The Voice judges were all stunned the moment they heard Kirk Jay’s beautiful rendition of Rascal Flatts’ “Bless The Broken Road”.
Your heart will melt when you hear Kirk sing this beautiful country song. You can see that Kirk sings the song passionately – to the point that even the judges felt the emotional connection that he had with the song, which eventually led them to turn their chairs for him. It’s amazing how you can hear a familiar song, but it can sound different and even more emotional when the person singing it does it so passionately.
Kirk chose the song “Bless The Broken Road” because it is a significant song for him. Not only did the song open the genre of country music to him, but it also made him realize he wanted to pursue his dream of becoming a singer.
“It was the first country song I ever heard in my life, I was on the way to school one day and ‘Bless The Broken Road’ came on and I started crying and got chills came all over my body, and I start looking up all the number 1 hits — this is something I want to pursue…till I die, I promise. ” Kirk said.
Crowds were cheering for him the moment he shared his heart through the song. Indeed, the song itself speaks about how God can powerfully bless your relationships if you learn to surrender everything to Him. God can heal anything that needs it: relationships, sickness, heartbreak, wrong turns, anything that needs mending.
After all the hilarious battles between the coaches, Kirk finally chose Blake who is also the first one who turned for him to be his coach. Watch and be amazed by Kirk’s powerful voice, in an old song brought with new meaning:
