Megachurch pastor Glen Berteau shares how he survived his second heart attack.
Pastor Glen Berteau
The senior pastor of The House in Modesto, California suffered a major heart attack on November 25. Senior Associate pastor Mike Trenton posted on Facebook to inform their church family about the condition of Pastor Glen.
“Pastor Glen is stable and his blood pressure has remained steady for several hours,” Pastor Mike wrote. “He is responding to the treatment plan prescribed by the cardiologist in charge of his case. There have been signs of improvement that give us cause to be encouraged and as the doctor said, we are “hopeful”.
He asked everyone to pray for him and his family during Thanksgiving.
“Please keep praying. When you are with family and friends celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow, please remember Pastor Glen and his family,” he added.
Praying Wife
On December 11, two weeks after the heart attack, Pastor Glen posted photos with his wife, Deborah, while in the hospital. One photo showed Pastor Glen standing in the hospital hallway while his wife kissed his cheek. He posted on Facebook to honor his wife for fighting for him with her prayers.
“We think a wife is someone we marry, live with, build a family, and retire together,” Pastor Glen wrote. “That’s not the biblical wife I married. She is all that but also is the spiritual rock of our church and family. When you see her laying her hand on my chest she is standing between my life and death.”
He also credits his survival to his praying and faithful wife.
“She would not let my spirit leave, would not let me die, cursed all brain damage that was inevitable, and spoke life over my body. I’m alive today b/c of my wife. I will continue in a greater anointing b/c of my wife,” he added.
“Devil, Your Request Has Been Denied – Again!”
This is the second time Pastor Glen has overcome because of the Lord’s healing.
“As I write this message to you, I am reminded of a message he preached after returning to the pulpit following his first heart attack several years ago. I believe he will preach it again, ‘Devil, Your Request Has Been Denied – Again!’” Pastor Mike wrote on Instagram.
