The author and preacher Joyce Meyer, talked about faith in one of her preaching. She believes that faith can grow. “You’ve got to use what you have if you want more,” she preached. Faith is a force, but it has to be released. She shared 3 practical ways to do it:
1. By Praying
Firstly, faith can be released by praying. The Bible says in James 5:16 that a fervent, effectual prayer of a righteous man avails much. She was a big fan of prayer and encouraged the congregation to do it constantly. “You don’t have to be in some spiritual position, on your knees with your eyes closed to pray. Prayer is just talking to God,” she remarked.
Moreover, she highlighted that people need to include faith in their prayer time. One of her examples was praying for food. Sometimes, so many believers made it a ritual that it meant nothing to them. She reminded the audience to sincerely pray for the food they eat and stay focused on what they are saying.

2. By Saying
Secondly, by declaring God’s word. She gave a practical scenario: When she got sick, she would declare, “I believe God’s healing power is working in me, and every day, I’m going to get better and better in every way. ” However, she shared how easy it was for people to be tempted to focus on the bad things happening around them. That’s why she highlighted the importance of declaring what they believed.
Furthermore, whenever she had problems, she would remind herself that they would end well. She knew that God would take what Satan meant for harm and work it out for her good. Then, she also said that people could learn what’s on the inside if they listened to the words in their mouths.
3. By Doing
Lastly, she explained that faith can be released by following God’s instructions and commandments. And faith works through love. “You’re not going to put faith in God if you’re not positive that he loves you,” she recounted. After this, she reassured the people that God loves them so much. Further, she added some instances wherein she activated her faith. First, she was convinced that Jesus would come even if she hadn’t seen it yet. Second, she hadn’t seen an angel, but she believed they were watching and protecting God’s people.
“Believe that you have received it, and you will get it,” she stated.
