Restaurants across the U.S. are giving away free food and drinks to workers fighting COVID-19 in the front lines.
Staffers fighting COVID-19
To express the gratitude of the community to the front line warriors in this battle against coronavirus, many restaurants and businesses are reaching out to help. Food chains and even retail businesses across the United States are offering help to our today’s heroes.
Starbucks
One of the leading coffee shops worldwide, Starbucks, is also taking part in this humanitarian cause. Starbucks cafes across the U.S. and Canada are giving free small coffees for front line responders through May 3.
Free coffees are for police officers, firefighters, paramedics, doctors, nurses, and hospital employees.
“This moment in time, as the world is united in an effort to mitigate the effects of COVID-19, requires coordinated action by governments, health care providers, businesses, and people in every community,” wrote Kevin Johnson, Starbucks president, and CEO. “Working together, we are making a difference and, together, we will overcome this unprecedented challenge.”
Krispy Kreme
On March 30, donut chain Krispy Kreme also started to give away free dozens of donuts to hospital staff.
“Just go to a Krispy Kreme drive-thru, tell us what you need and show us your employer badge,” stated in the Krispy Kreme website. “That’s it. Pick up some free dozens on the way to work for you and your colleagues, or maybe a free dozen on your way home to family after a long shift.”
Restaurants such as Nando’s Peri-Peri and Delta Sonic are also giving free meals to the COVID-19 heroes. While Taco Bell is giving away free meals to everyone in America.
Crocs
Retail businesses, including Crocs, also joined in this cause. The shoe company that popularized non-stick, cleanable shoes for hospital staffers, are giving away free pairs of shoes to hospital employees.
During this global pandemic, the sense of unity is being seen in the community. During this trying time, people have become more sensitive to the needs of others. May this be a light of hope for everyone, may this remind us that God is still good regardless of what’s happening.
