Are you a son or a daughter of God? If so, you are called to be led by the Spirit. Sons and daughters walk by the Spirit. You are a new creation in Christ, having been crucified with Him! That is a marvelous truth. But, you still have a choice every day on how you’re going to live. You are no longer a slave, but a child of the Mist High.

Sons and Daughters Walk by the Spirit

We are not to be led by the flesh, but by the Spirit. A Holy Spirit-led life produces rich fruit that enriches our souls and it is a fragrance to those around us. Jesus has set us free! Our lives should look different!

“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law” (Galatians 5:16-18).

The world is always in turmoil. People are living in anxiety and fear. But there is hope! As ambassadors for Christ, the children of God tell a different story. We have been washed clean by the blood of Jesus and we are new creations! We live in this world, but not of it. Let your life be a testimony of the grace of God.

“For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace” (Romans 8:5-6).

How do I Live by the Spirit Every Day?

Here are some practical steps to help you live by the Spirit. It’s one thing to know that something is the right thing to do, but how do we start?

Begin each day with thanksgiving and praise. Turn your affections towards Jesus and simply thank Him. You have been given access into His presence! If you need to repent, don’t hesitate! God is faithful to forgive.

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise! Give thanks to Him; bless His name!” (Psalm 100:4).

Keep your heart in a posture of thankfulness and just keep your focus on Him. You can do this all day, even while working or cooking, taking care of your children, etc.

Another key is to remain childlike! Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14).

Children believe what they hear. Read the Bible and believe it! Believe what God says, and remember that you are a co-heir with Christ. You live in the Kingdom of God!

Ask The Holy Spirit to help you! He is your Helper, as promised by Jesus! He leads you into all truth. Talk to Him and listen. Wait on Him. Practice being still and having ears to hear.

Prayer

Holy Spirit, thank you for dwelling in me and with me. I ask that you would help me and teach me to be led by you! Convict me when I am living by the flesh and keep my heart soft, so that I repent quickly. I surrender to you today. Thank you that I am yours and you are mine! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Invest In Your Relationship With God

I wanna encourage you today to do this: invest in your relationship with God. It is the best investment you could ever make. The Father loves you, Jesus is your co-heir with Christ, you’re seated in heavenly places with Him, and you can live from heaven to earth. From that perspective by the Holy Spirit, He will give you wisdom and revelation and strategy on how to do life, how to live naturally supernatural. We’ve been given access to heaven now.

You know, Jesus tells us to pray “on earth as it is in heaven.” And I just remember standing in worship one day and I was singing the song, Show Me Your Glory. And I’m crying out to God like this, and I’m just really into it. And you know, you get louder when you mean it more. And I’ve got my head up and I’m belting this Show Me Your Glory. And I wanted to see revival happen on this college campus. And the Holy Spirit interrupted my passionate worship, and He said, “Hey, I’m right here.” He’s like, you know, He’s speaking to me. He’s like, “I’m right in front of you.” He said, “I’m waiting on you.” And I was like, “What?” He’s already made a way. He lives inside of us. The Holy Spirit lives inside of us. He was waiting for me to pray for people. He was waiting for me to lay hands on the sick. He was waiting for me to preach the gospel.

You know, it talks about in Romans, how can people know unless they hear? Unless somebody preaches? I don’t have to be a pastor at a church or with a microphone in my hand to share the gospel with people. You know, the Great Commission in Matthew 28 says, “Go and make disciples,” but I can’t do that on my own. I have to invest in my relationship with Him, and not just for the sake of the outcome in fulfilling the Great Commission. But Jesus died. The Father sent Jesus to die so that you and I could be in relationship with Him. He loves us. He wants to hang out with us. You know, and James, it says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” There’s no caveat so that you can do His work. That’s just a fruit of a healthy relationship with Him.

And so I wanna pray for you right now, that if you need to carve out time, if you need to find space in your schedule, if you’ve tried to spend time with God and it’s been hard, I just wanna pray for you right now. Holy Spirit, would you encounter with your love, with your revelation. I just release over you ears to hear. That Holy Spirit, you would speak clearly, and that you would receive an increased awareness of His voice in your life as you take time to ask, and you take time to listen, and you take time to let Him know what’s on your heart. Because you know, He knows everything, but it’s another thing for you to come to Him and share what’s on your heart. That’s what a Father wants. Father doesn’t wanna just find out what His kid’s doing. He wants the kid to come to Him and share. And so I just release that over you in Jesus name. Amen.

3 Way Communication: Talking With The Holy Spirit

Most of us think that communication is a two-way process. But when the Holy Spirit is our partner it becomes a three-way process. Jesus spoke what He saw and heard His Father saying and doing. In the same way, we too need to be listening and doing what the Holy Spirit is prompting us to do. This brings our communication to a new level. He will show you what to say and do. This is a walk of faith when you have to rely on Him for everything. This means to walk in His fullness all the time. What profound words flowed from Jesus’ mouth as He spoke. Even the rabbis in His day were astounded by the wisdom and knowledge He possessed. This same wisdom and knowledge are available to us today.

Matthew 18:20 says, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Communication With God

Jesus came to fulfill His commission to bring a people to Himself, His body on earth. He gave His own Spirit so that we are never alone. As we walk with Him and talk with Him we become like Him. What a holy transaction and transference occur. All provision has been made. All we need to do is to receive by faith His promises. This is the abundant life He gives. He is our Master and we become His servants.

We live to represent Him on earth as HE is in Heaven. And we do not have to work and labor but rest and be. We are not robots as we need to be actively participating with Him. In this way, we will grow to be like Him. We will experience victory and success in all our endeavors. There will be opposition, but nothing can stand against our God. What a life, what destiny to those who are being called into His Kingdom. Come and be filled and overcome for His Name’s sake.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
