A wedding in Iraq turned into a nightmare after a fire broke out in the hall, killing at least 100.

Fire Broke Out Amid Wedding Celebration In Iraq

A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded on a wedding day in a predominantly Christian part of Iraq. The Iraqi couple, Haneen and Revan, were supposed to have a memorable day at their wedding last week. But a sudden turn of event happened that left them devastated. A fire broke out in the middle of their wedding celebration, killing at least 100, including some of their family members.

The bride and groom survived the tragedy. But the two felt devastated for losing family members. In an interview with Khaleej Times, the groom, Revan, told the outlet, “Inside we are dead. We are numb. We are dead inside.”

According to Khaleej Times’s report, “The bride lost her mother and brother, while Revan lost 15 relatives.”

After investigation, the evidence pointed to the indoor fireworks during the celebration as the cause of the fire. Apparently, “grave negligence” from the hall’s owner also added to the case.

Khaleej Times wrote, “Civil Defence had carried out an inspection of the site earlier this year and the owner was ordered to remove the ceiling by October because of its highly flammable materials.”

Grave Negligence

In CNN’s report, the Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari told the reporters, “The hall did not meet safety criteria. Because of the fireworks the ceiling collapsed on the people in the hall. Justice will be served to those who were negligent.”

Let’s pray for the victims and the survived families of those who died in the tragedy. May they experience God’s peace and comfort during these trying times.

God is a Consuming Fire, surrender to him and find your truest self and a deeper intimacy with your Heavenly Father.

What Does The Bible Say

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”” Hebrews 12:28-29

In the book of Hebrews, there is a reminder that God is a consuming fire, desiring your whole-heart devotion and surrender. This truth may at times seem overwhelming, but in reality, it is a beautiful invitation to be transformed by His all-encompassing love.

This passage emphasizes the unshakable nature of God’s kingdom and invites you and I to approach Him with gratitude, reverence, and awe.

When you surrender yourself completely to God, you allow His refining fire to work in you, purifying your heart, mind, and spirit. It’s in this surrender that you find your truest self, free from the burdens of the world and fully alive in His love.

As a believer, you can take comfort in the knowledge that God’s consuming fire is not meant to harm you, but rather to refine you into a vessel of His glory. It’s an invitation to let go of the things that hinder you, to trust in His goodness, and to walk forward in faith.

So, do not be afraid to fully surrender to the consuming love of God. Embrace the refining process, knowing that you are being transformed into something beautiful and radiant. As you do, you’ll find a deep sense of purpose and a profound intimacy with the One who loves you beyond measure.

Bibles In A Burned Down Church Building Were Not Consumed

During a bible study, a church building caught on fire in Orlando, Florida. Thankfully, no one was reported injured. But members were surprised by the miracle they witnessed after – the bibles inside the building were not consumed.

Jason Decasseres, an evangelist at The Center Arena Church, showed in his Instagram video the aftermath of their church building after a fire burned it down last August 23. The whole structure was turned into ashes and gray. And it seemed impossible that something as flammable, like a Bible, could withstand the intense blaze.

But as they surveyed the damage the bibles, to their surprise, were intact and untouched by the fire.

They felt that God was revealing that the fire may have destroyed their church, but it could not destroy their faith.

“The whole building burned, but not God’s Word,” Jason said. “Remember, that’s how powerful God’s Word is.”

“We’re gonna rebuild for the love of Jesus Christ. We’re gonna come together in unity, in one accord and we’re still having service.”

He continued, “We don’t have to be inside the building, we’re taking it outside in the parking lot.”

“We are more than conquerors in Jesus Christ. No weapons formed against us shall prosper. No one’s gonna stop us. We are sons and daughters of God.”

The Center Arena Church

Pastor Rich Vera, founder of The Center Arena, said, “Our church was consumed with fire. But I said this, We are consumed by a different kind of fire – the fire of God.”

