The lead pastor of Stone Bridge Bible Church gives a warning to believers about Satan’s simple strategy for getting the church to stray away from God.
Satan’s simple strategy
Pastor Jonny Ardavanis believes that satan has a simple strategy to confuse the church: Make sin look normal and make righteousness seem strange.
He went on to explain that God has given believers a simple strategy against the enemy. Romans 12:2 is that strategy and says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Through the renewing of our minds, believers can test and approve the good, perfect, and pleasing will of God. It helps us discern the things of God, the things of the enemy, and the things of the world.
Pastor John added, “If you’re a Christian, you need to be constantly on guard to anything that dulls your conscience. To the sinfulness of sin, the shows you watch, the music you listen to, and the people you interact with matter.”
Do not love the world
As 1 John 2:15 says, “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.”
The following verse shows us that the things of the world are not for us. At the same time, we know that we belong to God if we demonstrate His love in our lives. “But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.”(v. 5-6)
He went on to add, “You are constantly molded either into the image of Christ or into the image of this world.”
