God’s Word for the Day: God Will Listen

Jeremiah 29:12 invites you to embrace the transformative power of prayer, finding hope, that God will listen to the cries of your heart.

What Does the Bible Say?

‘Then you will call upon Me, and I will listen to you.’ Jeremiah 29:12

This is a timeless promise that answers the question that most likely you along with all other believers have had at some point in your faith journey, God can you hear me? Are you listening? It is a verse that holds the power to ignite faith and will inspire you to seek a deeper connection with God.

In this scripture, the Lord speaks through the prophet Jeremiah, saying, “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” These words are an invitation—a divine summons to approach the Lord, to draw near and pour out your heart in prayer. It’s an assurance that your prayers will not fall on deaf ears but will be met with the attentive and compassionate ear of your loving God.

As a believer, you may often find yourself wrestling with questions, uncertainties, and the complexities of life. Yet, Jeremiah 29:12 reminds you that you have a God who not only listens but also responds. It affirms that your prayers matter and have the power to shape your journey. You are invited into a partnership with God, where your petitions are met with wisdom, comfort, and direction.

This verse paints a beautiful picture of the loving relationship God desires to have with His children. It calls you to a place of surrender—a posture of humility and trust. It teaches you that in seeking God’s will, you must first acknowledge your dependence on Him. As you pray and call upon His name, align your heart with His purpose, allow Him to guide you and lead you into the fullness of His plans.

A couple prayed a specific prayer for healing. Then, God answered their prayer after watching a Christian television program.

Suffering From Dislocated Knee

The 700 Club featured a healing testimony from Michael and his wife, Sandra. Apparently, Michael suffered from a dislocated knee for years. It began when the couple visited their family, and his right knee suddenly popped.

“My leg went numb from the knee down,” Michael recalled.

Later that night, his knee’s pain worsened, leaving him in tears. And for the next two years, the knee pain continued. It also limited his mobility. He could no longer ride his bicycle or climb a ladder. And he “couldn’t bend” his knee.

Over time, Michael could barely walk. His wife Sandra had to get things for him because he couldn’t move sometimes. They had a doctor check on Michael’s knee and discovered “he had a torn meniscus.” The doctor advised he had to undergo surgery.

Michael went through the procedure. But after the surgery, his condition didn’t get better. He suddenly felt constant pain and a “numbing sensation.” Specialists and doctors couldn’t help him.

Prayer For Healing

One day in January 2023, the couple watched “The 700 Club,” a Christian television program. Gordon Robertson encouraged the viewers to lay hands on the people in the room. So, Sandra touched his husband’s knee and prayed with the host.

Soon, Gordon released a word of knowledge and prayed, “Someone else, you’re laying your hand on your right knee, God’s restoring mobility to you. He’s restoring cartilage, He’s able to knit together everything, your tendons, all of it. In Jesus’ Name be healed and be made whole.”

After the prayer, Michael could no longer feel his knee’s constant and numbing pain.

“The pain is gone!” he attested.

God miraculously answers a couple’s prayer despite receiving the doctor’s report that they will most likely will never be able to have kids.

Chris and Kristina Avila

The Christian couple, Chris and Kristina Avila, shared their testimony about how God faithfully answered their prayer. It was midnight when Chris got home from 3 days of speaking in a youth camp, and his wife unexpectedly delivered a sad news. Kristina walked into their room and started crying. “I just had a regular annual check-up with my doctor, and told me that I had an auto-immune issue called polycystic ovarian syndrome,” Kristina shared. This is the leading cause of women’s infertility. According to Chris, the doctor said she would most likely never going to have kids.

Meanwhile, Chris’ faith remained steadfast despite the bad report that they received. “There is just something that my spirit does. Like we’re not gonna take that news, we’re gonna believe for greater. We’re gonna believe God to do something greater. That’s it’s His will for us to have a family,” Chris testified.

Couple’s Prayer

The couple chose to surrender to God and submit their heart’s desire through prayer. Every night, Chris would lay hands on his wife’s stomach and speak life to her womb. He believed that God could perform a miracle. Indeed, God answered them. They got pregnant for the first time, but unfortunately, lost the baby. And that painful experience left them devastated.