Indeed, the church has left its building. People gathered in the parking lot and continued with their service the following Sunday.

The church had just finished its thousand-dollar renovations when it was engulfed in flames. But they will rise again and rebuild for the glory of Jesus’ name!

A couple’s wedding day got caught in a fire incident. They prayed and sought God despite the circumstance. Then hours later, God sent angels to bless and continue their union.

Memorable Wedding Day At Mackinac Island

Elizabeth and Jake Landuyt tied the knot two years ago and said their marriage vows before God on Mackinac Island in Michigan. But it wasn’t just any ordinary wedding day because an unexpected fire broke out near the venue.

Elizabeth and Jake planned to have their wedding on the beautiful island of Mackinac Island. Everything was going smoothly until a fire broke out during the reception while the bride’s father gave his speech.

In the middle of the father’s speech, some guests interrupted the moment because “the cottage right next to their wedding venue” caught on fire. So, the couple and every one of their guests immediately evacuated. They had no choice but to abandon the reception.

Elizabeth and Jake sheltered in the nearby church where they were married. Instead of being disappointed, they prayed and sought God amidst the unlikely circumstance. They prayed for everyone’s safety. Unbeknown to them, God was doing something behind the scene that would make their wedding day memorable.

A Surprise

After the people on the island discovered what had happened, they worked together to save the married couple’s wedding day. The venue’s chef went out of his way to cook the 120 meals in “a restaurant next door.” They moved the reception to the another venue down the street. Moreover, another restaurant offered to help too.

LITTLE BOY GENUINELY WORSHIPS GOD WITH HIS ENTIRE FAMILY

And in less than an hour, the bride and groom were able to continue their celebration.

Elizabeth and Jake returned to the island two years later—this time with their first child!

What Does It Mean To Die To Self?

Jesus said, “If any man desires to follow Me, let him give up his own way, take up his cross, and follow Me”.Matt16:24. This is a hard saying but there is no other way to follow Jesus. To deny oneself is to die to self. There is no resurrection but through death. Jesus had to die to rise in resurrection power. So also we must daily die to self to experience His resurrection power. We are to offer up ourselves as a living sacrifice. This means that we can get off the altar of sacrifice. A dead sacrifice is dead but a living sacrifice has life in it. We have to walk like dead man. We are dead to self, the world and the devil and alive to God.

Fire

The burning bush that Moses saw is a symbol of the fire that will engulf us as we die to self. This fire burns up everything that is of self and the fire produces resurrection power. Without His resurrection power all we do is to operate in our own strength. We can imitate a lot of things of the Spirit in the flesh. This is what we see in most churches. We operate from our soul man and little from the spirit man. We have counterfeited what is of the Spirit. This is why Jesus had a severe word for the seven churches in the book of Revelation. We could easily apply those messages to those churches in our present day. We need to repent and turn from our wicked ways.

Self

Dying to self is to die to our own selfish thoughts, feelings and will. These thoughts must be replaced by God’s thoughts or words. In this way we get transformed into the likeness of Jesus. The Holy Spirit was sent for this very purpose. Jesus came to baptise us in the Holy Spirit and fire. Few of us desire to be baptised in the fire. There is no other way to be purified and to be the holy temple of God. The fire purifies and empowers. Let us today offer ourselves up as a living sacrifice and be changed for the glory of God.

Megachurch In Australia Consumed By Fire; “Hold Us In Your Prayers”

A fire destroyed a megachurch in Australia. It took 45 firefighters to put out the flame.

The more than a thousand members of Lifepointe Baptist Church had their hearts broken when their church building caught fire last January 20. The Sunshine Coast-based church was reportedly empty at the time of the tragedy.

Captain Peter Pittini of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said that the fire crew could not enter the building because of its strong flame. The “large flame” came from the rear of the building and quickly spread to the front.

There are still no reports as to how the fire started, but officials are investigating the scene.

