Kent and Jessica Hadwood got married when they were still unbelievers. But after six months into their marriage, Jessica found Christ after her brother passed away. While this newfound faith brought her immense joy, it posed challenges as her husband grappled with the changes.

Jessica told Kent about her Christian faith and her desire to obey God in all aspects of her life. But during that time, her husband just kept silent. He found it weird that the person he married was gone. And now, he had to face a different person who was crazy about following Jesus. And since that day, their marriage has become rocky.

Tithing

But despite the situation, Jessica never got discouraged and continued pursuing the Christian faith. As she lived out her obedience to God, she began giving back a tithe of her income to God. Jessica then became faithful in giving because she experienced the blessing of surrendering her finances to the Lord. However, it became the point of conflict with her husband.

Kent found it unreasonable to give large amounts of money to the church as their finances prospered. He also reluctantly agreed to give a portion of his income. He was always unhappy about it and it created more tension in their marriage.

Spiritual Encounter

One day, as Kent attended one of the church worship services, an unexpected supernatural experience hit him. He heard a voice saying, “Go and get baptized.” When he heard that, he couldn’t help but cry. So, he went to the back of the church. He became so emotional that one lady in the church got worried and thought he needed an ambulance. But then he told her in tears, “I need to be baptized.”

On that day, Kent gave his life to Christ and he was never the same again.

A Christian woman shares a reminder for every wife, especially those who are going through a tough marriage. She said that they need to take the focus off of their husband and put it back on Jesus.

Reminder for every wife

The Christian woman behind Proverbs31diary gave a powerful reminder for every wife. She shared one particular day when a part of her marriage died. It was a Sunday when she was in church and praying for God to change her husband. She prayed, “I know you can change these things. I’ve been praying and praying and I know you CAN but you’re NOT.” After that, she heard God whisper to her heart, “Because I’m trying to change YOU.”

Eventually, she admitted that it wasn’t the words she wanted to hear. She believed that there were a few mountains in her marriage that needed to be moved. In that week, before she prayed to God, the Lord allowed her to face obstacles.

“The more I try to control, the less I allow God to work. I did this because my focus was in the wrong place all along. My focus should have been on JESUS, not my husband,” she explained.

Put It Back On Jesus

Meanwhile, she also realized that she should have focused on her sins, wounds, and ways of thinking instead of focusing on her husband’s mistakes. After that reflection, she started to do things differently.

“I cannot change my husband; only Jesus can. The more I nag and argue and produce strife; the worse the cycles get,” she remarked.

She learned to fully surrender her husband and her marriage to God. She tried to let go of that part of her marriage that she couldn’t control.

Furthermore, she highlighted that she unknowingly made her husband an idol. That’s why she thought that God allowed those certain frustrations to happen to lead her back to His feet. She learned that Jesus was the one who was in control. He was the one who brought her peace, joy, and security—not her husband.

“Yes, my husband is the middle man and a TOOL that the Lord uses in this physical life on earth. But Jesus- HE is the ultimate husband, provider, protector, giver of love and joy, and giver of peace,” she stated.

Lastly, she reminded every wife, “Take the focus off of your husband and put it back on Jesus and YOU.”

Camille rose to fame quickly and achieved her dreams. However, at the age of 22, all the years she spent building her career in the entertainment industry suddenly crumbled. The actress became pregnant with her son while unmarried and faced a challenging decision. Despite her manager’s advice to leave the country temporarily to give birth and pretend her son did not exist, she chose not to. Instead, she decided to keep her son, marry her then-boyfriend, and put an end to her career.

Questioning God

At that point, Camille’s life underwent a drastic change as she swiftly left the limelight. Subsequently, she began to question God.

“It felt like a rug has been swept from under me and my life was turned upside down,” she recalled.

However, another challenging circumstance emerged in Camille’s life a few years later as her career came to an end. Her husband was diagnosed with cancer, and shortly thereafter, he passed away, leaving Camille alone to care for her son, Nathan. She found herself a single mother at 26 years old, and once more, her questioning of God intensified.

Finding Jesus

During such a painful experience, Camille felt desperate. She realized that God was her only hope. Consequently, she began attending Christian services to deepen her relationship with God. The actress surrendered her life to Jesus and placed her trust in God’s greater plans.

The next thing she knew, God’s promises came to fruition. He transformed her from despair to a life filled with hope. Today, she is happily married with four beautiful children. Camille also serves as an inspiration, guiding many individuals closer to God through her story.

Receiving The Horrifying News

On the evening of May 27, 2021, a Thursday, Daphne Brazil grew increasingly concerned when her husband, Charles, did not return home for dinner. Both she and their daughter repeatedly tried calling him, but received no response. As the clock ticked towards ten o’clock in the evening, the arrival of the police at their residence heightened her anxiety.