“After every miscarriage, it kind of just, the blows hit different… I felt broken as a woman. Like the one thing that I can do as a woman like I just couldn’t do,” Kristina recalled. On the other hand, Chris’ faith was also shaken, and he started asking God difficult questions. But their story doesn’t end there.

A friend referred them to a doctor who could help Kristina. The doctor encouraged her to stay healthy by changing her diet. Within two months of disciplined habits, they had breakthrough. “Before I knew it, I was pregnant again…I know that I had to rely on God to just sustain me and sustain this pregnancy,” Kristina shared. Chris also added, “We just knew that it was God’s heart. For us to have a family, and we just knew it. We just keep praying and fight for it.”

Today, they have 3 amazing kids and they are now fulfilling the calling planted in their hearts as parents!

Christian evangelist recently shared an incredible evangelism encounter with a Professor. He was riding through the local college when a man suddenly called out to him. Surprisingly, the Jewish man was a Math Professor at the college. Later, the evangelist discovered that he really wanted to meet to talk about Jesus.

“I’m gonna be real honest. I’m concerned about my immortal soul,” he told Ray.

In their conversation, the math teacher revealed that he had watched videos of Ray on YouTube. He watched Ray’s evangelism conversation with Mickey, his colleague who doesn’t believe in God. And for that reason, he desired and prayed that he could meet Ray and talk with him about Jesus.

Hearing The Gospel For The First Time

The teacher admitted how it deeply troubled him that he was uncertain of his eternal destiny. He also shared how the conversation made him uncomfortable because he was taught to be very careful with Christians as a Jewish believer. But then Ray revealed that he’s also a full-blooded Jew. And that made the professor more comfortable.

So, Ray started sharing the Gospel with him, beginning with the question, “where are you going when you die?”

“As Jews, we don’t spend a lot of time thinking about that,” he responded. “We spend our time thinking about making heaven on earth.”

Accepting Jesus

However, the professor remarked that it was not working at all. Later, the evangelist explained to him further about the Gospel.

After referencing Scriptures from the Old Testament that led to the Messiah, Jesus, the math teacher was dumbfounded. He just said, “wow.”

Ray further explained what Jesus did on the cross to save us from our sins. Then at the end of their conversation, the college professor accepted Jesus in his heart!

A homeless heroin addict prayed to God for the first time, and God answered her the following day. She found hope and freedom in Jesus.

Painful Childhood

Dawn Searock grew up in an abusive home. At an early age, she was verbally and sexually abused. As a result, she became suicidal even at eight years old. Then at 11 years old, she finally took the courage to report the abuses to the police station. And authorities sheltered the teen in a foster home.

Dawn’s painful childhood memories made her believe she wasn’t enough. And because of that lack, she longed for love and belongingness. So, the teen thought that the solution was to marry.

Indeed, Dawn found someone and married him. They had two children. But far from what she had expected, her marriage soon crumbled. And after 13 years, the couple divorced, and she was left all alone at 32 years old.

Becoming A Heroin Addict

Following the failure of her marriage, Dawn fell into depression. And desperate to escape her problems, she started drinking heavily. Moreover, a man Dawn dated introduced her to heroin. These vices became her way to numb all the pain and suffering she had experienced.

Dawn blamed God for all the bad things happening in her life. By this time, she had become a full-blown drug addict. Dawn then began doing heinous things. It wasn’t long before she went behind bars for robbery.

The more Dawn went deeper into drugs, the more she hated herself. Until the time came, the police arrested her again and sentenced her to 18 months in prison. Then she met a woman she knew in the past who became a Christian. And when she saw her transformation, she began to get curious. So, she started reading the Bible.

After Dawn’s release, she became homeless. Later, she prayed for the first time out of desperation.

“God, I would do anything if You just show me the way,” she told God.

Then what happened next changed her life forever.

Trapped Amidst 30-Feet Deep Waters

One day, former drug addict Jimmy MacDonald went out with his family when an accident happened, that almost took his life. He was having fun paddling in a kayak when he didn’t notice the waters became rough. He was busy taking pictures with his new smartphone when he realized he had already drifted apart from his wife and stepchildren.

