One Person Can Make a Difference

One person can make a difference. You don’t have to be a vocational minister, an evangelist, or a missionary to reach the unreached in your sphere of influence. When Jesus, in Matthew 24, said “And this Gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations,” He wasn’t limiting this charge to global ministries. Each one of us can share Jesus with someone, especially one at a time.

A compelling story illustrating this occurred in the 19^th Century, a time when the internet and mass media were non-existent.

In 1855, a Sunday school teacher named Edward Kimball led a seventeen-year-old shoe clerk named Dwight L. Moody to Christ. D. L. Moody began a ministry that reached millions of people, and in one service, he preached and awakened the heart of a young pastor named F. B. Meyer, who then preached on college campuses.

One of Meyer’s converts was Wilbur Chapman. After attending a D. L. Moody campaign, Chapman became

Moody’s co-worker and hired an ex-baseball player, Billy Sunday, to be his assistant. Sunday became a great evangelist and held crusades across America, including in Charlotte, North Carolina. A group of local businessmen in Charlotte were touched by Sunday’s ministry and began praying for greater local outreach. They invited a minister by the name of Mordecai Ham to preach at a tent meeting in Charlotte in 1934.

On November 1, 1934, during the tent meeting, a sixteen-year-old boy came forward to receive Christ. That sixteen-year-old boy was Billy Graham, who became one of the most effective evangelists of all time, seeing more than two million people respond to the invitation to receive Christ at his crusades.

And where did it all start? With a Sunday School teacher reaching one.

Yes, when one person is saved, there is rejoicing in heaven! But a dramatic, tangible, and powerful potential on Earth is also released. I believe God is calling us to live like Jesus and focus on the ONE. And if we will focus on the one, He will unlock the multitudes.

Many Teenagers Turn To God During Global Pandemic

Despite the disorder coronavirus pandemic caused the world this year, God is still good and working all things together for good as teenagers found God amidst the adversity.

Teenagers Turning To God

According to Kaya Burgess’s report from The Times, a poll suggests that “the trend for younger people being less religious is changing.” It says that Generation Z is more likely to believe in God in their late teens and early twenties than Millennials.

Moreover, the report says that access to information could have contributed to building and bolstering teens’ faith. It is because they can easily access about faith and find like-minded people online. Furthermore, “experts said they faced less “stigma” from their peers for being open about their religious beliefs,” which could have led them to think more about faith during the pandemic.

Opportunity To Nurture Faith And Spirituality

In a message shared by Francis Chan in September, he urged Christian parents to take advantage of the pandemic to nurture their children’s faith and spirituality.

He explained, “I think about parents. I hear in a lot of churches they’ve got to meet together again because of our kids. And I’m going, ‘Man, God should wake you up right there. Parents are supposed to be teaching their kids.”

The pastor also stressed how dads should step up and believe the Spirit of the living God to lead the family, especially the children.

For Pastor Francis, the global pandemic is the perfect opportunity to grow, reflect, and prepare for future challenges.

He said, “This is a time where we realized we were not ready for this. So if we get another little break, let’s do everything we can to equip and prepare people for times like this. Because I really don’t believe this is the end of it.”

Teenagers turning to God amidst the pandemic reminds us that although the enemy intended to kill and destroy lives this year, God turned it for good.

“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.” -Genesis 50:20

GOD TV Distribution Update: With God, Increase is Always on the Way

Jesus came to give us life and life in abundance! Truly, we serve the God who not only adds or subtracts, but who multiplies. ‘Multiplication’ is certainly a word that comes to mind when one considers 22 years of GOD TV’s exponential growth. Now in 2017 we look forward to the next leap forward in our global distribution as we stand in faith and as we trust God for the same level of breakthrough for our viewers.

Who remembers Reinhard Bonnke’s well-known message ‘Jesus came to turn a minus into a plus’? The dearly loved evangelist (who hosts Good News on GOD TV) has often spoken of the Cross as God’s plus sign, sharing all Jesus has added to our lives. This is the Good News of the Gospel and we’re commissioned to spread it worldwide. That’s why since 1995, when GOD TV started, we have sought to impact the world through media.

In 1995 GOD TV took to the airwaves in the UK reaching only 22 countries in Europe two hours a day. Our schedule soon grew to seven hours, then 24 hours and in 2002 the historic move of our broadcast uplink to Israel opened the way for our signal to go global. All of a sudden we were strategically positioned on new satellites to broadcast worldwide from Jerusalem. Africa and Asia opened up first, followed by Australia and then North America in 2006. What started off just two-hours a day in Europe now reaches the globe 24/7.

According to GOD TV’s latest distribution report from our Head of Distribution, Klaus Leweling, we now reach 310 million homes worldwide. This is a potential viewership of 1.1 billion people, a vast figure that is constantly being added to. The scripture says some plant, others water, but it is God who brings the increase. (1 Corinthians 3:6) We are grateful to each partner who has planted or watered and we thank God for causing us to grow so we can reach more people.

GOD TV latest distribution breakthroughs

Our quest at GOD TV is to impact the world and every distribution breakthrough takes us a step closer. Like the dramatic announcement last Missions Week that we now reach 100 million homes in India and have launched in Thailand.

More recently, following our Bless Israel Campaign in January, GOD TV miraculously launched on HOT Cable in Israel making our programming available in 1.3 million Israeli homes. Furthermore, Africa’s largest satellite platform, DStv has opened up to GOD TV after many years of prayer.
