Pastor Creflo Dollar shared in one of his messages why worldliness is not based on the external things you can see.
Worldliness
The founder of World Changers Church International, Pastor Creflo Dollar, preached about what worldliness truly means. He gave an illustration about a person who owns a boat. If he stays in the boat, everything is good. But problems start when the water gets in the boat. The same thing applies to the world; a person lives in this world but should not allow the world to get inside.
“Worldliness is not based on the external things you can see. It’s based on that unseen craving you have,” he shared.
He shared, “To love the world is to ignore God.” Sometimes, people treat worldliness as external, but that’s not entirely true. People misjudge others by the way they look. “The externals are not the issues because worldliness stems from a heart that desires anything, but the Lord first in all things,” Pastor Creflo said.
Valuing other things above God
He added that worldliness is a craving for physical pleasure. It’s about valuing other things above God. “Worldliness is wrong focus in that which can never satisfy,” he implied. Moreover, he gave a practical example. For instance, money can buy someone a house but can’t make a home.
Worldliness happens when a person stops craving God and His word. Pastor Creflo also mentioned that the enemy can lead people to crave things that can’t satisfy them.
“It’s not wrong to, you know, want to have nice things or want to have a nice job, but you do that depending on God. You don’t turn your back on God to try to achieve those things,” he reminded the congregation.
Indeed, worldliness is an issue of the heart and not just about external things.
