An anonymous donor has given $1 Million to hospital staff. The donor requested that the money should be divided between every single employee.
Dignity Health Dominican Hospital
The Dignity Health Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, California received a generous gift from an anonymous donor. Hospital employees who have been front-line workers during the coronavirus pandemic are rejoicing over the blessing that they received.
The anonymous donor included a note along their monetary gift calling the hospital staff as heroes.
“To the heroes of Dominican Hospital: Thank you for standing up (and staying up!) to care for our community,” the donor wrote in the note. “This human kindness is what makes you heroic. Please accept this donation in recognition of and with great thanks for all that you do. And please know that my heart is with you as we seek to protect and care for each other during this challenging time.”
Anonymous Donor
In accordance with the donor’s request, the money would be divided into every hospital staff who worked at the facility for at least a year. That includes security guards, janitors, lab technicians, mailroom workers, nurses, and doctors.
“There are so many people who keep the hospital running,” nursing supervisor Amy Loudon said. “Nurses and doctors are getting the praise, but we couldn’t do it without the staff who clean the floors, deliver supplies, fix machines, everything. It’s a team, and I’m glad the whole team is getting a thank you.”
$1 Million donation
The front-line workers who have worked tirelessly for weeks are rejoicing over the anonymous donor’s kindness. Full-time employees received $800 bonus checks and part-time employees received $600 on top of their salaries.
Communities all over the world are expressing their gratitude to the people who are risking their lives to serve the community during these trying times.
“We cannot adequately express the depth of our gratitude for this gracious, selfless gift,” said Dominican Hospital President Nanette Mickiewicz, MD. “We are incredibly proud of the work our hospital family is doing in the face of such an unprecedented situation. This generous donation is a testament to their clinical excellence, their tireless dedication, and, most of all, their profound humanity.”
