What kind of church do you belong to? Maybe you don’t belong to a church at all. Here in County Kildare, I came across an old church, Lacca church. This used to be the site of an old medieval Catholic church, 14th century, and then it became a Protestant church. And now I think it’s something way better. Follow me. It’s not a Protestant church or really a Catholic church anymore. And you might say, “Yeah, it’s a better church. It’s an empty one.” That’s not the point that I want to make. Here’s the point that I wanna make. It’s a church that has an open heaven above it, the roof is off the church. In Deuteronomy chapter 28, there is this challenge to those who are obedient to the word of God and those who are disobedient to the word of God. Let me read it to you. Deuteronomy 28:1, It says this “Now, so come to pass, if you diligently obey to the voice of the Lord your God, and observe carefully all of His commandments that I command you this day, and that the Lord your God will set you high above the nations of the earth.” And then on to verse 12, and it says this, “And the Lord will open His good treasure and open the heavens to you.”
Pastor John Kilpatrick had a revival in his church in 1995, and for seven years before that, they had been praying for revival. And he wrote a book about that experience. The book is called When the Heavens Are Made of Brass. For seven years, they prayed and broke through the brassy heavens that experienced the open half in of revival upon church.
And I want to pray for you and pray for your church right now, that you would experience the open heavens, that you would experience a fresh wind and revival fire upon your life and your church. Let’s pray together. Father God, I pray for everyone who is watching this broadcast and for every church that is represented, that great grace, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ would be upon them all. That the heavens would be open and that you would pour out such a blessing that we cannot contain it. Pour out a fresh revival and start with us today, we pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
