Actor Jesse Metcalfe stars in ‘God’s Not Dead 2’, and recently, he talked about how becoming older made his faith stronger.

In the recently released full-length movie “On a Wing and a Prayer,” the actor plays a big role. It’s an “extraordinary true story of faith and survival.” The story focuses on saving “his entire family from insurmountable danger after their pilot dies unexpectedly mid-flight.”
When portraying a real-life person, actor Jesse Metcalfe said there is a “lot more responsibility” and that it is amazing to be a part of bringing a true story to life.
“Sometimes, life is stranger than fiction,” he said. “[It’s] a pretty remarkable story,” he said. ”But it’s also about … having faith in yourself. Ordinary people can do extraordinary things when you know life is on the line,” he added.

Stronger Connection to Faith
The actor also shared about his faith in connection to getting older. “I have a much stronger connection to my faith as I’ve gotten older. I don’t know if it’s because, over time, life just humbles us all when we need to look to something bigger than … our problems on this earth,” he said.
“But I believe having a spiritual connection to a higher power is what is missing from most people’s lives,” he added.
Jesse has been open about his faith, which he came to know years ago when he completed the Alcoholics Anonymous program. He has also been upfront about his battle with addiction and stressed the value of being truthful about one’s difficulties in life.

“[Faith is] really important to me,” Jesse said in 2016. “I really discovered a connection with a higher power and with God as I understand him probably five years ago when I got sober through the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.”
“Life is so much easier when you are authentically yourself and when you’re honest,” he said. “We overcomplicate things.”
The actor claimed that by sharing his experience, it could inspire those who are experiencing similar difficulties.
“I think people need to see people that they look up to or people that they believe are in powerful positions be honest about the challenges that they’re going through. I think that empowers others,” he concluded.