Daphne stepped outside and encountered the police officers, who proceeded to deliver the devastating news about the tragic accident involving Charles on the road. According to them, a drunk driver had struck him, leading to his untimely demise. Overwhelmed by the heartbreaking news, the wife found herself at a loss for words, unsure of how to respond. Fortunately, upon learning of the incident, their family and friends swiftly gathered at their home, providing much-needed support during this difficult time.

Turning To God

Initially, Daphne struggled to accept the harsh reality of the situation, finding it difficult to sleep. In her desperation, she turned to God, seeking solace for the overwhelming emotional pain that consumed her. Finding solace in the silence, she actively listened to God, allowing His comforting presence to provide relief and consolation.

Even in the face of such a tragic accident, Daphne harbored no resentment towards the drunk driver responsible for Charles’ death. Grasping the concept of God’s forgiveness, she genuinely embraced the decision to forgive the man.

“The pain and the hurt was still there. But I knew that I had to let God do His job,” she recalled.

Forgiving The Drunk Driver

In the months following Charles’s passing, the entire family leaned on God for strength as they navigated through their grief. Day by day, they found solace in God’s Word, relying on its comforting and guiding principles. Daphne expressed that throughout this process, she never felt alone due to the abiding presence of God in her life.

In 2023, a significant moment unfolded as Daphne confronted the man responsible for her husband’s death. She read aloud a heartfelt letter in which she conveyed her forgiveness towards him. She even prayed that he would “turn his life around while he’s in prison.” Daphne also told him “that God loves him and God has mighty plans for him.”

“Remember this in choosing a husband or wife if you are unmarried,” J.C. Ryle said. “It is not enough that your eye is pleased, that your tastes are met, that your mind finds congeniality, that there is amiability and affection, that there is a comfortable home for life. There needs something more than this. There is a life yet to come.

Think of your soul, your immortal soul. Will it be helped upwards or dragged downwards by the union you are planning? Will it be made more heavenly, or more earthly, drawn nearer to Christ, or to the world?”

Listen To The Holy Spirit

The message has blessed thousands, reaching over 26,000 engagements from followers. One follower named Gina Gomez shared her story in the comments, affirming J.C. Ryle’s advice to singles.

Apparently, Gina experienced deception in her marriage that led to separation. At first, she thought she married a great man of God. But later, she discovered he wasn’t who he portrayed to be.

She wrote, “You know what’s crazy about this is that I thought I did find a good partner who loved the Lord and helped me in my walk, encouraged me to be closer to Jesus. And I found out recently that he had been molesting my daughter since she was 5.”

Gina couldn’t believe what her husband had done and sought God for comfort and guidance.

“Now I no longer have a husband and don’t want one after this,” she added. “I can’t trust anyone now. But one thing for sure is that my walk with the Lord has never been closer than before.”

Sh advised the singles, “Not saying this will happen to you but it can and it’s best to listen to the Holy Spirit and not just to fulfill your carnal needs.”

Choosing who to marry is the second most important decision a person will ever make in this lifetime, next to following Jesus. If you are single and desiring to be married, start praying and let the Lord lead you to choose the right person.

Ministry Founder And Wife Shares Prayer Points To Pray Over Husbands

Vanessa Martindale, co-founder of Blended Kingdom Families Ministry and wife to Scott, shared a helpful guide for wives on what to pray over their husbands.

Vanessa and Scott have committed to equipping marriages, breaking the generational cycle of divorce, and uniting blended families with the truth of God’s Word.

The couple believes that prayer is one of a believer’s weapons against the plans of the enemy. And so, Vanessa gave a list of Biblical references on what to pray for the husband.

Prayers To Pray Over Husbands

  • Pray that he would be a man after God’s own heart.

Acts 13:22 reminds us how David pleased God because of his heart. He was called “the man after God’s own heart.” In the same way, pray for your husband that he will become a man who pursues God’s heart above all else.

  • Pray for him to have the mind of Christ – renewed and discerning.

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”

  • Pray that he would be strengthened and protected from the schemes of the enemy.

The enemy aims to destroy marriages and families. But we are not ignorant of his schemes. Claim the promise of God’s protection and help so none of his attacks will prosper against your husband.
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.” (Psalm 28:7)

  • Pray for him to have strong, Godly friendships that would encourage and build him up.

Proverbs 27:17 proclaims, “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.”

  • Pray that his joy would increase and that he would abound in hope.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

Vanessa encouraged fellow wives to press in and step out in faith in declaring God’s power over their husbands. She said, “One of the greatest gifts we can give our husband is the gift of prayer.”

In Ephesians 5 Paul explains that the husband should be the leader of his family. God has designed men to be leaders. However, many husbands today are afraid or unable to lead their families. When that happens, it is often the woman who takes on that responsibility.

“Adam was supposed to tell Eve. He was supposed to be the spiritual leader, the head. What happens is when the man doesn’t lead, and the woman says, ‘Okay if you won’t lead, I’m going to lead here. Take this fruit, eat it. I think you should do what I do.’ And now look what happens. So when there’s that kind of imbalance in our marriage. It all falls apart,” the Grace Prosser said on her Instagram post.

