1,300 Students Gather To Worship At Georgia Church During Discipleship Event

Over 1,300 students gathered at a megachurch in Georgia to worship during a discipleship event.

New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Georgia, hosted this year’s annual “Disciple Now” 3-day event held on March 24-26. Among the 1,300 young people who attended the said event, the majority of them were students in grades 7 through 12. It is now being labeled as the largest youth ministry gathering in Fayette County.

The megachurch’s senior pastor Rhys Stenner said in an interview that the participants had “an anticipation and a preparedness for what God was going to do.”

“Disciple Now” included small group Bible studies led by college students and large group services led by known speakers and worship bands. Attendees were from 17 congregations across the state.

“He softened and prepared hearts,” Rhys said, describing the gathering as an “incredible time of worship from the first service to the last,” with there being “unity among the churches.”

On the last day, there have been “unexpected baptisms” of over 300 students. The praise and worship that day was also much more powerful than usual. There was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that day.

“The tremendous spirit of praise that morning was above the usual despite a terrible deluge of weather that morning,” he recounted. “There was no dampening the enthusiasm, and probably the most joyous we had had on the Sunday morning of a DNOW.”

Pastor Rhys hopes that the event will spark a desire in the students to become “a witness to others about what God has done in their lives.”

“There was a spirit of devoted worship and praise that was striking and noteworthy. It’s always a good event, but there was a notable sense of reverence,” he added. “On the last night, nobody seemed to want to leave. He is the same God.”

Governor Brian Kemp Plans To Make Georgia A “Sanctuary State For People Of Faith”

Governor Brian Kemp revealed his plans of making Georgia a ‘state of sanctuary for people of faith.’ He does this by passing a law called the “Faith Protection Act.”

The 57-year-old governor told CBN News the legislation and its purpose. The bill aims to protect religious freedom and limit the future governors’ power to close down churches should there be another crisis.

He said, “I think this pandemic has shown us that, you know, people will overreach, especially people in positions of power. And that’s not good.

“It was concerning to me,” he added. “That we shouldn’t have any governor or a future governor be able to stop religious services. That’s embedded in our Constitution.”

Sanctuary for people of faith

Gov. Kemp then discussed how Georgia’s state observed protocols to stop the spread of the pandemic but never shut down the churches. “Going online, doing outdoor services, socially distancing, limiting the number of people that can worship but we never said shut anything down,” he said.

“And I’m proud to say that and we don’t want that to happen in the future, and that’s what we’re fighting for.”

Although the legislation proposes to limit the future governor’s power, they will still have some flexibility to work.

Furthermore, the Christian governor defended their cause and stressed the importance of churches in the community. “We can’t just stay sitting in our living room or basement for months and months at a time; that is not healthy. That’s not healthy for our mental health.”

He explained that going to church and being able to gather in worship is healthy for people. “It’s healthy for the mindset, and it’s just really the fabric of who we are, and we’ve done that responsibly here.”

In his official statement on the “Faith Protection Act,” he said, “During the COVID-19 pandemic, people of all faiths across America were told by state governments how, where, when, or even if they could worship at all. Not in Georgia. We chose to work alongside congregations across our state to ensure they practiced their faith safely and in accordance with public health guidance.”

Over 200 Georgia Teens Surrender Their Lives To Christ As Revival Swept Through The State

More than 200 Georgia teens surrender their lives to Jesus Christ as revival swept through the state right before 2020 ended.

God is powerfully moving in Swainsboro, Georgia as revival sweeps through the state. Hillcrest Baptist Church hosted Swainsboro Revival services right before the year 2020 ended. According to evangelist D. R. Harrison, the event’s featured speaker, over 200 people surrendered their lives to Christ. The majority of those who came to Christ are aging between 13 and 20.

“The pastor called back earlier in the year and invited us to come, and they’d been praying and seeking the face of God, and from the first service, the Power of God began to fall in this town,” Harrison shared. “And literally, teenagers are coming from everywhere, from all backgrounds, social statuses, high school, middle school, and the church is literally packed out with teens every night, searching for hope in Jesus Christ.”

Some of those experienced radical change to their lifestyles as they laid down their pasts at the altar.

“We’ve experienced kids laying their drugs on the altar, their vapes on the altar, and then immediately after getting saved, going out and standing on the streets, holding signs, saying, ‘Jesus loves you,’ ‘Jesus changed my life,’ ‘Come to Revival and help yourself’,” he shared. “I mean just it’s unbelievable what God is doing in these young people in this town of Swainsboro, Georgia.”

