Thousands of students gathered together in the USA during the Forward Conference to raise $57,000 in donations for abused and homeless women.
Forward Conference 2019
Around 12,600 high school students from 32 states and five countries gathered together at the Infinite Energy Center in Gwinnett County, Georgia for Forward Conference 2019.
“Forward Conference is dedicated to teaching, equipping, and empowering students to live out their greatest potential, and to move forward in their relationship with Christ. Our focus is on worship, self-growth, and having the best times of our lives. It’s an experience you’ll never forget,” states the Forward Conference website.
It was hosted by Jentezen Franklin’s Free Chapel church which is celebrating their 14th year.
“When students are given more than just rules and regulations and given the opportunity to really make a difference in the world, I have found time after time they rise to the occasion,” Jentezen Franklin said in an interview.
Helping those in need
This year, Forward Conference partnered with New Beginnings Today, a ministry in inner-city Atlanta that helps women in need. Many of the women who have been delivered from addiction and abuse went to the conference to share their testimonies.
The Dream Center, a faith-based organization that provides assistance to homeless families and aids in addiction recovery across the United States, also partnered with Forward Conference.
The students and youth leaders attending were encouraged to give generously to those in need. They were able to raise thousands for the assistance of homeless families and people recovering from addiction.
Among the speakers in the conference was Carl Lentz of Hillsong NYC and DawnChere Wilkerson of VOUS Church in Miami. Different worship teams were also in attendance including Hillsong Worship, Passion Music, Bethel Music, and Free Chapel Music.
