Hispanic Faith Leader Says The Revival Spreading Across The Nation Is Not A Coincidence

A Hispanic faith leader recently said that the revival spreading across America is not a coincidence, but a divine providence.

Samuel Rodriguez is the senior pastor of the New Season Church in Sacramento, California. He is one of the nation’s most prominent Hispanic faith leaders. He is the president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), the largest Hispanic Christian organization in the world, which includes more than 42,000 churches in the United States and numerous other churches dispersed throughout the Spanish-speaking diaspora.

In a phone interview with Fox News Digital, Rev. Samuel Rodriguez stated that it is no coincidence that the runaway hit movie “Jesus Revolution” came out at the same time that Asbury College in Kentucky hosted a Christian revival attended by thousands of people (which has since spread to other locations).

“If you were a skeptic, you would label this as a coincidence. But if you’re a person of faith — you see this as divine providence. It can’t be a coincidence,” he said.

Furthermore he added that it is great news. “God is in charge. God is up to something.”

The Younger Generation

Many people, Christians and non-Christians alike, were inspired by the revival which the younger generation initiated. Students and the youth literally went the extra mile to quench their hunger and thirst for more of God.

That’s why the Hispanic faith leader said that what’s happening right now is “unbelievably interesting.”

“During COVID,” he said, “Gallup and Pew had surveys out regarding the ‘Z Generation’ and how it’s the most so-called ‘unChristian generation’ — some have even deemed it the most anti-Christian generation in American history. Well, how about that? Then God shows up — and we have the Asbury revival, and we have this emphasis on generational change and how a mess can become a miracle.”

Additionally, he noted, “You have young people hungry for spirituality, for authenticity, for truth in a world full of fluidity and relativism today. There’s a generation hungry for truth and something that is solid. So I love the fact that God, with a wink and a nod, says, ‘Yeah, sure, you guys think you’re in charge? And you really think I’m no longer involved? Let me show you who’s truly in charge and who’s on the throne.'”

Mess into Miracles

Rev. Samuel Rodriguez released a new book entitled ‘Your Mess, God’s Miracle.’ It talks about how God is sovereign even in our mess. Anyone with the audacity to overcome fear with faith, navigate their mess, and enter God’s miracle will find a helpful, hopeful road map in this book.

“We are all imperfect. We have all sinned and fallen short. That’s us. That’s each and every one of us. And that’s the beauty of the gospel. That is what prompted me,” he said, “to write this new book. Understand who you are. Let’s do away with perpetual victimization mode — and let’s apply the fact that we are conquerors in Christ. We can literally change things with truth, love, hope and grace,” he concluded.

Boxing champion Manny Pacquiao reminded everyone that “God is in control” over the COVID-19 issue that the world is facing.

Manny Pacquiao is a professional boxing champion. He is alo a Philippine senator. Moreover, he is known for his bold faith.

As a Philippine senator, he is among the people fighting the coronavirus on the frontlines. The nation has now over 1,500 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 and it is still rapidly increasing every day.

The Philippines

Well-known for its tropical weather that attracts many tourists, the Philippines has been placed on lockdown. Beach resorts are deserted and traffic-jammed streets are now empty.

The problem is now a huge concern for the citizens and the government is implementing measures to help stop the spread of the virus. On behalf of the government, Senator Manny addressed the nation on a video expressing his gratitude to everyone.

Jack Ma

He first thanked the founder of the Alibaba Group, Jack Ma, for extending help to the nation by giving over 57,000 COVID-19 test kits and over 500,000 face masks.

“I thank God for giving me a friend, Jack Ma, that He used as an instrument to bless the Philippines.”

The boxing champion then thanked his fellow Filipinos for cooperating with the measurements that the government is implementing.

“To all my fellow Filipinos, thank you for your trust in us, the government. And most importantly, thank you for cooperating.”

God’s promise

Lastly, he reminded everyone of God’s promise and that God is still in control despite this seemingly overwhelming situation.

“Let us just trust God who guides us in every way. The Bible says, ‘in this world, you will have trouble but take heart I have overcome the world.’ We are not fighting against flesh but against the darkness. God is in control.”