Husband’s leadership

Men of God should be confident and bold enough to lead their families, that’s how God designed men. He is the one that gives the strength and wisdom to fulfill that role.

“So what I’m hearing you say is that you want me to lead. As a woman of God, at least you desire your husband to lead,” her husband answered.

Women of God, don’t be afraid of man’s leadership.

Grace went on to share, “Because I’m not threatened. I know who I am, I know who God’s called me to be and I’m not threatened by your leadership. I’m not threatened by you being the head of our family and house. I’m not threatened by you being the king because I know I’m the queen.”

Love Is A Choice

John was confronted by the greatest decision of his life. He had recently changed the focus of his career but, unfortunately, his new business was failing. His income had all but dried up. He was depressed and despaired. John was married with 2 young children and though his wife was doing what she could to keep the family afloat, their finances were thread bear. John and Pam drifted apart and they fought almost every day. John thought that if he could only walk away and start over, he would be happy. He used to love his wife when things were good but now… John faced a choice: to love or leave.

Jesus had just eaten a hearty meal for Passover and taken a walk up the Mount of Olives with his friends to pray. It was late. The eastern horizon was shifting to gentle mauve hew. Jesus knew that in a short while, he would be arrested, convicted and sentenced to death by crucifixion. His friends had fallen asleep against the trees. He loved these guys and Jesus knew that Father loved the whole world. After all, he had said these words in his teaching: “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son,” and this love would be demonstrated by the event which was about to take place. He could have woken his disciples and led them back to town to go to bed. Jesus faced a choice: to love or leave.

Greater love has no one than this than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

Love is a choice. The butterflies and sparkles may have faded. The one you chose to say, “I do,” to, may not boast the same physique they had when you walked down the aisle. He or she may irritate you more than a thorn in the flesh. Your life circumstances may have changed and, as you face difficulties and trials at every turn, you may desire to simply walk away. You face a choice today: to love or leave. Only by the grace of the One who loved you and gave his life for your life can you make that choice. So, above the lure to take the easy way out, I say you today, choose love.

Husband And Wife Contracted COVID-19

Autumn Carver and her husband, Zach, were expecting their third child when an unexpected sickness infected their family. Amidst the pandemic in 2021, the couple contracted COVID-19. The husband recovered, but the pregnant wife did not. Her condition worsened, and she had to be admitted to the ICU.

Soon, doctors diagnosed Autumn with acute respiratory distress syndrome. And while battling COVID, the mom had to undergo an emergency C-section to save her baby. This resulted in her condition becoming more critical that she had to be on advanced life support.

Prayed To God For A Miracle

Doctors told Zach her wife might not survive, and she had a zero percent chance. But Zach did not trust that news. Instead, he prayed and asked God for a miracle. He also posted the prayer request on social media, reaching millions online. As a result, millions worldwide contended in prayer with Zach for Autumn’s life.

Later, the main doctor told Zach to let her wife go by taking off her life support already, given her condition. But Zach firmly declined, believing that God would show a miracle. And indeed, a miracle unfolded when they met a renowned thoracic surgeon for a second opinion. That’s when they received the news that Autumn would be okay because she would no longer need a lung transplant.

A few days later, Autumn continued to show promising signs of recovery. Zach praised God for the miracle and never stopped praying for her.

Three months later, doctors finally released Autumn to be discharged from the hospital. And as they went home, neighbors greeted them with a warm welcome home.

Today, Autumn considers every day of every moment with her family a gift from God. Meanwhile, it has been a lifestyle for Zach to pray with his kids every single night.

Sudden Loss Of Husband

Just after a year and a half in her marriage with Carmine, Christina gave birth to a baby girl named Roma. It was her husband’s dream to build a family. He loved her daughter so much. But as they were starting to build a family, Carmine began having severe headaches.

Carmine’s frequent headaches worsened as time went by, so the couple visited a doctor. But the doctor diagnosed his headaches as merely stress-related, and they went home. But a few days later, Christian found her husband having seizures.

Still shocked, Christina called 911, and paramedics rushed her husband to the hospital. However, they arrived at the hospital too late. Carmine had already passed away due to massive swelling and bleeding in his brain.

Pain And Grief

On that tragic day, Christina lost her husband. The widow could barely handle the pain and grief she felt. Now, she was forced to face life without the love of her life and raise her daughter on her own.

At that point, Christina began having questions, and she felt mad, angry, and in pain every day. Although raised in a Christian home with a strong faith, she was now tested. But in that darkest moment of her life, she experienced Jesus all the more.

For years, Christina chose to cling to the Word of God in the Scripture to process her grief. Despite her questions, she didn’t turn her back on God. And it was because she wanted to show her daughter what trusting God looks like.

God walked Christina throughout the process until she became satisfied with having Jesus. Then one day, God opened an opportunity for her to fall in love again.
