‘Jesus Revolution’ Actor Gives Glory To God As The Film Continues to Stun Box Office

Jonathan Roumie, the ‘Jesus Revolution’ actor, is giving God the glory for the unexpected success of the film.

The Christian movie “Jesus Revolution” has gained popularity since it was released in theaters. Not only that, the report also claims that it fuels Christians’ desire for revival to occur once more. People were praying in the theaters after watching the movie.

Jonathan Roumie, aside from being a ‘Jesus Revolution’ actor, he is also widely recognized for portraying Jesus in the popular Bible series “The Chosen.”

In this film, he portrays hippie evangelist Lonnie Frisbee, which is expanding its release this weekend by 100 theaters after debuting in 2,475 theaters across the nation.

The film “Jesus Revolution” is based on California Pastor Greg Laurie’s book of the same name. It describes the Southern California revival that swept the region in the early 1970s. Frisbee, the character played by Jonathan, was essential to the spiritual awakening brought on, in large part, by his friendship with Chuck Smith.

‘All Glory to God’

The ‘Jesus Revolution’ actor recently posted on Instagram and gave God the glory for the success of the movie.

He wrote, “My dear friends….this is just too unreal. Thank you for supporting and embracing this film!! All glory to God. Looks like our prayers are being heard. I spent opening day in a monastery in prayer, grateful for all I’ve been given. Because that’s where I needed to be… Reminding myself that serving God and each other is the first priority in life. Everything else is icing on the cake… Or in this case, bourbon vanilla, chantilly whipped cream with maraschino cherries…🤤 Thank you again. 😭♥️🙌🏽🙏🏽”

‘Jesus Revolution’

It was initially expected to bring in $5 to $7 million. However, Box Office Mojo reports that the movie has taken in $20.5 million domestically.

Greg Laurie tweeted, “Thanks to you, more theaters are showing [‘Jesus Revolution’] this weekend. Thank you that have gone to see it more than once. Hollywood is listening! Let’s make this weekend even bigger than last. People are coming to Christ in this film!”

Jon and Andrew Erwin, the film’s producers, received an A+ from CinemaScore and a 99% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making them the first directors in history to receive four perfect ratings.

We are born for such a time as this. God is moving in the media and through the hearts of people who have long awaited such a comeback from the Lord. He is still in charge and sovereign overall.

There’s No Money In Heaven

Will you look at the fullness of my glory, how perfect I am? The earth is not perfect and there is, there is gonna be worse things happening in the earth than what mankind has ever seen. The Bible says that. If the Bible says this, it’s true, but you have to read the right mail, because on the other side of it, it says that we are to arise and shine because our light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon us. And there is half of a verse, half of a verse in Isaiah 60, half of a verse under the entire chapter that says, “Darkness will cover the earth and gross darkness the people.” It is important to understand that, but it shouldn’t be all consuming.

What should consume believers is the environment of heaven, that we get to bring into the earth. Now we have to know there’s darkness cuz we’re supposed to expel it. That’s why heaven’s laughing. That’s what’s supposed to be fun. So I was all confused. It was all serious for me. You gotta watch it because you know this is happening, that’s happening, you know. And then you read in the Bible things like the judgements of God, and we think, hoo, what are the judgements of God? Is God gonna come and beat me up? Is He gonna come and destroy this in my life? Is He gonna destroy that? Is He gonna ruin that? God is a good God and He judges for us, not against us. You understand that? His judgements are awesome. No Christian should be afraid of the judgements of God. He’s gonna judge systems that are keeping people from coming to know Him. And if you are in those systems, if you are in the midst of ungodly systems and they crash, you’ll be delivered out of them. And that should make you happy. Amen? Unless you love the system, then it’ll be an owie. Amen?

