A fatherless young man boldly testified about how God persistently pursued him during the ‘Gen Z for Jesus’ event.
Fatherless Young Man
A Christian content creator, Isaac Bilbao, shared his testimony during the “Gen Z for Jesus Event.” All his life, he ran away from God. He used to hate Him, but it all changed.
“I don’t believe in God because of a pastor, because of a preacher… I believed in God because I experienced Him. And I encountered Him for myself,” he shared.
He grew up in church his whole life, but all he knew was religion. As a kid, he learned about God but didn’t know Him intimately.
“I grew up in church, but I was still depressed, still suicidal, still addicted to so many things, addicted to pornography. I was so broken and so hurt,” he recalled.
Furthermore, he grew up without a father. That’s why he had no idea what it meant to have one. Sadly, no one taught him how to ride a bike or even how to play basketball. No one guided him with fatherly love. Because of this, he was so broken. He didn’t know who he was.
God Persistently Pursue Him
Moreover, he emphasized that he was once a lukewarm Christian and a backslider.
“I was lost, I was found. I got lost again, I got found again,” he highlighted.
But despite this, God’s love still pursued him. Even in his lowest moments, God loved him. According to the caption of his Instagram post, he was at the breaking point of his life. But God showed and gave him the love of a Father. Indeed, what’s written in Romans 5:8 is true in Isaac’s life, “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