Lifepointe Church

Despite it all, the Lifepointe Church did not lose hope.”Although we mourn the loss of our building, we know all hope is not lost,” they wrote on their Facebook page. “Because we are more than a building – our people are the church!”

“While we are heartbroken, we stand together today in the power of God and prayer to rebuild from the ashes to continue to impact our community with the love of Jesus.”

Sunday services are canceled, but they are organizing a new meeting place. They added, “Please hold us in your prayers and stand with us as we work through this season.”

Senior Pastor Phil Greenbury believes that they are not defeated. “We are still excited. We are not defeated. The bigger the opposition, the greater the faith we need. And man, have we got faith this year that God is going to build this church.”

He continued, “So, we are leaning into Him.”

Moreover, they have set up a GoFund Me page where they aim to raise a total of $50,000 for the rebuilding. And as of writing, they have already raised more than $22,000. If you want to help their cause, feel free to visit and donate in their account.

Firefighter Reveals Miracle That Saved Him From Raging Fire

A firefighter is sharing the miracle that happened when he got trapped for 7 minutes in the midst of the raging fire. “Prayer works,” he said as he credits God for the rescue.

Miracles are real

In a podcast interview, Los Angeles Fire Department Captain Cheyane Caldwell told Jason Sautel his story. The captain’s testimony served as the premiere episode of the Edifi’s “Jesus Is All We Need” podcast.

Caldwell recalled the life-changing moment in 2007. His team responded to the call when a one-story building in California caught fire.

They immediately went to the scene. But, the fire was already out of control.

The Christian firefighter climbed over the roof to assess the situation.

Caldwell fell through the decking and into the fire. “[I] fell about 13 or 15 feet into the structure. A ball of fire came out of the hole I created, so you can imagine what was underneath me,” he said.

He woke up with the blaze surrounding him and saw that he had no escape. “I thought three things in my mind clear as day: ‘Okay Lord, I’m in here all by myself. Second, ‘Lord, this is it. I’m ready’ — and lastly, my life just went before me all on a DVD in fast order.”

7 minutes encounter

For 7 minutes, Caldwell suffered under the intense heat. While he thought that it was supposed to be the end, God had other plans.

Caldwell’s captain made an unexpected call. He instructed the other firefighters on the roof to blast water in the hole Caldwell created. He later explained that God prompted the decision. “It was like God was speaking to me. God told me to take this hoseline and put it into the hole.”

The captain’s gesture turned out to be what saved Caldwell’s life. He said, “What he did was like water from heaven.”

They were able to rescue Caldwell, and amazingly, after 10 months of recovery, he was back in service.

Since then, Caldwell grabs every opportunity to tell of God’s miracle in his life. After reflecting on the entire ordeal, he sees how God held him right in the palm of His hand.

Caldwell said, “Two feet to the left, I would have been impaled — three feet to the right, I would have fallen straight through to the concrete below.”

“There’s no reason I should have survived, but I … give all glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for what he did on that day. There’s no luck involved. There’s no coincidence — it’s all providence and providence is defined as God’s hand at work for a later activity or mission.”

Those Who Speak From The Fire Spread The Fire

The Fire is where God resides in glory. Fire speaks of holiness and purity. It burns but also empowers. This fire is living and so can produce life. In the Spirit we enter into a higher realm. We are seated in heavenly places with Christ as believers. However few of us understand this and therefore still operate from earthly realms. When we enter the throne room of God we have a different perspective of things. We see things from God’s perspective. This change of perception will lead to a different way of doing things. Jesus spoke from the fire and many did not understand Him. They failed to comprehend His words because they saw from an earthly perspective. Those who understood the meaning of His words began to change.

Jesus

When we speak from the Fire we will speak like Jesus. His words from heaven will flow through us and touch others. When Jesus spoke the devils left and healing and deliverance happened. This is what we can expect as signs and wonders following our preaching of the word. This is the time when God is moving in nations and making Himself known to the masses. The glory cloud is descending and people are being caught up through the revelation from heaven. Those outside the fold will see and be amazed. The systems of the world will crumble under the power of God.