5 Ways To Keep Your Emotions Under Control

So … I admit I … just like so many others … am a bit of a control freak. And I like to be in control of my circumstances and events and surroundings.  I strive to have answers and a plan for everything. Can anyone relate? During this time of uncertainty, it is increasingly more difficult to feel in control due to daily changes in our world. It is imperative that we take a moment to take a deep breath and bring ourselves back to a place of peace.  Peace is not an emotion, but rather a place we choose to reside in Christ. We CAN choose peace over fear even when things seem out of our control. One thing I know is that we may not be able to control what’s going on around us or what’s happening around the world, but there are a few things we CAN control.

Here are 5 things we can control during this out of control, crazy time:

1. Where we place our trust

Let’s take our faith to the next level.  We must step into a place of trust. So we can trust God (see Isaiah 26:3) Faith is a result of my encounter with God, but trust goes a bit deeper.  Trust is a result of God’s reputation and my relationship with Him. People are looking for answers, be the one who directs them to God, the one they can fully trust.

2. How we react to fear

I love what Winston Churchill said, “Fear is a reaction, courage is a decision.” We must not panic, but rather, use wisdom in our actions (see Proverbs 3:5-6).  When we lean into God and listen to His voice, we will have peace in the face of fear.  Fear is not the absence of courage; it is the embryo of courage. It is courage waiting to be awakened. Be the calm in the storm that directs people back God, the one who can calm them.

3. Choose to disarm fear through God’s word

2 Timothy 1:7 tells us that “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind.”  We need to understand that God did not leave us defenseless.  He gave us 3 very distinctive weapons to defeat fear when it attacks our hearts and our mind, He gave us power, love, and a sound mind!

4. Take control of our health

We can take care of our health so that we have the best chance of fighting off sickness. Use this time to connect with your family while everyone is confined at home.  Spend time with your spouse and your kids. This is a great time to make good on those new year’s resolutions and work on your physical and mental health. Now is the time for us to model that we take care of every aspect of our lives…mind, body, and spirit.  3 John 2 says, “Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”

5. How we treat others

Sometimes, when we are feeling out of control and frustrated and have no answers, it is really easy to think we are the only ones going through difficult times.  This is a great time to model and practice patience and self-control and compassion (see 1 Peter 5:8-9). Let’s remember that we are all in this together.  We can be those who offer hope in the most difficult of times.

Control: Final Words

For all my friends out there who struggle, as I do, with control issues.  Now is your time to shine. Stop focusing on what you cannot control and start focusing on what you can choose to do.  Choose to rise up and be the voice of calm, the voice of clarity and the voice of hope and watch and see if it doesn’t become contagious.  Let’s continue to pray as one body and one voice for our world to have peace and clarity and relief in the form of a supernatural intervention miracle for this virus to be eradicated. Let’s stand united and all work together to be part of the solution instead of the hindrance to our breakthrough.

Anxiety, There Is Something You Don’t Know

Anxiety is a complicated mental problem that 40 million adult Americans struggle with daily. When I had my first anxiety attack I didn’t know what was going on. I thought the worst, of course. It wasn’t until I was in the middle of the attack in the dead of night when my mom told me it was anxiety. I told her that I didn’t know why I was scared. That’s the problem with it though. A lot of the time you aren’t even afraid. Most of the time anxiety can be caused by stress, depression, or literally just genetics.

Over the past years of struggling and dealing with anxiety I have learned that it is not my fault that I have it. But that doesn’t stop me from getting mad at myself for skipping out on social events or not answering phone calls because of it.

A lot of people don’t understand anxiety though. When trying to explain it, the only words that come to mind are drowning and fear. People just think you’re just scared and you just have to “man up” when really you can’t control it. It’s something that lurks in the shadows of your inner being and you never know when it’ll jump out at you. Because of this, I wrote an open letter to my anxiety to help others better understand what it’s like.

