Influencer John Lhommedieu delivered an inspiring message to discouraged leaders, emphasizing that “The gap is a gift!”
A Message To Discouraged Leaders
Being a leader poses numerous challenges for many Christians. Often, this calling leads them to situations that exceed their perceived capabilities. Consequently, a dilemma arises when they confront the gap between what God has called them to do and the limitations of their human abilities. However, Christian influencer John Lhommedieu asserts that this gap should not be viewed as a problem but rather as a gift.

John shared a thought-provoking principle in his Instagram reel that could be beneficial to believers. He discussed the concept of “the gift of the gap.”
“God will place your calling up here,” he said while demonstrating with his hands. “And He will place your gifting down here. He made you that way.”
The Gift of The Gap
Then, the influencer elaborated on the growth that occurs within the gap.
“Dependence and reliance on Him,” he remarked. “What we do with the gap is we fill it with insecurity. And we say, ‘God’s telling me this, but I’m only this. So, I can never do this.’ But this is the way God designed it.”
Furthermore, John used David, a character from the Bible, as an example. He highlighted how God anointed David as king at a young age, which was his divine calling. However, at that time, all David had was his skill of playing the harp as a shepherd boy.
He also discussed the life of Moses, emphasizing how God called him to lead the nation despite his struggle with stuttering. John emphasized that it is God who bridges the significant gap between His calling and human capability. Additionally, he highlighted the importance of the right attitude that effective leaders possess, which could serve as a valuable reminder for some Christian leaders.John said, “The most effective leaders are the ones who say, ‘I know I’m not enough. I know I’m not gifted enough. I know I’m not talented enough. And that’s what makes me qualified.’”
