A preacher recently shared a message about how your decisions are affecting your kids.
How Your Decisions Are Affecting Your Kids
Pastor Crystal Sparks shares a message from the book of Nehemiah. In the full sermon, she unfolds the four ways the enemy attacked Nehemiah’s plan to rebuild. She also shared how his battle plan allowed him to succeed.
“God had a son without sin, but He never had a son without trial,” was written in the caption.
Furthermore, she shared how your decisions are affecting your kids.
“The battles you refuse to fight, your kids will have to fight. And how your decisions are affecting your kids. The battle that Saul didn’t fight back in 1 Samuel is now the battle that Nehemiah is fighting in this chapter of life. Your inability to confront lust means your son is going to fight that battle. Your inability to confront insecurity means your daughter is going to fight that battle. And your inability to break the cycle of divorce and addiction in your family means your kids are going to have to fight that battle,” she said, full of conviction.
God Overcame The World
But praise God, because you don’t have to fight alone! In John 16:33 (NIV) Jesus says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Jesus has already won the battle and has defeated death! All we have to do is surrender our will to His so we can access His victory.
Pastor Crystal then went on to say, “And I’m here to announce to you that it’s time for you to begin to arise and fight. It’s not time for us to back down. It’s not time for us to walk away.”
Your Decisions Are Affecting Your Kids, So Arise And Fight
“This attack on Nehemiah shouldn’t ever have happened. But because of one man’s passivity, it’s now generations later that they have been attacked. How many more generations is the enemy going to take out in your family until you stand up and say enough is enough?” the pastor added.
Sometimes, it may be overwhelming to face trials, let alone fight them. But praise God because “God didn’t give us a cowardly spirit but a spirit of power, love, and good judgment” (2 Timothy 1:7, GW).
The Holy Spirit will empower you to overcome the enemy. “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts” (Zechariah 4:6, ESV).
