A Christian author found herself feeling unfulfilled despite leaving the things of the world and pursuing the godly things. She thought that it would satisfy her until Jesus came and revealed the truth.
Christian author feels Unfulfilled
Deanna Lorea, author of Unraveled, shares God’s profound revelation about her situation, which most Christians can relate to.
She thought that doing things for God “must be the key to satisfaction in life.” But after finding herself empty after getting heavily involved in ministry, she confronted God with it.
Then, God in His grace and wisdom told her, “Deanna, even in calling or purpose in ministry will not fulfill you. The only thing that will satisfy you is communion with Me.”
God showed her that man’s sole purpose is to be in communion with his Creator, to be in a relationship with the Father. Furthermore, whatever a person is chasing after that is taking the place of God is an idol, even though it is identified as ministry in the church.
“Deanna, the only thing that you truly need in this life is relationship with your Father. Everything flows from that place. It is the only place that even when you are full, you will still want more.”
Man’s Sole Purpose
She realized what God was saying. She said, “One thing I’ve noticed is that “ministry” in any sense of the word isn’t designed to “fulfill” us. So when we look to it seeking fulfillment and end up wondering why we CAN feel as empty as we did before pursuing things from our past… it can get confusing.”
“I was looking for ministry to be the answer to it all but it came up short EVERY TIME. There’s blessing in service and seeing someone come to know the Lord because of a step you took in faith is UNPARALLELED, but even that can’t fill the void only He can.”
