ABC’s “American Idol” featured a number of Gospel music from different artists on their recent “Comeback” episode. It was a faith-filled show!
American Idol
On the evening of April 19, “American Idol” aired a special episode for their 19th season. It was called a “Comeback” episode and it unveiled a huge twist on the show. As the season approached its Top 10, a slot was left open for some of the contestants from season 18.
Ten contestants from the previous season received a second chance to return and compete for a spot on the Top 10. The twist was to make up for their season in spring 2020 was suspended due to the pandemic.
Comeback Episode
Instead of performing on the “American Idol” stage, they were left with no choice but to perform in their living room in front of their iPhones and ring lights as the show has to continue virtually. These aspiring singers worked hard to perform on stage but were unfortunately denied the chance because of coronavirus.
However, “American Idol” is giving 10 of the best contestants from Season 18 another chance to perform on the big stage! They have also been granted another shot to be the next “idol.”
Faith-filled show
Aside from the shocking “plot twist,” star-studded guest performers also surprised the audience! Among those is Lauren Daigle who performed her popular single, “Look Up Child”. And the former “American Idol” judge Harry Connick, Jr. who also performed his latest Christian single release “Alone With My Faith.”
Some of the contestants who came back from the past season also performed Gospel music, making it a faith-filled episode.
Dewayne Crocker, Jr., also took the judges and the audience to Church with his powerful performance of the song, “Voice Of God”. Contestant Olivia Ximines also rendered a stunning performance of the Gospel song “Say Yes” and it was absolutely entertaining!
It was such a memorable “American Idol” episode!
