A prayerful husband firmly believed that Jesus already healed his critically ill wife despite the doctor’s contradicting opinion.
Critically Ill Wife
Bud and Gina Boop were from Phoenix, Arizona, and they shared about God’s powerful healing and restoration. Sadly, the couple went through a challenging season of their lives that greatly tested their faith. Bud’s wife, Gina, fell into a coma due to a sudden stage 5 brain aneurysm. There was a “Y” shaped in the back of her head, and the aneurysm was between the “Y.” The other side goes to talking, and the opposite side goes to walking. Bud needed to choose which part the doctor would cut off.
At that moment, Bud remembered Psalms 91:16, “With long life will I satisfy you and show you my salvation.” Then, he said to God that what happened to his wife Gina was not the “long life” that He was talking about. But despite his wife’s situation, he chose to stand strong and exercise his faith.
That’s when he said to the doctor that he could cut off the side that goes to walking. He also added that it didn’t matter to him because he believed that she would be fine. Then, the doctor gave his contradicting opinion telling him that his wife would need assistance if she walked again. However, Bud said to the doctor, “No, Doc, she’s been healed 2000 years ago by Jesus Christ. She’s going to be just fine.”
Praying for her Critically Ill Wife
Furthermore, Bud knew that his wife’s life was dependent on the Holy Spirit guiding the brain surgeons. So, he asked their family doctor to pray for the head neurologist who would operate on Gina. He boldly prayed for a miraculous result. When the doctor came from the operating room, he said that they made a giant leap forward. But there was only a 25% chance that Gina would go through the next three days and she would go through seizures.
Again, Bud firmly answered the Doctor, “No, Doc… she’s not going to have seizures. She’s been healed by Jesus Christ 2000 years ago. She’s going to be just fine.” That night, he asked God to give him a vision. Then, he dreamed of his wife. They were walking through Costco and playing with their dog in a park. When he woke up the next morning, he knew that everything would be okay.
His family, and the church also supported them through prayers. In fact, Pastor Andrew Wommack declared a healing prayer for Gina. They chose to keep their faith even in the midst of an impossible situation.

Faith in the midst of Uncertainties
Moreover, one of the doctors even said to their Pastor that Gina would not get out of the hospital alive. They needed the Pastor’s help in convincing Bud to come to terms with that fact. But then, the Pastor knew Bud so well. “These are not things that he [Bud] just… like beliefs that he just adopted in the last week or two since his wife got sick. These are things he’s believed in for years. This is the way this man is wired,” the pastor said.
While holding on to the promises that God would heal Gina, Bud only allowed visitors who believed the same. They would pray and declare life to Gina. Also, they would read Andrew Wommack’s book in the room so that they would be reminded of God’s healing power.
Complete Healing
Indeed, God miraculously healed Gina. In fact, she only stayed in the hospital for six weeks. During that time, there were still few symptoms of brain aneurysm. Gina had a severe crossed eye. Then, she went through therapy. Her family believed that there was no such thing as partial healing in Jesus. So, they supported Gina during the rehabilitation until she was completely healed.
“…Bud’s story, I think, is an amazing encouragement and a reminder to us all to keep our eyes focused on the provision of God that’s made through Jesus Christ.,” their pastor said.