Do you understand what I’m saying here? You see, if you love money, for example, if you love money, it says the love of money is the root of what? All evil. And so if you’re driven by the love of money, if everything you do is to get more money, money, money, and it’s your idol, and then God judges the system, because I’ll tell you, there is no money in heaven. You won’t find it. You don’t need it. You won’t find it. You won’t find money in heaven. It’s not there. It’s nonexistent. Is there gold? Yeah. Translucent, gold streets, everything. Is there everything you need? Yes. Is there abundance? Yes. But there’s no money. So if you put all your trust in money, you’re gonna be very disillusioned in the day when you stand before Him, because you can’t get into heaven with that money. It can’t buy you into heaven and there is no money there.

So the very thing that you spend your love on in the earth is nonexistent in the place where you’re gonna spend all eternity. That’s laughable. And so God is, by the way, He is gonna destroy that system. In fact, in one hour, Babylon will be judged. In one hour. Fire’s gonna go to it and it’s all gonna burn up. Now it says in Revelation 18 that when that judgment comes, there are gonna be people on the earth that are gonna cry. They’re gonna stand on the shores watching Babylon burn and say, “Waaaaa!” You know? Everyone that bought and sold and traded, “Waaaaa! It’s all gone!” That’s because they love that system. But you see, the reason why God has to judge that system is because it’s holding people in bondage. And we can’t come into the fullness of the glory unless it is judged. He judges for us, not against us.

Releasing Creative Glory

Part of my relationship with the Lord is writing music to Him and getting to encounter Him through these songs. And something that’s so cool is that He’s allowed us to create art and create things with Him, whether it’s a business or music or books or paintings, maybe even some dance. And we’re able to release our history with God through what we create with Him.

And what I love is that you can write a book about your experience. You could write a song about your experience. You could create a dance routine about your experience that you’ve had with the Lord, and the breakthrough that you’ve had, and that’ll be released to other people as well. It’s amazing how there’s these artists who have written these songs and we may never meet them, but those songs could be a core part of our relationship with the Lord. Those songs could be something that got us out of a really dark place in a dark season. And we get the opportunity to create that, too. You know, those songs for them, those books for them, you know, whatever it may be of that art that they’ve created with God, at one point, that was just an idea in their head just as you’ve had as well.

And I really believe that God has given his children the ability to create beautiful things that can release His glory into the world and to the lives of others. God is always about pouring into us to pour out to other people, to release His love, where we’re vessels of His love and His presence and His glory. And so if you have that in your heart, it could even be poetry. It could even be just, you’re someone who loves to encourage others, and it’s a way of using language to just bless those people around you.

Ask God how you can do that today or this week. And if you, you know, if it’s painting, if it’s a song or a book or whatever it may be, how you can release His love and glory and the testimony of Jesus through your art. Because the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy and it’s prophesying that God has done it once and He can do it again. And whatever the Lord has done before He can do it bigger and better, He can do it over and over again to everyone. And we want people to experience the love of God that we have experienced ourselves. We want people to experience the goodness of God that we’ve experienced ourselves.

And so I want to encourage you to take a part of your history with God that really taught you about His goodness, really taught you about His faithfulness. Maybe His love, His kindness, even the Father’s heart, the way that He allowed you to see that side of His glory and release that through your message to the world, release that through your day to day and the way you love others.

What I love, in the scripture too, is how it talks about the angels that are constantly before the throne. And the angels and elders and they’re casting down their crowns, and they’re saying, “Holy,” every time they look at the Lord. And they do it again, and they’re not just doing that nonchalantly, they are absolutely enamored with what they’re seeing every single time. They’re just in awe of the new facet of God’s glory that they’re seeing. And this has been going on forever, and they are just continually enamored with the goodness of God. And they’re overcome by His beauty and His wonder. And I love that we’ve had experiences as His children, throughout our lives of that presence of God and of our Father, but there’s so much more, and we can also release those experiences that we’ve had to other people so they can experience it as well. Because everything that He’s done in your life is transferable to other people as well.

