The world chooses people based on physical traits, talents, and experience, but the blood of Jesus is what already qualified us. King Jesus died on a cross made for sinners. To some, that may look weak, but it is the most powerful and amazing gift God gave to the world. It’s the foundation on which we live, and His gift is for anyone who will believe.
Revive Nations Shares A Message On How God Qualifies People
Revive Nations is based in Canada and India and is led by Prophets Shyju and Tiny Mathew. Their mission is to see nations fall in love with Jesus all over again. They believe that revival always starts in the heart of one surrendered lover of Jesus.
Shyju Mathew shares a message that brings encouragement to those of us who don’t necessarily feel qualified for the work in front of us. He says, “The way that God works, is that He puts His glory in earthen vessels.”
He also speaks about being able to receive from people that we might not choose first. It’s like how Samuel tried to anoint all of David’s brothers, but God chose David, the youngest brother who wasn’t even invited to the “party.”
God’s Way Is Better
God looks at the heart, and He sees us through His Son, Jesus, who took on flesh and died in our place. He is a good God who has a good plan and a reason for everything He does. He qualifies people that the world would least expect.
“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart'” (1 Samuel 16:7).
Our tendency is to look for the strong leaders, for the ones who have obvious gifts, but can we trust that God is working in those who look weak or small? Maybe you are the person who feels weak or small. A surrendered Christian brings so much to the body of Christ. Every member matters.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9).
He Qualified Us With His Grace
“Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” (2 Corinthians 3:4-6).
If we are to see ourselves the way God sees us, we need to believe that it’s by His grace that we receive anything. We don’t boast in our works, we boast in Him, and He wants to do so much through us. He wants to see people healed and set free. Maybe you are the instrument whom He will work through today, if you will surrender to Him, and believe that you are His child, a co-heir with Christ.
We also need to see others by the Spirit, because that is how God sees them.
“From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer” (2 Corinthians 5:16).
Application
As Shyju Mathew says, “God puts His glory is earthen vessels,” we can learn to see ourselves and others in this manner. When we don’t understand, we can remember Proverbs 3:5, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
God’s plan for your life is amazing and full of hope. Consider how He sees you and how He loves every vessel in the body of Christ. Ask Him to help you see the way He sees today.
Prayer
Father, thank you for making us co-heirs with Jesus. We declare that we are filled with His fullness, and that you are the God who provides our every need. We ask for the eyes of our hearts to be enlightened today, to see the way that you see. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