Jimmy tried to get back, but the water’s current was too strong. Soon, his kayak tipped over amidst the 30-feet deep water, and he lost his paddle. Nothing but an ill-fitting life jacket coming up over his head could now be seen on Jimmy in the seas.

The former amateur boxer also tried to get back up on his kayak. However, he failed and realized his life was now in danger.

“That’s when I said, ‘Alright, I think I might die today. I think this might be it,’” Jimmy recalled. “I prayed to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for help.”

God Sends Missionaries

And indeed, God answered his prayers as Greg Barrett, the captain for tours, saw Jimmy barely hanging. He had passengers full of Christian missionaries who pulled Jimmy out of the waters when the boat reached him.

The missionaries believed God sent them to that place at the right time.

“We’re missionaries,” one missionary, Chris Malano, said in an interview. “For us, that day, that was our mission to be present and to help someone in need.”

And now, Jimmy believes that the miracle rescue was a sign from God that He’s calling him “for a real reason.”

Today, Jimmy’s testimony has blessed thousands, and although it happened two years ago, it continues to inspire many.

Every child loves to play. According to Very Well Family, playing is part of a child’s healthy development. Through it, they “learn and practice key social, thinking, physical, and emotional skills, including creativity, imagination, and problem-solving.” And in playing, kids often loved it if they had a playmate. This is exactly what the 3-year-old boy who went viral wanted.

On TikTok, a little boy’s recorded video by his mother went viral. It shot up to more than three million views. It blessed millions of viewers and also brought to tears to some.

The mom, Carla, told the story on social media when her son cried, asking for a younger sibling. In the video, the baby boy cried, requesting his mom to have more babies. He apparently wanted to have someone to love and play with. Then the mom wrote in the TikTok video, “everyday he would ask God..” And it broke the mother’s heart every time.

“My son cried every year since he was 3 years,” she wrote in the video. “I wasn’t ready for another baby but my son prayed everyday.”

God Answers

Then five years later, God definitely heard the 3-year-old’s sincere plea for a younger sibling. Carla finally conceived a baby girl.

The time skip that Carla recorded when her son held his baby sister for the first time was emotional. Now a big brother, he cried tears of joy at the hospital when his mom gave birth.

Today, the siblings often play together, and the big brother takes really good care of his little sister.

A TikTok user commented, “You blessed her with the best big brother anyone could ever want.”

Carla’s bio on social media revealed that God is first in her life. She wrote, “God is first in my life! Journey to finding myself while following Jesus.”

A man prayed to God to give him a chance to “help other people.” And God answered him when he witnessed a kidnapping incident and saved the little boy’s life.

Last Friday morning in Portland, Oregon, T.P. Brown, Jr. prayed that God would give him a chance to “help other people.”

“My prayer this morning was for God to show up for me and put me in an impactful position to help other people,” he told KATU-TV. “Not knowing the impact that He was going to put me in today.”

God Answers In Kidnapping Incident

Apparently, an incident unfolded that would be described as a parent’s worst nightmare. A man hopped into a family’s running car with a 3-year-old little boy in the backseat. He stole the car and ran off with it. Then immediately, the boy’s father got into another vehicle and began chasing the suspect, reported KPTV-TV.

The toddler’s dad hit the car to stop the culprit and reportedly wrestled with him. The suspect fled, and that’s when T.P. Brown witnessed the scene. He immediately responded to the emergency and chased the culprit.

“I saw him crossing the street,” he recalled. “I know this was a dead end. The only option was to climb the fence or go through the fence. I immediately floored it, pinned him against the fence. I asked him not to move until the police came here. At that point, he wanted to continue to climb the fence.”

Suspect Detained

Finally, he was able to detain the man until police authorities arrived on the scene. Other Good Samaritans also helped him in keeping the suspect contained. And T.P. Brown is very grateful for the outcome of the incident.

“We could be looking for a missing child right now,” he said. “I don’t consider myself a hero, just another citizen called to do in that moment and that time.”

Thankfully, the incident didn’t cause any injury to the little boy. And T.P. Brown hopes to meet the family in the future.

According to KGW-TV, the suspect is 40-year-old Justin Hill. He is facing several charges, “including kidnapping in the second degree and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.”