And so I want to pray for you today, that a creative glory would come over you. That something creative from your inmost being, because you’re made in the likeness of your Father, would be released over you in any area of your life. Even if you don’t see yourself as a creative, that creativity of the Lord is in you because you’re made in His image. So I pray that that would be released over you and that there would be a grace for you to be able to create from the goodness of your Father and all that He’s done in your life. And even to prophesy through your creativity, and to prophesy through your gifts of what you want to see Him do in your city, your family, your workplace, and your nation. In Jesus’ name.

Doctor Gives Up Practice To Serve In Medical Missions Full-Time: ‘Use My Skills For God’s Glory’

A doctor decides to give up his practice to serve medical missions overseas full-time after finding an organization where he said, “I could use my skills for God’s glory in a new way.”

Hearing Gospel In Campus Crusade For Christ

Allan Sawyer found Jesus during a Campus Crusade for Christ when he was still young. During that time, a pastor shared the Gospel with them and asked them intriguing questions that stirred up their minds.

It was a fascinating question for Allan as a former altar boy because he regularly attended church. But he never heard all about what the pastor shared. The pastor preached salvation and explained “The Four Spiritual Laws” to them.

Allan admitted the teaching was “so foreign” to him.

“I thought if you were baptized or confirmed and you went to church, that was all that being a Christian required,” he said. “This pastor was talking about a personal relationship with Jesus when I didn’t even know that was an option.”

Following Jesus

Then, in the end, Allan came to receive Jesus in his heart. He acknowledged he needed Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He then wanted Jesus to be evident in his life and wanted people to see it.’

“If Christ is really inside of me, I want other people to see that and notice it,” he said.

And soon, his confidante friend attested that he had changed. Apparently, the guys in their dorm noticed his changes within six months after accepting Christ. Moreover, his relationship with Christ grew as he attended church regularly.

Becoming A Doctor

Then one day, a physician missionary shared his testimony in the church in serving God through his skills. That’s when Allan felt God speak to him to change his course.

“I heard the Lord say, ‘Allan, if you change your major, you could do what he is doing!'” he recalled. “I walked out of the church and immediately changed my major the next week to biology, which right away felt like the right decision. It was all due to that testimony and God speaking through it to me!”

Medical Missions

As a result, Allan became a licensed physician specializing in obstetrician-gynecologist several years later. And today, he is serving in countries including Africa, Papua New Guinea, Kenya, Zambia, Cameroon, and Uganda. Allan found his purpose in 2003 after a doctor friend invited him to join a medical mission through Samaritan’s Purse. In the field, that’s when he finally made up his mind.

“We saw hundreds of people with all kinds of ailments,” he said. “But that was it for me; I knew I had found an organization where I could use my skills for God’s glory in a new way.”

Dr. Allan gave up his private practice to serve full-time in medical missions. And he has never regretted a thing.

“Being an OB/GYN doctor is so faith-affirming,” the doctor remarked. “Giving that hope to people who have lost it, and doing it in Jesus’ name, is such a privilege.”

Patricia King shares a powerful message about the enemy’s resistance and strategies in our life. The enemy will always try to stop us from experiencing greater things from the Lord. We will always face resistance when we’re about to enter a new realm of God’s glory. But we can overcome that resistance because the power of the Lord in us is greater than the schemes of the enemy.

“Whenever you enter a new realm of encounter in the Lord, you will also encounter resistance when you go in and possess and occupy that realm. You know there’s always resistance, the devil doesn’t give up his territory easily. But you know we’re made for the battle.”

God’s glory

Resistance is a sign that promotion, a breakthrough is coming. Do not let the enemy overwhelm you and distract you from pursuing the glory of God.

“If you have been in a situation where you’ve been feeling that pressure and it feels like there’s warfare all around you, try not to get overwhelmed with the warfare or with the acknowledgment of the pressure. Start rejoicing because a promotion for you is at hand.”

Whatever the enemy tries to throw at us, we are victorious because the glory of God is greater than that resistance. There is a miracle and breakthrough that is awaiting us after we defeat the resistance.

“There is a miracle provision from the Lord in this realm that you are walking in. And any resistance that you are facing, any demonic strategy that is assaulting you is nothing, compared to the glory, compared to the amazing glory that God has to manifest in this season in your life.”