Swainsboro Revival

The revival services in Swainsboro started in December 2020 and are still currently happening. On January 11, the Hillcrest Baptist Church services will be held outdoors in a large tent. Truly, God is moving in this town mightily as more and more people are seen coming to him.

“I’ve never personally seen God move among young people like he’s doing in this town … It literally is amazing to see,” Harrison said.

Chick-Fil-A Wows Athens, Georgia With Half A Million Christmas Lights

Chick-fil-A in Athens, Georgia decided to kick-off the Christmas season by setting up nearly half a million Christmas lights.

The pandemic has put the whole world on pause, canceling almost all events and special gatherings. With the Christmas holidays here, people have still been finding ways to celebrate.

With that said, the Chick-fil-A, a Christian restaurant, lit up the neighborhood in an effort to uplift the spirit of the community.

Their grand gesture includes a shining Christmas tree on the roof and a whole lot of Christmas lights draping each corner of the restaurant. The impressive annual display garnered them the name, “Light of Athens.”

Alex Clark, the head of the Athens branch, came up with the idea to spread holiday cheer and hope. In November, locals gathered to see the lighting of the restaurant.

Although the restaurant will not be opening their dining rooms yet because of the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, customers will love to pass by their area. They can also tune into a specific radio station to listen to a special playlist arranged by the Chich-fil-A.

Light of Athens

Sheila Wright, a resident in Athens, shared how the Christmas display impacted her and her family.

“When I see the Lights of Athens, I have a warm, happy feeling of love and hope,” she said. “They are wonderful and they are beautiful. The lights mean happy and sweet memories of my son.”

She continued, “The past few years, my son, Travis Lamar Wright, brought me out here to see the lights. He was an outstanding, wonderful young man.” Unfortunately, Travis was killed in a car crash in February 2018.

“The Lights of Athens give me a very warm feeling of him. It was our family tradition to see the lights every Christmas. Every time I see them, I have a smile on my face, a happy memory in my heart, but a tear in my eye.”

Apparently, this was not Chick-fil-A’s first time. They went viral for their display of  Christmas lights in 2016.

U.S. Marshals Successfully Rescue 39 Missing Children In Georgia

U.S. Marshals successfully recovered 39 missing children in Georgia in a two-week rescue operation.

The U.S. Marshals

In August 2020, U.S. Marshals conducted a two-week rescue operation titled “Operation Not Forgotten” to search for endangered missing children. They have recently reported that they were able to successfully recover 39 children and arrested several suspects for their disappearance.

Missing Child Unit and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children worked together to make this operation possible. State and local agencies also took part to support this operation. A total of 26 children are rescued and 13 others are safely located, ages ranging from 3 to 17.

“The U.S. Marshals Service is fully committed to assisting federal, state, and local agencies with locating and recovering endangered missing children, in addition to their primary fugitive apprehension mission,” Director of the Marshals Service Donald Washington said. “The message to missing children and their families is that we will never stop looking for you.”

Missing Children

Among the rescued children, 15 were identified to be victims of sex trafficking, while others faced physical abuse and medical or mental health issues.

“I have children. I’m sure many of you do as well. These are not my kids and these are not your kids, but actually they are our kids when it’s all said and done,” Donald said to the press.

Operation Not Forgotten

Authorities also arrested nine criminals connected with the children’s disappearance.

“When we track down fugitives, it’s a good feeling to know that we’re putting the bad guy behind bars. But that sense of accomplishment is nothing compared to finding a missing child,” Darby Kirby, chief of the Missing Child Unit, explained. “It’s hard to put into words what we feel when we rescue a missing child, but I can tell you that this operation has impacted every single one of us out here. We are working to protect them and get them the help they need.”

Awakening In Central Georgia: Addicts, Alcoholics Among Hundreds To Come To Christ

Central Georgia has been experiencing a spiritual awakening since the beginning of June. Thousands have come together in a small town in Georgia to encounter the Presence of God.

Evangelist D. R. Harrison of Voice of Hope Evangelistic Ministries appeared on CBN News to tell about the amazing things that has been happening in Central Georgia. “It started back at the beginning of the year,” he shared. “Pastor Chet Cooper of the Crossroad Bible Church invited us down to preach a meeting back in the first of the year, and God just moved mightily, and souls began to be saved.”

He continued, “And Brother Chet at the end of the meeting said, ‘Brother D.R., would you pray about bringing the big Gospel tent to central Georgia?’ And I said, ‘Absolutely.'”

“And COVID started hitting strong, and we just began to pray and seek God’s face. One thing led to another, and businessmen and the community started gathering around it.”

God is on the move

And then on June 1, they had their first service and God just “moved in an unbelievable way.’

Harrison further shared that more than 250 people received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The revival has been going on for 7 weeks and they are planning to continue as of Monday.

