Christian missionaries in Malawi ask for prayers from the body of Christ as they help rescue people amidst the catastrophic cyclone that hit the country.
Prayer Request From Iris Global
In a post by the Christian interdenominational missionary organization, Iris Global shared the tragedy that happened in Malawi, East Africa. They are asking for prayers as their team were sent out to help rescue victims from the floods.
“They are out doing swift water rescues, delivered desperately needed supplies,” Iris Global wrote. “And providing shelter for their neighbors who have been impacted by catastrophic Cyclone Freddy.”But the Christian organization also remarked on the truth amidst the overwhelming situation, reminding believers that God is in control.
“Our eyes are on Jesus—He is our peace in the storm,” they declared.
Malawi Floods
Cyclone Freddy left Malawi devastated. According to Floodlist, the tropical cyclone affected “around 500,000 people” in southern area. Further, “over 180,000 people” were displaced due to severe flooding. Reports also noted that “326 people” died from the calamity, and 201 are still missing.
Following Iris Global’s post, prayers poured in for Malawi. Many responded in the comments, expressing their concern and prayers for the victims and rescuers.

Another by anita_kezia wrote, “Oh Lord, that’s a lot. Please Lord protect and hug them. I speak and blessings over them. Thank you Lord.”
Indeed, there is a lot to pray for in Malawi. More than all the provisions they need, pray also that they will come to know Christ in these trying times. May the Lord give them favor, healing, blessings, and a heaven-on-earth experience. God bless Malawi.
