Lindell Cooley, who served as a worship leader in the Brownsville Revival went through open heart surgery due to a health scare.

The Grace Church pastor has been known for his soulful gospel and rock-infused contemporary worship music. During the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola, Florida in the 1990s, he served as a worship leader. On the evening of March 23, Lindell was admitted to the hospital due to a malfunctioning heart valve. On his ministries’ Facebook page, a call for prayer was posted alongside updates on his health battle.
“We finally found out the reason for his worsening shortness of breath. Another heart valve, the mitral valve, is leaky and blood flow is refluxing from his heart back into his lungs, which has been causing pulmonary edema and shortness of breath,” posted on his Facebook page.

He then went through an open heart surgery to repair a malfunctioning heart valve. Lindell even posted a video of himself in the hospital bed to ask for prayers.
In another Facebook update, the ministry informed everyone that their prayers have been answered! The open-heart surgery to fix his heart valve was a success.
“Lindell is finally done with what ended up being a technically very complex surgery which took more than twice as long as anticipated. After discussing his case with the two cardiothoracic surgeons who operated on him (and a third thoracic/lung surgeon who was called in to assist, see below), it is clear that the main goal was accomplished, and that the end result is as satisfactory as it could be.”

Prayer for recovery
Though everyone is celebrating this good news, pastor Lindell Cooley still needs our prayers as he recovers from the surgery.
“He is in a much better place than after his first surgery in terms of prognosis and the likelihood of recovery. But not out of the woods just yet so please pray that no complication will occur during the next hours/days and that God will watch over his recovery process.”
Let us pray for Pastor Lindell’s quick recovery. And let us also pray that the Lord will bring comfort and restoration to his entire family.