Spreading The Fire of Justice

Righteousness and justice will return to government as people repent and turn from their wicked ways. Only a fresh move of God can reverse the downward trend that we see in the world today. Let us join our hearts together and pray for the fire of God to spread through the nations. It has already started happening and those who have ears to hear will hear the rumblings. Many suddenlies will happen. Signs in the heavens and on earth will happen. These are all signs of the things to come. We must be ready and prepared to move as the Spirit moves.

180-Year-Old Bible Survives Fire That Burned Historic Church To The Ground

A 180-year-old bible miraculously survived the fires that burned the old historic Mississippi church to the ground.

Tragic fire

On August 13, a fire broke out in the College Hill Presbyterian Church in Oxford, Mississippi. It devastated the almost 200-year-old building. Since 1844, the church has inspired and encouraged faith believers. But, the tragedy has caused heartbreak and grief to the church’s members.

Church elder Doug Paul told WATN-TV how the church has responded to the sad news. “The first response on Sunday is heartbreak,” he said. “But there is just as much as there is a heartbreak, there’s also hope and a confidence that, if God protected us for the first 180 years, there’s no reason why we’re not going to build again and be protected for another 180.”

180-Year-Old Bible

The fire has consumed the church’s rich history, expressed in its original pews, pulpit, structure, and stained glass. But, one thing endured. And it symbolizes the hope God has shone through to His people.

A Bible, which rested on the pulpit, had survived the raging fire. The historical book, dated since the founding of the church, was usually kept open in the pulpit. But, someone closed it just hours before the disaster. As a result, it potentially lowered the risk of burn.

Doug Paul added, “We are a Bible-believing church, and we believe that that is the word of God, and that is sustaining. And so, the idea that essentially nothing in this church survived but the word of God — that’s not lost on us.”

The College Presbyterian Church releases a similar statement on its official website. It reads, “This historical building, constructed in 1844, was a significant part of our church’s rich history, and we are mourning its loss. However, College Hill Presbyterian Church is a body of believers, not a building. While we are devastated by the loss, we will continue to gather and unite with great hope and joy as a congregation to worship the Lord who has faithfully shepherded and loved this church for so long.”

Cross Miraculously Remains Standing After Fire Burns Down Texas Church: ‘A Sign From God’

A cross miraculously remained standing after a fire burned down an entire Texas church. Lead pastor says this is “a sign from God.”

Cross Miraculously Survived

On June 17, fire broke out at the Balsora Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Texas. The fire quickly destroyed nearly everything in the church. The entire building was burned down to the ground. However, when the flames were put out and the smoke was cleared, firefighters saw a cross still standing among the ashes.

Pastor Sonny Smith is saying that the cross is a sign from God. A sign that is telling them that He is there with them despite what happened to their church building.

“To me, that was a sign from God, saying, ‘Don’t worry, I’m still here and I’m going to lead you forward,’” the preacher told KDFW-TV.

Balsora Baptist Church

On Sunday, the congregation still met outside the burnt down building for their Worship service.

“Shed some tears together over what was — but also create some excitement for what God plans for us in the future,” Sonny continued. “I can tell you what’s inside of our church family: it’s faith.”

Pastor Sonny calls it a miracle that the cross survived the flames that destroyed everything in the church building.

“That cross is where we would get little pieces of paper with a string and everyone put all their family members and different ones they wanted to pray for and we hung them up on that cross,” he explained in an interview with CBS News. “It’s an absolute miracle that that cross made it through the fire when nothing else did.”

A representative of the Wise County Emergency Services Department No. 2 also said that the surviving cross is a symbol that the building is not the church. The church is the people, the congregation.

“The fire took the structure, but not the cross,” said the representative. “A symbol that the building was just that, a building. The church is the congregation, and where two or more gather, there He shall be also.”
