A man with a deadly virus called “Yellow Fever” firmly believed, by faith that he was healed by Jesus despite the doctor’s diagnosis.
A Man With A Deadly Virus
Mission trip leader Johan Toet testified about God’s powerful healing. After a mission trip to Brazil, he sadly contracted a deadly virus called “Yellow Fever.” Unaware of his illness, he returned to his home country. A day after his arrival, he felt sick and could hardly speak.
“I could hardly breathe, and I was really, really, feeling really bad… I really felt that I was going to die,” he recalled.
They rushed to a hospital specializing in tropical diseases, where they discovered he had a deadly virus. The doctor warned that he wouldn’t make it, turning yellow, and facing the risk of organ failure. According to the World Health Organization, “Half of patients who enter this toxic phase die within 10 to 14 days.”
However, despite the doctor’s diagnosis, Johan boldly answered, “Let me tell you that I’m not going to die, but I’m going to live because my God has a hopeful future for me.” He prayed to God and chose to remember His words, continually declaring God’s promises.

God-given Authority
He used his God-given authority, declaring, “Now, in the Name of Jesus, I rebuke everything that she [the doctor] told me. I break that curse on my life… That yellow fever must die right now in the Name of Jesus.” He firmly believed that he wouldn’t die, and even if he were to die, he would choose to praise God. Suddenly, he felt the healing manifesting in his body.
“There was peace over me that I cannot explain. I knew I was healed,” he testified.
He then underwent a series of tests, confirming that he was fully recovering. Despite the need for his heart’s complete recovery, he persisted in declaring God’s healing over his life and began exercising. Since then, his health has returned to normal. He was invited to share his miraculous story at a medical seminar attended by hundreds of practitioners.
