows us to face difficulties to mature us to be like Him.

Hiding Place

The secret place is our hiding place. In the Spirit we are not limited in time or space. We can be in the Spirit wherever we are. We can pray in the spirit all the time whilst we are doing our daily chores. In the Spirit we can go places and minister in the Spirit to people. God’ s Spirit will put His burdens on our heart and we can pray through to deliverance. This is how the Kingdom of God operates. Sadly the church has lost the art of intercession. Jesus took time to pray and be charged in His spirit. He continues to pray for us as do all the saints in heaven who have gone before us. We need to take our place on earth to cooperate with heaven to establish His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

240 Korean Christians Traveled Across The US To Pray For Revival: “Bring The Fire Back To America”

Two hundred forty Korean Christians went to 21 cities across America, praying for a great awakening in the country. Pastor Jae Choon Choi shared, “Just as the first missionaries from the United States came to our nation and spread the fire of the gospel, we want to bring that fire back to America.”

240 Korean Christians

Pastor Choi from Seoul’s Kwangmyung Church led his team of prayer warriors and traveled more than 6,000 miles to bless the USA. They have blanketed Bellingham, Washington, Los Angeles, Maine, Miami, and other cities with their prayers.

They arrived on the week of the 49th anniversary of Billy Graham’s 1973 crusade in Seoul. The remarkable revival crusade reportedly gathered 3 million Koreans. And at least 75,000 committed their lives to Jesus.

The 5-day conference brought a tremendous impact on South Korea and the other parts of the continent that is still felt today. It left a historical mark on Asia’s Christianity.

Keum Ran Lee, one of the Korean intercessors, recalled the momentous time. “Even though I was small when the crusade happened, I know millions of people’s lives were impacted by that event. And eventually led to the explosion of the church movement in South Korea.”

As a result, Korean Christians see it fit to pay back to America.

Third Great Awakening

Russell Evenson, a World Outreach Worship Center pastor, expressed his gratefulness to CBN News. “They know that America is in trouble and that America stood with them.”

He added, “They want to stand with America in this time that America is in spiritual trouble. And simply praying for a Third Great Awakening in this nation.”

Pastor Evenson accommodated ten intercessors and led them through essential places in Virginia.

Last Saturday, all 240 Korean intercessors joined the local churches to attend the March for Jesus rallies. The celebratory gathering is simultaneously held across the 21 cities.

Will A New Generation Of Intercessor’s Prayers Bring Change?

One of my favorite people in the halls of faith in the Kingdom is a man named Ress Howells. The reason this man though not as famous as some that we know like s Billy Graham, Kathryn Kulman, Bob Jones, Kim Clement and others. His life of intercession brought forth divine intervention in one of the darkest times in history.

I think besides Lou Engle this man is the greatest intercessor of church history. There is nothing more powerful than men and women of Prayer. Right now with inflation, gas prices, and the situation in Ukraine more than ever we need intercessors, men and women like Ress Howells, that will give themselves to continual prayer.

God told me a while back that I was to give my like to intercession like this man Ress Howells and to call a generation to do the same. The Bible tells us that more than anything God is looking for intercessors and that if we would pray he would heal the land.

Isaiah 59:16 New King James Version
He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.

Isaiah 62:6-7
On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen;
All day and all night they will never keep silent.
You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves;
And give Him no rest until He establishes
And makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

The Power of the Intercessor

There are many more verses that show us that if we would pray and accept the call to intercession that God would intervene supernaturally. I have seen my prayers shift our city elections and bring change nationally and locally. I learned this principle from men and women like Lou Engle and Ress Howell – the power of the intercessor.

Ress Howell was raised up in a time of uncertainty much like ours. He was raised up during the time of Hilter and World War II. Many were afraid and paralyzed by fear as many are currently. But not this man. He had a Bible college in Wales and as Hilter advanced so did this intercessor and his company of intercessors began holding extending prayer meetings that Hitlers purpose would not prosper. This is a quote from the life of Howells,

I want to know that the Holy Spirit is stronger than the devil in the Nazi system. This is the battle of the ages, and victory here means victory for millions of people.” –Rees Howells (Grubb 274)

This sounds like a man that was understood the power of prayer. As bombs dropped it is said that these intercessors were in prayer and refused to be evacuated. They were believing God that God’s Justice would prevail. I believe God is again looking for men and women like Ress Howells that will give themselves to prayer.

Better yet I believe the Church is going to be marked by this burden again called travail for our nation. Prayer is the answer to Ukraine and our current crisis. We need crisis intercessors for Ukraine and those that will pray against a possible world war happening in this time. We need those that will say I will be the Ress Howells of this generation or the Lou Engle.

This is what The Joel 2 Generation the ministry I founded years ago is dedicated to. We are under the leadership of Lou Engles upper room network and The Awaken The Dawn movement. God has given me an assignment to raise up a “Ress Howells company” that will bring revival and change to world events through prayer. Will you join me?

If Every Intercessor Would Stand In The Gap, We’d See Revival

There’s never been a more critical time to stand in the gap. What does that really mean? Standing in the gap is a selfless posture, a Christ-like posture. Standing in the gap is making a defense against an enemy attack. In addition, standing in the gap is exposing one’s self to enemy fire in order to protect something or someone else. That may sound somewhat daunting, but when you understand the plan and will of God it’s exhilarating. 

Stand In The Gap

When you stand in the gap God assigns you to, you are standing in His will and nothing by any means shall harm you. When you stand in the gap God assigns you to, God is fighting for you and with you and you cannot lose. Additionally, when you stand in the Gap God assigns you to, you are surrounded with favor like a shield (see Psalm 5:12). He is your rear guard (see Isaiah 52:12). 