Winds Of Change

As I sit here and listen to the wind, a very fierce wind, maybe 30 to 40 miles an hour, I hear the sound of the trees being tossed and turned. The house – at times – sounds scary as the tin on the shed shakes.  In the distance, I hear a cricket singing. If I really get calm I hear the sky talking, it sounds as if airplanes or jets are flying over.
I reflected on the day before. It was a beautiful day, no wind…sun shining, almost unbearable heat, you could walk outside and see clear skies and hear stillness. You could stand in amazement of God’s creation, take a walk, or go for a bike ride. Then I woke up the next day to roaring wind, could not hear stillness, and had to be careful when I went outside.  You could be swayed by the wind, which was not easy for a bike ride or walk. It was early morning before sunrise as I listened to the wind howling. If you listened closely you could  hear the trees talking (figuratively speaking).
What would the trees say? On the day before: calmness and ease. Today: tossed and turned, having a hard time keeping leaves on branches.  Same for the birds. The day before was beautiful, flying was easy. Today it was nearly impossible. What about the spider that is trying make a web? On a calm day, no problem. On a windy day -again not so easy.  All the while the cricket still sings it’s songs in the winds of change.

Winds of Change

The winds of change happen in human lives as well, just as they do for the insects and animals and trees.  We encounter winds of change, or gusts of change, or light breezes of change.  When we are faced with a new change do we embrace it for what it is or do we get tossed and turned and wonder why we cannot stand up or stand straight? Why do we feel as If we have just been through a storm.
When the wind comes do you wonder what damage it is creating or do you embrace the change it brings?  To be honest, sometimes I do not embrace the winds of change, I sometimes have a hard time allowing the change to happen.  Change can be difficult especially when it feels like you are being tossed and turned blowing from here to yonder.
When we embrace winds of change we can either run for cover and say, “I choose to not embrace it, I will stay down with my head covered and not get out or encounter anything or anyone.” Or…You can say, “Today I choose to stay rooted and grounded, give all my concerns and stresses to God and let Him help me with the winds of change.”

Handling Change

I have been on both sides of this, where I have said, “I think I am going to sit this one out and choose to cover my head up and not face it, then also I have said I can do this I do not need help.”
The way that I found the best results is when I say, ” God, I need You to help me, You know how I do not like change, even when it can be beneficial to me, so today I need you to Help Me.”
I have found out in life I can either allow God to help me, or I can completely try to embrace and do it alone.
We all experience Winds of Change, that is how we grow and that is how God can create in us the New things that He desires in us for us to grow.
Today I ask you how will you handle the Winds Of Change in your life?  Will you continue to go around the same mountain and allow change to mold and shape you or will you give the change you are experiencing to God and allow HIM to handle it for you?
He is waiting for us to say ” Help me with the wind, help me with change, help me with life.”
Let go and let God.

Our Setbacks Are God’s Set-up For Success

We often feel victimized when bad things happen to us. We think that it’s not fair for us to be treated badly by others. We feel angry when we are wronged. We treat it as an injustice when someone blames us for something we are not accountable for.  Those feeling of unfairness makes us wonder why such things happen even to good people.

Life Struggles

When we lose our job, when the business fails, when our finances are drained, when our relationships aren’t working, when everything around us is a total mess… we conclude that God is not listening and is not doing anything for us because it seems that He is nowhere to be found or He’s totally silent. We determine that He is just passively watching us from above.

Satan and his allies think that they can pull us down with setbacks. They want to destroy you and derail your walk with God. They want to shake your faith and your confidence. But are wrong!

Unexpected incidents in our lives are actually allowed by God for a reason. It’s part of His divine plan for us to go through setbacks to redirect us to His ultimate plan for our life.  If our focus is on those events rather than the rationale behind them, we miss the point.

But why? Does God want us to suffer more? No. He wants us to trust Him. He wants us to rely on His character as the faithful God who will fulfill His promises during any setback.  They are merely His instruments to bring about the change He wants to see in us.

Setbacks are actually allowed by God to prepare us for something great.

God sets us up for the following reasons:

• So we can open new doors of opportunity;
• To bring new people into our lives who will partner with us in one way or another:
• To provide for us so that we can meet any given need;
• To facilitate a deepening in our relationship with Him and others.