In an episode of Supernatural Life with host Patricia King, Matt Sorger shares his experiences of the tangible glory of God. Before going into details about his encounters, he first differentiated glory from anointing. He defined glory as of the very essence of God.

“When we talk about the glory, it’s more than the anointing which is the outflow of God’s power. That’s like the lightning flashes from God’s hands, it’s the outflow of the tangible power of God. But the glory is more than just that outward flow of power, it’s deeper. It’s the very essence of God,” Matt said.

The glory is all that God is and all that He has. Matt first encountered the glory of God when he was just 14. That moment changed his life forever. He then became a minister that moves with the glory of God.

Matt then continued to share some of his experiences with the glory of God. On one of his speaking engagements, God’s glory suddenly came down and healed a woman with multiple sclerosis. Two years after, he met that same woman and he noticed how different she was since their first meeting. God healed that woman and changed almost everything about her. She now emanates the glory of God.

“The glory lifts the limits off. It lifts any limit man would have on what he could do or a person could do for a person. There are no limits in His glory,” Matt emphasized.

The glory of God shows us who He is and when encountered, lives are changed, illnesses are healed, chains are broken and the captives are freed! Be hungry for God’s glory and make space for the Holy Spirit in your life.

Contending For Revival Across America

There is so much going on around us in our news, and world. Chaos, fear, and uncertainty are at the forefront of our news stations. To some or even many all hopes of a shift in this generation looks hopeless. The statistics and just the simple view of our nation and world look as if we are in trouble. But I believe with every ounce of my being that all hope is not lost. I believe that in the midst of great darkness God’s Glory is about to be poured out and is being poured out on this generation. Revival is coming.

Revival: Hope In Jesus

I want to encourage you that in the midst of all that’s going on around us. That God is ready to partner with his Church to release his Glory in these last days. We are given a promise in several places of scripture that we would see an outpouring of the spirit and glory in the last days.

“And afterward,
    I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
    your old men will dream dreams,
    your young men will see visions.

(Joel 2:28 NIV)

Believe His Word

This promise was not just for the church of Acts. But is a prophecy to the last day church as well. Each generation must believe God for His fire and Glory to shake their generation. Each generation must through much prayer and fasting birth a move of the spirit in their cities and regions. We know that this happened in the book of Acts as 120 prayed and believed for the promise of the father in the upper room. I believe with everything in my spirit that the only hope for our nation is the Glory of God covering a generation. Like it did in the Healing Revival, The Latter Reign movement as well as the Jesus People movement.

I firmly believe that the presence of God returning to the Church in an unusual way is the key to shifting the destiny of a generation. One that is walking away from God and leaving the Church as well as a nation. But the question is what can the remnant do to position ourselves in the center of God’s will? I believe the secret is of course praying and fasting for revival in our cities like never before.

“Announce a time of fasting; call the people together for a solemn meeting. Bring the leaders and all the people of the land into the Temple of the LORD your God, and cry out to him there.”

(Joel 1:14 NLT)

A Perfect Time For Revival

Coming off this lockdown, I believe American is ripe for an encounter with God’s Glory. But we must get hungry again despite what we see in our nation. However, we must not allow the racial division, the political division, and everything else going on in our lives and nation to deter us because the harvest must be brought in.

This generation needs to encounter the God of the generations of old. They need to encounter the God of miracles, signs, and wonders as did our forefathers. I am believing that in this hour of great crisis that fasting, prayer and the demonstration of God’s power is the remedy.

This verse above in Joel gives us the prophetic prescription to see such outpouring and we must not stop until we see God shake this generation. Finally, I have made this the core of my ministry assignment.

Turning Back To God

The Joel 2 Generation picked up the mandate to believe for the Glory of God to invade this generation. After just leaving a Lou Engle Event in Kentucky a man that is a father in the faith to me. I want to invite a new generation to believe with me for a revival of God’s Glory in our generation. Let’s pick up the mantle and see a generation turn back to God.

