Hinnerk Severs, commonly known as ‘Herb,’ grew up in Germany until his family moved to America as immigrants. Having a Christian mother, he grew up attending church but he never took his Christianity seriously. During his college years, he started drinking and smoking until eventually he fell into drug addiction.
After years of struggling to break the addiction, a Christian man came into the restaurant their family-run to talk to him about Jesus. That man led him to pray the sinner’s prayer. Herb was surprised to see himself changing little by little.

Indian pastor
Herb went a month without doing cocaine but he relapsed and went fell into addiction again. That’s when he got invited to a Christian program where he met an Indian pastor who would change his life forever. Pastor Yesupadam helped him overcome his addiction and live a new as a Christian young man.
Today, he has been a Christian for over 30 years and serves the Lord by helping those in need through their Love and Care Ministry. If it was not for the pastor who journeyed with him through his most difficult moment, his path would have been more difficult. Jesus truly saved his life!
