Do you know that joy looks so good on you? You know, when someone sees your smile or a cute shirt, or you’ve been working out? Well, that’s how joy looks on you. You are joyful, full of joy. It looks so good on you. In the Word, it says, “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).
The joy of the Lord is your strength, as it’s the best attribute you can have. I remember me expressing myself to one of my friends about how hard juggling being a mom and a lot of other things was being, and she said, “Oh my goodness, joy looks so good on you!” And it didn’t make any sense, because I was stressing and asking her for advice. And she said, “Whatever gives you joy, do that, ’cause it looks so good on you.” So that got me super excited, and I started doing the things that made me happy, which was spending time with God, listening to music, doing the things that made me smile. When I did that, I actually got strength to be a mother, to be a wife, to be all the things I was telling her were so hard.
It’s so true. It is our strength. So what brings you joy? What makes you happy? Do that! Eat those things as if they’re like nourishing you, because they are. They’re making you strong and helping you throughout your day.
I pray, God, that you give this person watching this right now, all of the joy from heaven, I’m sure you have so much, God, to give. I pray that they receive it. I pray that they use it and I pray they show it off and that everyone can see. And that they’ll say, “Joy looks so good on you!”
