Almost 1800 inmates gathered to worship the name of Jesus. It was, by far, the largest event in Florida prison history.
1800 Inmates Worship God Openly
In a recent post, 1800 inmates worshipped the Lord and sang Maverick City’s Jireh.
God Behind Bars ministry shared, “1800 inmates filled an entire prison yard to worship the name of Jesus! The largest event in Florida prison history! Only Jesus can do this! We praise Him for this miracle. And then the warden said he has never seen this many inmates in one place! It was a TRUE miracle! Hundreds if not thousands of inmates have gotten saved since this event. During this event, inmates were praying over each other, laughing. One of the inmates even said, “I felt like I wasn’t in prison for a moment.”
The Largest Event In Florida Prison
As can be seen in the video, the prison yard was packed and everyone was dancing and singing. Some were even crying as the song played!

“We had 1800 inmates come and worship in the prison yard. It was the largest event in Florida prison history. Hundreds of inmates have accepted Jesus at this prison. The warden said he has never seen this many inmates in one place peacefully. Only Jesus can do a miracle like this,” was the caption of the video.
People were showing their support in the comments. A few said that this could change the country from within.
One person also commented, “Thank you for taking the love of Jesus to these men and women in prison! What a wonderful ministry!”
God Behind Bars Ministry
“Since 2009, God Behind Bars has partnered with churches around the country to transform the lives of prison inmates and their families. Most prisoners—as many as 92% of all incarcerated individuals—will be released back to society at some point, and 75% of them will return to prison within three years. We address this problem with a unique three-step approach that focuses on the physical, spiritual, and relational needs of inmates and their families.
“By inviting God into prison and showing His love in tangible ways, God Behind Bars is restoring lives, building faith, fighting addictions, reconnecting families, and giving thousands of inmates hope for the future.” – God Behind Bars
