We all often call for senior pastors or church leaders to pray for someone sick or needing prayers. But did you know you are also capable of what they can do? Because the Holy Spirit in them is the same power working in your life.
“Dynamis” Or Power
In another episode of GOD TV’s “It’s All Greek To Me,” Pastor Chris Demetriou digs into the Greek word “dynamis.” The word is translated as “strength, power, or ability.” This word had appeared many times in the New Testament.
Apparently, the power the Holy Spirit gives is inherent.
“It’s not something that we can go and muscle up in a gym to get,” he stressed. “Not something that someone can give you. It’s something only God can deposit as the Holy Spirit comes in you.”
In the Bible, 2 Corinthians 12:12 remarked on the word “dynamis.” It was written, “Truly the sign of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty (dynamis) deeds.”

The verse reveals that the mighty works of God are a sign of those called by God to be an apostle.
How Does This Relate To Us?
Chris pointed out that we have received this power from the Holy Spirit the moment we received Christ in our life. Thus, it is that inherent power that comes along with accepting Christ as our Savior.
“it’s something that is there whether we acknowledge it or not,” he said. “What we’ve got to learn to do is use it.”
Then he reminded us that the moment we had received the Holy Spirit, automatically, we have that power from God. That is why even if you are not a church leader, an apostle, or a pastor, you can pray for people too. And they will still be delivered, healed, and set free. Because it’s about the Holy Spirit working in the lives of God’s children.
