A Filipina flight attendant shared Jesus with the other flight attendants and pilots. She testified how it wasn’t easy at the beginning but was so worth it in the end.
Angel Legaspi’s Testimony
Angel grew up in a Christian family. She described it as “an imperfect but loving” family.
“I was taught Bible stories and Bible verses and regularly attended Sunday school since I was a little child. I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior when I was in grade school,” she said.
When she attended high school, her mind was opened to the possibility of becoming a flight attendant, mainly because of her height. Almost everyone expected her to become one, including herself.
But that didn’t happen.
“I ended up majoring in Business Economics. And being in a corporate environment, my plans and outlook on life changed,” she said.

She then added, “I completely removed the thought of becoming a flight attendant. I started to build my own plans for my own future without seeking God’s guidance. And I did all the activities I thought would make me happy.”
Despite making her own plans, God spoke to Angel and reminded her of something very important.
“God reminded me that I am trying to do a lot that I forgot to focus on what really matters the most: His will. I asked God’s forgiveness for my selfishness…. And I said, “Lord, I don’t want to be in a place where Your presence is not there. And I don’t want to do something without Your blessing,”” she said.

After two years, God gave her back the desire to be a flight attendant.

Becoming a flight attendant was a smooth transition, but after a few months of flying, she felt physically drained.
“I had a hard time adjusting to the environment and the very dynamic flight schedules. It became so hard to do my devotions and read my Bible regularly, as well as attend DGroup and Sunday worship,” she said.
God’s Promise
She felt lost and confused, so she prayed to God, “Lord, is this still what You want me to do? It feels impossible to share You, Your word, or the gospel here in this environment.”
God answered her in Joshua 1:9 (NIV), “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
That was when she started a Bible study group with her co-workers. There were just three of them at the beginning, but now they have nearly 100.
“We’ve invited around 88 flight attendants, pilots, and friends. … Eventually, we started to meet other Christian flight attendants from other airlines there as well.
“God gave me wings not just to fly but to share His word in the sky,” she concluded.
