Hope does not come from finances, people, or any other resource. All hope originates from God and God alone. Don’t let your heart be torn in different directions. We have the choice of whether or not we are going to put our hope in God, or if we are going to put our hope in what we can control.
Christian Life Assembly Equips People To Be A People Of Hope
Christian Life Assembly is a multicultural, multigenerational church in Camp Hill, PA. Their mission is to help people grow in their relationship with Christ, focus their time and energy on their God-given strengths to impact the world, and reach others for Him.
Pastor Shane Wilson recently preached an encouraging and compelling message on hope. He wanted to make it very clear that all hope originates from God. “It’s not a little hope here and a little hope there…There is absolutely no hope outside of Jesus Christ.”
His message is called “HopeFully”, because he is speaking the truth about how our hope has to be fully set on Jesus and Jesus alone. He tells part of his testimony of how he has decided to put his hope in nothing else. “Through my relationship with Jesus, I have had to often reaffirm in my heart and reaffirm in my mind, that He is everything I have, that all of my hope is in Jesus.”
Jesus Is The Source Of Hope
If you search for Bible verses on hope, you could read forever! The Word of God was written for our instruction and to encourage us. It is where we are reminded of the truth of where our hope comes from. Hope is the anchor for our soul.
Hebrews 6:19-20, “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.”
Have your hope set on God, the Savior of your soul, the source of all hope. All hope originates from God.
1 Timothy 4:10, “For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.”
Resolve Within Yourself To Put Your Hope In God
Real hope is not a wish or simply a desire. It’s an expectation that God is going to move in your life. He has your future in the palm of His hand. We have a choice of whether or not we are going to put our hope in God, or if we are going to put our hope in what we can control. He is either the source of true hope, or He isn’t.
1 Thessalonians 4:13, “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.”
Jesus is our comfort when we feel like we don’t know how to go on. Praise God for His grace and His faithfulness, and remind yourself of who He is. He makes you unshakable.
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17, “Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.”
Be Steadfast In Hope
Hope brings us joy! Life has its twists and turns, but with hope as our foundation, we can have joy no matter what! 1 Corinthians 12:12 says, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Don’t shift from the hope of the Gospel. The Gospel is good news! All hope originates from God, the One who wrote the story of Gospel on our hearts. Jesus gave up His life so that we could have hope and a future. Stay steady, and choose to believe that all your hope is in Jesus, and that He has a good plan for your life.
Colossians 1:22-23, “he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister.”
Prayer
Jesus, today we choose to resolve within ourselves that you and you alone are the source of all of our hope. Thank you for this hope that is an anchor for our souls. We stand firm and declare that we have hope because of you. We trust you with our lives, and believe that we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Amen.
