A woman who grew up in a household with domestic violence testified about how God led her to a place she could call home.
A Household With Domestic Violence
Jehireh shared a beautiful story of hope and restoration. She talked about the painful past that she experienced and how God led her to a community she could call home. Sadly, she grew up in a household with domestic violence. They would go to church on Sundays and receive the word of God, but on Monday through Friday, it was a completely different story.
She found it hard to reconcile that there was a good God who deeply knew and cared for her while living in a harsh and difficult environment. It was a hard truth for her to swallow, not until she decided in 2019 to completely change her life. It was not that she had a severely bad situation; it was just that she finally made a commitment to pursue God with her whole heart.

God Gave Her A Home
Furthermore, as she pursued God, He gave her a spiritual community. “He made sure He created a space for me that was so safe, and that was so welcoming. And that is so warm. It was, He gave me a joy again,” she testified. She noticed that God made it easy for her to pursue Him. She didn’t find it hard. God created an ideal environment for her to thrive in and understand the gifts that she had.
Moreover, she emphasized that it was the work of the Holy Spirit who met her and gave her all the desires in her heart. She recognized the truth that it was not all because of her effort or her wisdom. When she felt so desperate, she could sense God telling her, “I’m going to give you those desires to pursue me. I’m going to give you community to equip you and to surround you; I’m going to give you a home like you’ve never had before.”