God Is In Control

When we learn to accept that God is behind the scenes orchestrating everything for our good, no matter how people or the enemy tries to make it so bad for us, we can still have that peace that passes all understanding because we know that God is in control.  He knows what we can handle through Him.

It’s not an easy journey to go through, but we can endure the pain, the hardships, and the trials because we know that God has a bigger plan than just allowing us to go through ordeals.  In the end, we will become better people in the process and we will come out victorious every time.  He created us to succeed and to give glory to His name.

Psalm 120:1 says, “In my distress, I called to the Lord, and He answered me.” He will be with us no matter what. Take courage, if we endure we will reap the blessings of our obedience.

Speak Peace To Your Soul: God Is In Control

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)

What is keeping you up at night, causing your heart to race, and elevating your stress level to sky-rocket status? At the mention of “it”…you cringe. We all have that “thing” or “things” – whether it is a short or long list – can occupy our attention and welcome anxiety in our lives.

Let me invite you right now to take a deep breath…literally.

I am joining you at this very moment while I write. Put your feet up if you are able and take time to slow down and reflect on the power of God.

After spending a rather hectic week multi-tasking and burdened with several stressors, ranging from medical to everyday items and everything in-between, I realized the importance of this. Seeing a difference in my behavior, a precious family member lovingly told me that I had been “talking a mile a minute” (the rate of speed that might suggest I had simultaneously had four cups of coffee…although I promise I hadn’t). The comment wounded me a little, at first. But, God reminded me of the Scripture: “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but kisses of an enemy are deceitful” (Proverbs 27:6). So, after the constructive input I received, the comment made me prayerfully evaluate the source: stress. Then, my Spirit spoke and said, “Speak peace to your soul; GOD IS IN CONTROL.”

Wow! Breathe that in…Just saying these words makes me feel lighter. Fifty-pound weights that have rested on both of my shoulders decided that they don’t want to take residence there anymore. I believe someone reading this may have also felt their burdens drop as they, too, began focusing on the sovereignty of the Creator of the universe.

I wish I could tell you that I have completely mastered the art of being completely free of stress and anxiety, but I haven’t. It is a daily surrender to turn off my mind, to recognize I am not in control, and to trust the ONE who is. If you, too, can relate, and like me, haven’t gotten your master’s degree in “Stress-Free Living”, then I have GREAT NEWS!  We can join together and fix our thoughts and hearts on the Bible, the best book to get our “master’s” in this area. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to Me all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” Then verse 30 states that God can carry our burdens! His yoke is easy, and His burden is light! The LORD doesn’t want us weighed down with the cares of this world. He wants us to trust Him enough to lay each care at the foot of the cross and let Him handle everything that concerns us—from the little things to the big things.

Peace resides when we fully recognize that God is in control.

He has already gone before us and behind us. As we come to Him with child-like wonder and praise, the atmosphere shifts and our circumstances minimize as we focus on the greatness of God. Recently, I had the privilege of witnessing a little two-year old worshiping Jesus while he was being carried by his mother. What a sweet and beautiful picture! It reminded me of how – spiritually –  our Heavenly Father wants us to come to him with child-like dependence and allow Him to carry us. John 15:5 says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.” When we submit to the Lord and trust Him with His plans, our eyes are opened to the fact that He can accomplish more than we can ask, think, or imagine in our lives (see Ephesians 3:14-21). Praise is evidence of our trust in God and focuses our attention on the ONE who can move mountains on our behalf. With Him all things are possible (see Matthew 19:26b).

So, as you breathe these truths in, Friend, if you can personally identify areas you have been trying to handle in your own strength, release the weight and hand it over to the ONE who loves you the most. As you focus on the Truth, the fears fall. As His peace floods your heart, may you be encouraged that God is completely able to take care of everything that concerns you.

My prayer over you is 1 Thessalonians 3:16: “Now may the LORD of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The LORD be with all of you.”

Soak in these Scriptures:

“Quietness and trust is your strength.” (Isaiah 30:15)

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15)

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

“The LORD gives strength to His people; the LORD blesses His people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11)

“LORD, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished You have done for us.” (Isaiah 26:12)

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)

“Do not be anxious about anything but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
