American Idol Top 12 Contender Sing Lauren Daigle’s ‘Thank God I Do’

American Idol Christian contender Megan Danielle made it to the Top 12, and the song she performed again showcased her powerful voice. This time she sang Lauren Daigle’s “Thank God I Do.”

When Megan Danielle made it to the Top 20 of this year’s American Idol, she belted We The Kingdom’s “Holy Water” song. Her performance received a great response from both the judges and the crowd. Hundreds left their comments on American Idol’s YouTube video commending the Christian singer.

Unique Version Of “Thank God I Do”

And now, Megan amazed the crowd once again with her recent performance. She sang her own rendition of Lauren Daigle’s “Thank God I Do.” The song lyrics say:

“I don’t know who I’d be if I didn’t know You
I’d probably fall off the edge
I don’t know where I’d go if You ever let go
So keep me held in Your hands”

Standing Ovation

Wearing a sparkly denim jacket, Megan sang the first verse and belted through the chorus part. Her unique version and powerful voice stunned the crowd. The judges even gave her a standing ovation at the end.

A YouTube user named Marcos commented, “This girl’s belting power is just amazing. I just love it when she does it. She’s going to the finals, I can’t see it otherwise.”

Another user, robertantonnyc, wrote, “Feeling all the emotions on this. Her voice has such an ache and humble strength. This came from the heart.”

Also, user Annie M commented on her spiritual perspective. Annie wrote, “Megan carries the holy spirit inside her. She is truly angelic. She gave me Goosebumps and tears, she did Amazing.”

American Idol is in its 21st season this year. And in the recently concluded episode, the Top 20 contenders performed. Megan Danielle is one of the Christian contestants who made it to the Top 20, and she amazed the crowd with her powerful voice. Not only that, she also brought glory to God by singing for Him on stage.

The singer-songwriter sang We The Kingdom’s “Holy Water.” It’s a Christian song with a prayerful lyrics conversing with God about man’s need of Him.

Holy Water

Onstage, Megan declared the lyrics of “Holy Water” with her incredible voice. It goes:

“God, I’m on my knees again
God, I’m begging please again
I need you
Oh, I need you
Walking down these desert roads
Water for my thirsty soul

I need you
Oh, I need you
Your forgiveness
Is like sweet, sweet honey on my lips
Like the sound of a symphony to my ears
Like Holy water on my skin”

The song also describes about God’s grace where it declared:

“I don’t wanna abuse Your grace
God, I need it every day
It’s the only thing that ever really makes me wanna change”

Also, Megan proclaimed in her Instagram post that her purpose was “to share the love of Jesus.”

Contender Turns To Gospel Roots In Return To ‘American Idol’

An American Idol alum came back with a powerful performance of “Voice of God,” taking the crowd to church and saying he had regrets last year for trying to be someone he is not.

Dewayne Crocker, Jr. was among the Top 20 finalists of American Idol Season 18 last year. But unfortunately, the pandemic altered the show. They went from the big stage to at home with their performances.

Finally, this year, American Idol brought back the top ten finalists for the Comeback Episode. And for Dewayne, it’s an opportunity to get the lessons he had learned on the first go-round. The contender had regrets last year for trying to be someone else. And he says he’s going back to his church roots—the gospel music. In fact, he launched his journey after singing with his relatives in a restaurant.

“That was actually crossing my mind as I was going forth with this opportunity,” he said. “Don’t forget what brought me this far.”

American Idol Comeback Episode

So, coming back to American Idol today, he is determined to do what he wants to do—to honor God.

In his performance, Dewayne sang “Voice of God” by Dante Bowe ft. Steffany Gretzinger & Chandler Moore. He sang while playing the piano and stood out on stage! He brought the judges and the audience to church with his powerful piece.

“You look like an artist,” Katy Perry told the 24-year-old. “It got more powerful and more soulful and definitely connected. It was really dope. I felt those church chills.”

Furthermore, Bryan added how Dewayne gave a “very solid vocal.” Meanwhile, Richie commented that “you clearly stepped into your light.”

“You had our attention from beginning to end,” Richie said.

A 7-year-old adorable contender who is one of the youngest ever finalists on The Voice Kids UK stuns the show’s stage with her powerful performance of “Where is the Love.”

Victoria Alsina is the seven-year-old little girl who blew away the judges with her previous performances. Now, during her final performance, she did it again!

With her coach will.I.am, Victoria performed Black Eyed Peas’ “Where is the Love,” a song by will.i.am’s group Black Eyed Peas on asking God for love and peace to reign in the world.

Kids From Different Nations Worship God With ‘The Blessing’ Amid Lockdown

The seven-year-old started the pop-rap song with such a powerful demeanor. She managed to perform well with her coach rapping her lines. When she rapped the lyric “Man, you gotta have love, this will set us straight” it was definitely superb – you’ll think she’s really a rapper.

Then the little girl blew the judges away when she sang the chorus part:

“People livin’, people dyin’
Children hurt and you hear them cryin’
Can you practice what you preach?
And would you turn the other cheek?

Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance from above
‘Cause people got me, got me questionin’
Where is the love”

The Voice Kids UK’s Passionate Little Singer

Once again, Victoria rapped on the second verse like a pro with such passionate facial expression. The seven-year-old wasn’t just singing but adding emotion and power to her performance. She did amazing with this pop-rap song even when she had only sung power ballads and pop music in her previous performances.

That’s why it’s no surprise that all three The Voice Kids UK judges Paloma Faith, Danny Jones, and Pixie Lott gave her a standing ovation. They all enjoyed her presence onstage and applauded her.
