Grant Troutt shared a profound revelation he discovered in Ecclesiastes 3:11. He emphasized that God put eternity in every person’s heart.

Christian author Madison Prewett Troutt joined with her husband, Grant Troutt, and talked about their love story on the Stay True Podcast. They emphasized the one thing that satisfied them as a couple. Then, Grant talked about what he learned from Ecclesiastes 3:11. It was written, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” He explained that nothing in this material world can fill the longing in someone’s heart, only something supernatural.
He mentioned that when God put eternity in the human heart, it meant that people long for something eternal. “You were never created to be satisfied by something in this world,” he highlighted. Meanwhile, he also said that when it comes to relationships as a married couple, his wife, Madi, could complement and become an amazing addition to his life. However, if he found his identity and purpose in his spouse, then it wouldn’t be good. He believed that he could only find his identity in God alone.

Only Jesus
Furthermore, Madi shared, “I do think we can have that thought that when we get married, we will feel more confident, more purposeful. And in a way, maybe because that person does add value to your life. When it’s the right person. When it’s a Godly person. But truly, at the end of the day, like he just said, only Jesus can fully satisfy us,”
Moreover, in line with what Grant shared, Madi quoted Matthew 5:6, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” For her, this verse meant that seeking, knowing, and having an intimate relationship with Jesus would lead people to experience satisfaction.
