A village elder in China received Jesus in their town, then everybody started responding to the gospel to receive Jesus.
China’s Underground Churches
Christians are highly and extremely persecuted in China. Missionaries have to smuggle Bibles. According to one missionary who commented on the video, “China is not an easy place to share the gospel or even to carry a Bible without being searched.” Additionally, it is also difficult for believers to worship openly and publicly. Believers meet in underground churches and even in caves.
And sometimes, people are arrested because of their faith. But there are many people who are hungry for the Word of God and the Truth.
A man shared a story about his friends who were missionaries in China.
Village Elder in China
Matt and his wife Becca used to be missionaries in China.
“He shared a story with me years ago. They took the gospel to this remote people group in China. And it was amazing. They shared the Good News of Christ, and all of these people responded to the gospel. They had never heard of Jesus, but they started responding.

“It was just like God poured His Spirit out and did something supernatural. One of the guys that responded was the village elder. And so he was talking with the Americans that were there. And this village elder, after hearing about the life, the death, and the resurrection of Jesus, goes, “Oh my gosh, when did this happen? Was it two weeks ago? Was this like a month ago? ”
“And these Americans looked at this village elder and said, “This happened 2,000 years ago.”
“This guy’s face fell. And he looked and asked them, “What took you so long?”
“If we really care, we will go.”
The Gospel
Jesus came to give us not only freedom for our souls but also to be with Him for eternity.
As you go on with your day, may you be reminded that you are commissioned by Jesus to:
“Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19–20, NLT).
