Although painful, a Christian couple did not bail out their prodigal son and followed God’s instructions during their prayer time, leaving him in jail. Three weeks later, he became a new person.
The Prodigal Son
Charlotte and Steve were overjoyed when their son, Gunner, was born into the world. He was God’s answered prayer after Charlotte suffered from a miscarriage. Gunner brought immense pride and joy to his parents as a young boy. He actively participated in worship leading, enjoyed attending church, and set a good example to other young people.
The couple showered Gunner with love and provided intentional Godly parenting throughout his childhood. However, when he turned 15, they noticed a significant change in his behavior. Gunner began distancing himself from his parents and no longer showed interest in attending church.
CHRISTIAN MOTHER TESTIFIES HOW HER DAUGHTER REFUSED TO WORSHIP A FALSE GOD IN SCHOOL
At the age of 15, Gunner befriended a new group of teenagers in his hometown who exposed him to parties, drugs, alcohol, and sexual activities. Charlotte and Steve were heartbroken as it seemed like they had lost their son. Despite their efforts, they were unable to bring him back to the person who once had a love for Jesus.
Sent To Jail For Theft
During one of Charlotte’s prayer times, God revealed that Gunner would end up in jail. He instructed her not to bail him out until He said so. Charlotte placed her trust in God’s word. When the day arrived and Gunner was imprisoned for theft, Charlotte faced a difficult decision.
Gunner reached out to his mother for help securing his release from prison. However, Charlotte and Steve remained steadfast in following God’s guidance and declined their son’s request. Charlotte explained to Gunner that this was what God had directed them to do. In response, Gunner expressed anger and directed hurtful language towards his parents.
Charlotte and Steve held back despite their son’s unlikely response and trusted God with all their hearts. They continued praying for their son while leaving him in jail.
Three weeks later, God answered their prayers as Gunner had a sudden change of heart.
