A pastor with an aggressive brain cancer chose to spend his last days passionately doing God’s work, feeding starving kids.
Olive Vine Restaurant And Missions
Jason Ong is serving God as a pastor in Singapore with his wife, Judith Halim. Together, the couple ran a business to provide food for starving children in the Philippines. Apparently, the Lord impressed Judith to start the “Olive Vine” restaurant even though the couple didn’t know how to cook. But “by faith,” Jason and Judith successfully established the “Olive Vine” restaurant and the “Olive Vine Missions.” As a result, the small business generated provisions for funding the missions without raising funds for 17 years. However, Jason’s faith was challenged when he was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor. He knew he could die anytime. But the thought of death made him go all the more out serving God in the mission field.
“As long as I still have breath in me and strength, we will continue and we will push on until the day I cannot get up,” the pastor remarked. “Then I guess that will be the end.”
Brain Cancer Took A Toll In Pastor’s Health
Then in 2012, Jason felt that his time was coming, that he “would die within a year.” So, he decided to spend his last days in the Philippines with the kids in the mission field.
Meanwhile, his wife trusted God and supported his decision.
At one point, Judith broke into tears while at the restaurant. She cried out to God and said, “God, have compassion on me. I’m not ready to lose my husband. My daughter is not ready to lose her father.”
That’s when Jason also heard a still, small voice from the Lord saying, “I will heal you, because of the tears of your wife.”
Watch the powerful and miraculous thing that God did!
