What to do to get back up after sinning?
Impact Video Ministries recently discussed the topic of getting back up again after falling into temptation. Despite how they strive to turn away from evil, many people still fall short of the glory of God. While many Christian leaders focus on teaching people how to prevent this from happening, only a few talk about what to do if someone has committed a sin.

I know many times Bible studies and churches will focus on how we can fight against temptation and take preventive measures. But Christians should also focus on how to recover after they’ve messed up.”

Step # 1: Don’t Wallow In Sin
Despite being Christians being sinners, God still loves us. We are saved because of what Jesus did on the cross and not because of how holy we are. After committing a sin, if you continue to feel the urge to sin, remember the goodness of God and it will lead you to repentance.
Step 2: Understand it’s a Battle
If you fall to sin, the reality is that you have lost that battle with the enemy. But if you’re still breathing, you’re still in the fight and can still get back up again. Don’t give up.
Step 3: Confess Your Sins
Though it is true that the devil causes a person to sin, it’s still our responsibility if we have committed a sin. Take responsibility and confess your sins to Jesus. Be open and honest with God.
Step 4: Identify Your Triggers
A person is tempted when they’re drawn by their evil desires and enticed to sin. Learn from your failure. Minimize triggers, and prevent repeated mistakes.
Step 5: Serve the Lord
Yes, you messed up but don’t stop following and serving God. Still continue to serve the Lord because there are still many people who need the Lord today. Falling into sin doesn’t mean that you’re identity as a servant of the Lord has been changed.