“We’re talking about alcoholics, drug addicts. One man was 79 years old that walked the aisle. An 83-year-old woman got born again… It’s just unbelievable to see what God’s doing,” Harrison testified in amazement.

He has also seen families reconciled and marriages restored.

With the pandemic, Harrison told CBS that they observe proper protocols and guidelines. Seats are placed six feet apart and sanitation stations are fixed all throughout the area. Moreover, masks are available for those who would want to wear them.

Jesus Christ is still the hope

Harrison reported that the revival services are attended by people across US and online services have been watched from all 50 states and more than 15 countries.

“In the midst of the chaos; in the midst of all of the stuff going on, God is still alive; He’s still on the throne, and revival is still possible. Every revival that’s ever taken place in history, has always come – and even in the Word of God – has always come when things were at its worst,” he shared. “And we can all agree America is in desperate need today, and it is a perfect time for God to send a mighty awakening – a Great Awakening.”

He concluded, “It’s a perfect time for God to send His power and to get glory and to cause His people to turn back to Him and to repent of their sin. And to show this world that there’s not hope in the Republican, a Democrat, the government, a vaccine or anything like that. The hope today is still the Lord Jesus Christ; He is the answer for all of our problems.”

Church Donates 460 Chick-fil-A Sandwiches To COVID-19 Frontlines In Georgia

In the midst of the battle against COVID-19, health workers have become front-liners risking and directly risking their lives. And one local church in Georgia didn’t miss the chance to honor these people. They donated nearly 500 Chick-fil-A sandwiches to two Georgia hospitals.

Rachel Reeves of Revolution Church sparked the initiative when she began pooling her Chick-fil-A app points with other church members. Her plan was to buy sandwiches for workers at the Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton, Ga., and Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper, Ga. Since they have churches in both locations.

The Idea Took Off

And soon enough, Rachel’s idea made a number of church members and others on social media interested. According to the report, she was able to purchase a total of 460 sandwiches from the points. As a result, Rachel was able to donate the sandwiches in waves.

According to Worldometer, Georgia has now more than 1,500 active cases of coronavirus. And the United States has an overall tally of over 85,000 cases. Rachel took action amidst the crisis because she wanted to advocate the love of Jesus.

“Part of being at Revolution Church is helping people,” she told 11 Alive. “Jesus asks us to love each other, and however that looks for you and your city, your community, do that. If it’s taking one family a meal, do that, if it’s helping the need of someone else, if it’s something as huge as giving 500 Chick-fil-A sandwiches to people who appreciate it – grocery stores, I know grocery store workers are really overwhelmed as well – just be kind to each other, help each other.”

Then she concluded, “It’s not that hard to love your neighbor like yourself.”

A church in Georgia paid off $10,000 in Walmart layaways as Christmas gifts for the families in their community.

On December 16, Kevin Murriel, senior pastor of Cascade United Methodist Church, personally went to Walmart to pay off the layaway for 23 families. The church decided to pay off $10,000 worth of layaway items in Walmart to bless these families this Christmas.

One of the recipients was a grieving mother who just lost her son. Suwanda McCreary lost her 28-year-old son in April of this year. Her son left her with three grandkids to care for.

“It’s a big help. It’s a tremendous help,” Suwanda said with tears in her eyes. “Because I really wasn’t able to do it.”

Walmart layaways & blessing others

Kevin and his church were not expecting something in return for their gift but they did have one request for the families: that they would pay it forward.

“We believe that we’ve been blessed to be a blessing to others. And that is why we are doing this. We are not asking you for anything and all we ask is that at some point in your life, you would pay it forward, that you would bless someone else. We are all blessed to be a blessing.”

Brighter future

The Cascade United Methodist Church wants to create a brighter future for the next generation.

“This is our future,” pastor Kevin said while pointing out a young girl. “And we want to make sure that the future is bright for Promise and those young people, children, that we have an immense responsibility to care for.”

Kevin ended by greeting everyone with a ‘Merry Christmas!’

“Everyone deserves a good Christmas,” pastor Kevin told the families gathered. “Merry Christmas and we hope that you are blessed by this gift.”

Mom Praises God After Accident Almost Kills 2-Year-Old

A mother of twins praised God after her baby daughter narrowly escaped death in a terrible car accident.

Just an ordinary day

Megan Newman from Georgia was with her twin daughters, Elena and Bella, at the aquarium on July 11th. It seemed like an ordinary day for the family until an unfotunate thing happened.

“When I got home I did my usual, put my car into park and emergency brake on since I live on a steep hill in Duluth. It’s just a must,” Megan stated.

