Lauren Daigle returned to the stage of “American Idol” after 12 years with a wonderful performance of her single “Look Up Child” during the Gospel-packed episode of the show.

In 2009, Lauren Daigle first appeared on the popular television show “American Idol,” to audition. However, she received no’s from judges Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi, and Randy Jackson. That experience she had with the show became a part of her journey to becoming who she is as an artist today.
“When I was 17, I tried out for ‘American Idol.’ I look back on that, 10 years ago, and I think, man, the journey has been so incredible. Like it really has. This show gave me something to believe in; it really did,” the Grammy Award-winning artist shared during her appearances on the show in 2019.

On April 19, the Grammy Award-winning artist returned to the stage of “American Idol” for a special performance. Lauren performed her single “Look Up Child,” which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 Chart when it was released in 2008. Lauren’s wonderful performance reminds us that God wants us to look up to Him whenever things get tough.
Gospel-packed episode
The show’s episode is a special “Comeback” episode that features former contestants, including 10 finalists from last season. It was a Gospel-packed episode as many guest artists performed faith-based songs including “Voice of God,” and “Say Yes.”
Legendary musician and “American Idol” judge, Harry Connick, also appeared in the episode. Harry performed a medley of his latest Christian release “Alone With My Faith.”
Lauren Daigle first auditioned for the show and now became a multiplatinum-selling Christian artist.