“For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”

(Habakkuk 2:14 KJV)

In conclusion, this is the promise of God for the end-time Church: that He covers the earth in with His Glory. All we must do is contend for these beautiful promises in prayer and fasting. Let’s believe that the answer is not in the White House but the answer is the revived Church house. Yes, I pray and fast for righteousness in every aspect of government. But my hope is in the God that answers by fire.

Live A Life That Gives God Praise

Glory Unto God

The Glory of God. Oh, to live a life that reflects God’s nature, ultimately giving Him Glory. What does it mean to live a life glorifying God? Also, what exactly does that look like? Everyone’s relationship with God is different, that’s why it’s so special. But, God’s word is clear about certain things we can do as sons and daughters to reflect more of Him here on earth.

Holy Spirit

Furthermore, The Baptism of The Holy Spirit is something so special. In Acts 2:38 it says, “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'” This is true! Being baptized is an outward expression unto God and your willingness to give your life to Him! Additionally, the symbolism of being baptized is to turn away from sin. To turn away from your old self desires, and live in the fullness of what God promises you is a great way to give God Glory.

Spiritual Gifts

In addition, God gives you spiritual gifts. In 1 Corinthians it speaks of these gifts. “Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.” Being able to steward the gifts God gives you gives Him Glory because they should always point back to Jesus!

Glory

Last, but not least, having relationship with God gives God all the Glory. Being able to be a reflection of who He is means you’re reflecting His nature and His heart. This draws people to The Heart of God. Which gives Him all the honor and praise. Remember God is Love. If you have everything right, but don’t have Love, it doesn’t count. Keep your Love on, and never forget what God did for you on the cross. He deserves all the Glory, all the Honor, and all the Praise.

Created For His Glory

2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”

Why?

We often ask ourselves, why we were created? This question may have first occurred to us when we were sixteen. However, we probably didn’t take it too seriously at the time. We probably believed that we were made to enjoy our sweet sixteen, conforming to whatever the world threw at us. After all, everybody does it. But sometimes, the intensity of the question of purpose comes when we find ourselves in a distressing situation.

During such situations, we feel lost and we no longer find help from those who we thought were friends or confidants. In that moment we feel alone. We ask ourselves, “is life actually good? Why were we created?” We might have been sixteen, twelve, twenty, or even fifty when we truly dealt with this question. We were made to ask this question; to find purpose and substance on our lives. I believe that this question is not a self-generated one, but a God-driven one.

Seeking purpose

During that challening time we probably tried to answer the question, we turned to various places just to make sense of things. Some turn to teachers, others try various types of religions. Nonetheless, whilst roaming about, the heart is still empty. We still feel that void that cannot be filled.

I was fifteen when I asked myself this question: “Who am I?” Born and raised in a Christian home, my first and only source of identity was my faith in God. I knew I could not go about, following the ways of the world. I could have searched my I AM in unhealthy relationships, in drugs and alcohol, at different parties, or even in other religions. But I always knew the Love of God was too strong and unconditional for me to not embrace it. At sixteen, I answered this question with: “I AM who God says I AM.” However, this quieted my urge for a purpose-filled life only till the age of twenty when I started studying and seeing how other people lived their lives. I got to search anew the main reason for my life on this earth: “Why was I created?”

The Glory of God

Frustrated with everything I was doing, I lost my hope, I lost that dream of the young sixteen-year-old girl who had thought She WAS who She WAS. It was not easy being who I WAS created to be. This new phase taught me that it takes more than just to know who I AM, but I had to live out my I AM as well. That moment was a moment of enlightenment for me. I started studying the promises of God in my life. And God started revealing who I truly AM. My I AM had a lot hidden, and still hides more things. In all this, my I AM and your I AM are created for the manifestation of God’s glory.

God’s Glory is not revealed at once, but step by step. The more we encounter our Messiah, the more we understand where he wants to use us. By fulfilling this purpose His Glory becomes true on earth. We were created for His Glory. When we strive to fulfill His Glory, we encounter our purpose.

Who are you?
