In one of their creative videos, Christian ministry âImpact Video Ministriesâ shared four helpful tips for Christians struggling with their faith in God.
How To Get Right With God When Struggling In Your Faith
Has your faith in God felt dry lately? You want a breakthrough, but you just seem to keep repeating the same mistakes? Do you feel like God is so distant and something might be wrong with you?
If you want to strengthen your faith, Impact Video Ministries shared four helpful tips to receive your freedom from the struggle.
1. Go back to the Cross
Doing good works cannot make you get right with God. You may be tempted to do good things to make up for your mistakes, thinking God would forgive you in such a way, but donât. Doing good things should come from a heart of gratitude and love for Him, not to make up for what you did. Instead, go back to the Cross and âacknowledge that God loves you so much that He sent Jesus to die in your place.â Focus on your relationship with God, not on the rules you must follow. Repent genuinely.
2.Feelings arenât reliable. Godâs Word is.
Always remember that how you feel is not always the truth. At times, you may feel God is distant from you. But the truth is, God is always near to you regardless of how you feel because thatâs what the Scripture says. Itâs just that our âfeelings are misleadingâ sometimes. So, make sure you âread Godâs Word regularly so that you can keep your feelings in check with what is true.â
3.Input = Output
What are you planting or sowing into your life right now? Is it good for you, or bad? Remember that what you often watch and hear will eventually become who you are. So, if youâre always in tune with social media more than reading Godâs Word, you will reap negativity more than peace of mind. So, learn to focus on Jesus and disconnect from the world.
The ministry suggests, âIf you are going to read and pray, disconnect!â
4.Sin can destroy.
The Impact Video Ministries advises not to tolerate sin because it always has âdestructive consequences.â Instead, one must follow Jesusâ command to âcarry your cross daily and say âNoâ to sin.â
âLook to see if youâre allowing a certain sin to grow in your life and then cut it out,â the ministry remarked. But if you’re still struggling to be free despite your efforts, you can also ask for help from someone spiritually mature who would be accountable to you.
