Daigle previously shared, “Thank God I Do” during the pandemic. It was a time full of uncertainty and fear amidst worldwide lockdowns because of the virus. The song lyrics are heart-piercing that thousands of fans couldn’t help but pour out how the song impacted them in the comment section.”
Confusing Colorful Imagery
A fan named Jennifer shared her reaction to Lauren’s music video admitting she misjudged its at first.
“At first I didn’t understand her crazy outfit, but I understand now seeing the end of the video,” she wrote. “She intimately knows God, and the crazy colors and flowers are all the beauty of God’s love. Everywhere she goes, the flowers grow, the colors magnify and everything changes. It’s a metaphor to represent how it feels to have God in our lives. She included the “stop” sign to remind us to pause and spend time with Him, and the “one way” sign alludes to Jesus.”
She also added how the song made her “teary.”
Lyrics
The first verse of the song’s lyrics talks about the struggle of uncertainty and darkness surrounding the singer. It said:
“I’ve seen love come and I’ve seen love walk away
So many questions, will anybody stay?
It’s been a hard year, so many nights in tears
All of the darkness, tryin’ to fight my fears
Alone
So long alone
Then the chorus:
“I don’t know who I’d be if I didn’t know You
I’d probably fall off the edge
I don’t know where I’d go if You ever let go
So keep me held in Your hands”
