Chris Pratt posted a controversial poem on Instagram about how divided America has been. The Christian actor ended the post by saying that “under God, we’re indivisible”.
The award-winning actor has always been open about his Christianity and faith in God. Using his platform to sharing his faith with with others has been his ultimate goal.
Ding-Dongs
The Marvel actor described the poem as a “hot new poem” with the title “DING-DONGS”. The poem contains social commentaries about how divided America is and how the media intensifies the division.
“Ding to the left.
Dong to the right.
The reverberations swell.”
The poem refers to the far left and far right and the prolonged chaos that the divisiveness has caused.
“Ding dongs on the far right fringes
Squeaking mad like rusty hinges.
Ding dongs from the far left squad
Fixed on answers outside God.”
The people also states how the media played with the division.
“The media plays them like a fiddle
Drowning out the healthy middle.
Pick your tribe. State your name
DISREGARD: WE’RE ALL THE SAME!”
Call for unity
The “Jurassic World” actor then ended his post by emphasizing that we are all children of God. He even calls America to unity.
“We’re His children despite race, creed, preference or age.
Under God we’re indivisible.
To stay United is our duty.”
Chris’s post received different comments. Some appreciated Chris for the bold post and support him. Others were unhappy with his opinion and were pleading him to stay away from politics.
America
On July 4, Chris also posted other thoughts about America along with a photo of the Declaration of Independence.
“I personally believe it’s important to reflect upon the idea of America. Any institution made by humans is bound to be imperfect. But it is our responsibility to strive to improve, to form a ‘more perfect union’”.