Almost loses her 2-year-old

She tried to pull the key out of the ignition but it wasn’t budging.

“Tried taking out my key but it was stuck. So I unbuckled the girls, got Elena out first and tried to get Bella out but she was being a stinker and she didn’t want out of the back seat. That’s when I tried taking out the key again and it wasn’t budging, so I decided to go ask for help from my neighbors who were sitting outside,” she added.

“Your car is rolling down the hill!”

The next thing she knew, her neighbors were yelling, “Your car is rolling down the hill!” Megan turned in horror to see her car slipping away with her little daughter still buckled inside. She bolted after the car terrified for Bella.

“The van rolls away with one of the toddlers inside and into busy Mesaba Avenue traffic, striking a vehicle and lodging into the trees on the steep hillside below. The van was partially suspended in the trees above the ground,” Duluth Police Chief Mike Tusken reported.

Thankfully a police officer was driving by when he witnessed the accident. Officer Simmons was able to rush to the crash site, call for an ambulance, and pull Bella out safely.

Bella escaped the potentially tragic accident with just minor injuries. Megan praises God for using Officer Simmons to save her daughter’s life.

“She came out with barely a scratch on her. It’s truly a miracle,” Megan told The Star Tribune.

It is definitely true that when you do the right thing, you can come under attack from the enemy. In recent months, the state of Georgia has been bearing the brunt of what appears to be a targeted campaign by Hollywood, since announcing a crackdown on abortions. Complete with petitions, threats and now business withdrawal.

With many millions of dollars invested in the film industry in Georgia, local jobs are now threatened along with people’s livelihoods. But perhaps the real threat is towards the unborn children of Georgia, who have the right to life just like you and me.

If the heartbeat bill is not passed and Georgia submits to the threats, over 33,000 children (Guttmacher Institute), known only to God, will die – fact. However, Disney continues to promote, promote, promote their movies, theme-parks et al, and all this promotion is directed towards children!

Walt Disney, its founder once said: “Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children.”

Workers Threatened

With yet another chart-topping blockbuster children’s movie released within the last month, the ‘magic’ of Disney dims with this latest statement by CEO Bob Iger. In an unprecedented move, the largest ‘child-orientated’ movie maker and theme park giant in the world, announced it was considering pulling out of filming in Georgia in future. The reason? The state’s new abortion heartbeat bill.

Iger stated it would be ‘very difficult’ for Disney to continue its current relationship with the state. His comments came during the promotion of ‘Galaxy’s Edge’ the latest park to open based on the famous and popular Star Wars movies.

He told Reuters: “I think people who work for us will not want to work for us, will not want to work there, and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard, Right now we are watching it very carefully.”

Suddenly, it appears that no-one will want to work in Georgia for Disney… What? Disney would not be able to train new workers?

Gender Abortion – A Global Crisis

However, it is not just within this nation that we struggle with abortion and infanticide. Gender abortion is rife among the nations. Atheist nation China’s strict 1 baby per family has produced serious ramifications. This systematic ‘culling’ has resulted in a gender imbalance in the country.

There are now estimated to be more than 33.5 million more males than females. Another nation that has similar statistics is India. In 2011 Dr. Gursharan Singh Kainth, director of the Guru Arjan Dev Institute of Development Studies in Amritsar, spoke to Life Site, He explained that over 600,000 girls go ‘missing’ every year:

“The impact on Indian society is grim,” he said, explaining that the “missing girls” are usually aborted, shortly after the parents learn of their gender.

Another country who are gender aborting on a massive scale is Armenia. Jonathan Van Maren reported in 2016 that selective abortions have resulted in over 100 girls to every 120 boys are being born. This is having a huge impact demographically on the country.

I would challenge all feminists – this is the real war on women. In an effort or drive to promote abortion as ‘women’s rights’ in effect the women’s rights movement is giving nations permission to destroy women before they are born. Soon there will not be enough women to inherit anything. A sobering thought indeed.

Missing Generations?

Probably one of the most important issues of our age is abortion. Generations of souls are being murdered daily in a silent Holocaust that no-one wants to really admit to. The human being is classed as ‘just cells’, ‘not viable’, or simply ‘unwanted.’

Abortion robs people of the gift of parenthood. Whether it is a financial, gender, career or schooling commitments, ‘that baby’ will just get in the way. Yet millions of couples, who suffer infertility, would gladly give that child a loving home.

The scourge of abortion has insisted that the West has not only lost her moral compass but lost her will to live. We can only pray that the states that have taken that giant leap of faith, continue to stand in the face of adversity.

It is written in Ephesians 6:12: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. “

Let us continue to be vigilant in prayer.