As I’ve said many times, God is not a one-issue God. There are many issues on God’s heart, and He will place certain issues on our hearts at certain times. He will call us to stand in the gap – a specific gap. Indeed, I believe God is always looking for someone to stand in the gap, just like He did in Ezekiel’s day. 

“I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.” (Ezekiel 22:30)

Intercessors

If you are an intercessor, there’s a gap for you to stand in. When you find that gap, you’ll be the most effective in your intercessory prayer efforts. Remember, though, that although God may give you specific assignments for specific seasons, He’s not a one-issue God. As intercessors, it’s easy enough to fall into that trap and miss His leading into other gaps in which He needs you to stand, sometimes even only temporarily.

Prayer points for this month:

 

  1. Stand from the womb to the tomb. The pro-life movement is at a tipping point, but the enemy is working to push us off our uncompromising stance. Make a countermove. Push back the darkness that would work to discourage intercessors who have stood firm to take ground in the pro-life movement and break the enemy’s assignment over life.
  2. Also, stand in the gap for the Bride of Christ to come into maturity and unity. With so much strife over these last few months, we’re seeing a glimpse of Matthew 10:21 come to pass: “Brothers will turn against their own brothers …”
  3. Stand for church leaders who have been under much stress navigating a world crisis that includes coronavirus, political turmoil, and in some cases financial strain.
  4. Again, stand for the intercessory prayer and prophetic movements, which are sharply divided in this hour. Pray God would bring clarity, healing, and strengthen what remains (see Revelation 3:2).

More prayer points for this month:

  1. Stand for the persecuted church in the nations of the earth.
  2. And stand in the gap for your nation. God wants to bring a Great Awakening to your nation. Awakenings and transforming revival are predicated on prayer.
  3. Stand for what God leads you to stand for. Do so humbly, with a heart to see His will be done and His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven (see Luke 22:42).

There’s never been a more critical time to stand in the gap. I believe if every intercessor got in his or her God-assigned intercessory prayer gap, we’d see revival sooner rather than later.

Knowing When It’s Time to Shake the Dust Off Your Feet

“Shake the dust off your feet.” I wasn’t really surprised when I heard the Holy Spirit say those six words—but when I read the Scripture in context it sent me into intercession for the ones who rejected the word of the Lord.

The sad story begins in a local church where I was serving on the pastoral staff. The church’s works were good, reaching out to the poor with food, clothing, and shelter. The pastor’s sermons were not theologically deep, but they were biblically sound.

Indeed, from the outside looking in it looked like an up and coming church that was really being the church. It was a breath of fresh air. Soon enough, I discerned a spirit of compromise invading the hearts of leadership. Decision after decision was made to please man rather than please God. I knew these man-pleasing decisions would eventually erode the truth of the gospel in that local body. I just didn’t realize it would be so soon.

The Sin of Compromise

Over the course of a year, I gently but directly pointed out areas of compromise. The senior pastor tolerated a woman with a spirit of Jezebel wreaking havoc in the church. He refused to confront sin of all sorts, from adultery to homosexuality and beyond. Over the course of a year, I was told, in subtle terms, that I was missing God’s heart in these matters.

The day finally came when the compromise was so blatant that it sent me into weeping and travails for the church. After consulting with ministers more experienced and wiser than me, I boldly confronted the growing cancer in love with Scriptural backing that could not be denied. But the prophetic correction was once again rejected. And not only rejected, but I was also actually held in contempt for speaking the gospel truth in a Spirit-filled Christian church! And that’s when the Holy Spirit told me to shake the dust from my feet.

Let’s look at the Scripture: “Whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.” (Matt. 10:14) So what does it mean to shake the dust off your feet? I’ve heard that Scripture many, many times but I had never studied it out until the Holy Spirit gave me the personal instruction.

Why Shake the Dust Off?

Matthew Henry’s Commentary suggests, “At their departure, they must shake off the dust of their feet. In detestation of their wickedness; it was so abominable, that it did even pollute the ground they went upon, which must therefore be shaken off as a filthy thing. The apostles must have no fellowship nor communion with them; must not so much as carry away the dust of their city with them.”

That sounds hard-core but it’s reality. David Wilkerson used to say a “diluted gospel is no gospel at all.” A diluted gospel willfully allows compromise. A diluted gospel refuses to confront sin. And a diluted gospel seeks to please man at the sake of grieving God. A diluted gospel is powerless. And finally, a diluted gospel is no gospel at all.

Henry continues his commentary on shaking the dust off your feet, “It was to signify, that they were base and vile as dust and that God would shake them off. The dust of the apostles’ feet, which they left behind them, would witness against them, and be brought in as evidence, that the gospel had been preached to them, Mark 6:11; Jas. 5:3. … They who despise God and His gospel shall be lightly esteemed.”

Intercede For Those Not Hearing Truth

In Matt. 10:15, Jesus actually said it would be more tolerable in the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for the city that rejects the gospel. Woah! And that’s what sent me into intercession for the pastors that would not receive the gospel truth the Lord had me to deliver in slow and steady drips over the course of a year.

Sometimes we have to shake the dust off our feet and even shake out our garments (Acts 13:51; Acts 18:6). But before we do, we must have a clear conscience. We must do everything we can to reach those God sends us to. We must not leave with self-righteousness or anger but with weeping and intercession for those who refuse to hear God’s truth. Only then can we say “Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean.” (Acts 18:6) Amen.
